I confirmed from my cousin working in Saudi Arabia as a medical doctor, he said during Ramadan, most schools start by 9 a.m in the morning instead of 8 a.m, and get few days as holiday to mark the end of Ramadan. They have their academic calendar stable, and nothing can truncate it. So where the Islam comes from, they know how to manage their time effectively to be productive all year round. I was almost lambasting CAN for poke nosing into what does not concern them, but I changed my mind when I heard that no holiday during Ramadan in Saudi.

With all the self-acclaimed best universities in the SW, how many of them have been ale to make top 20 here in Africa? They're not worth what we call them. Besides, every state is responsible for sending out certain number of their indigens for exchange program overseas, but South West is not living up to expectation in this regard, those northern governors are still committed to this course.

There's something wrong somewhere. This huge amount, yet there's no positive impact in the lives of the citizens.

Northern governors are known for doing this, it's not new in the north. It's done to encourage their indigens. When I was serving in Sokoto 13 years ago, Governor Wammako sent high number of medical students abroad in exchange program. Same thing in Kebbi State. Students in engineering, medical field and so on were being sent abroad to complete their degree overseas. They already have solid arrangement with some Unis abroad for exchange program. U will never hear such a thing in the South West.

But we've seen 2nd class upper graduates from the same university making waves in their respective field in and outside the country, and we've seen 1st class graduates from the likes of UI and OAU doing extremely poor in their chosen field.
