I have stopped going to church since 2014 but I officially renounced Christianity early this year. To be sincere with you, being a free man isn't a easy task. Though I have this inner joy and satisfaction within me but am still not happy the way my friends and family treat me.
First thing that happened when I renounced my former religion is real hatred and acrimony among my family members. Though am of age, I still leave with my parents. Each time they wake me up for family devotion and I don't attend, the day is gonna be horror throughout. I would see the sadness and disappointment boldly written on my parents face. The worst of it is when they gcome back from church on Sundays and meet me at home. Most times, I pray for Sundays not to come cos I know what will happen on Sunday's afternoon. Really working to secure my accommodation just because of this reason as I cannot cope staying with them any longer.
Recently, my girlfriend of 4 years told me she can't continue with the relationship as her parents also doesn't subscribe to my newly-found way of life. It's a thing that shattered my heart because of the love I have for her. She has been very loving, caring and supporting and I must confess, it's difficult for me to let go of her but tactically, the relationship is over now cos we can't resolve the religious differences cos am not ready to compromise my new believe.
Finally, I have lost quite a number of friends also. Thanks to those that are still with me. Really, as someone has said on this forum, atheist don't have problem living with people of other religion (belief), it's other people that have problem living with us.

Religiousity Most times is a factor of getting a High profile Job(if you're not in one) and other stuffs etc...
I believe the best time to fully state one's atheism is when one has finally ''settled''----Your own Family.....

Though I am believer in the Christian faith, I have always asked myself questions such as that. I have never allowed my belief to cap my critical thinking ability. I am not dogmatic believer. Many more questions like...

(1) Why didn't he destroy the devil in the first instance after he and other angels fell? Why would he allow the devil to lead Adam astray and wait till judgement day thousands of years later to judge mankind?

(2) Practically speaking, we have faar more non-believers on earth than true Christian believers. How can someone tell me that God won through the salvation brought forth by Jesus when satan has more 'disciplines".

(3) Why place a tree of the knowledge of good and evil on the same garden you have Adam and Eve. Mre common sense will tell you that if you don't want anything tampered with, you keep it out of reach. Even a 12 year old child knows that.

I can go on and on and on.

However, I still fully accept the Bible because God understands mysteries that we don't understand. He is God and he owes no man explanation. Besides, we are saved by faith not by sight (proof/evidence).

Are buildings, school books paid for with stones? Are the salaries of teachers or the infrastructure in these schools which no government (Federal, State or Local) can provide paid for with sand? On what basis should education provided by churches be free?

Scholarships are given by these schools based on academic excellence. If you want your children to attend those schools, go and hustle and pay for your children's education or you groom them to be smart enough to win scholarships. Simple.

It is the responsibility of parents to pay for their children's fees. My father was a real man and paid for all our fees without hoping for a church to put up a free school so his children can attend.

If the person who put up these signposts believes his wife should be in the kitchen or the other room, then the productive time he is wasting going around to put up signposts should be used to hustle to pay his kids' fees.

Any man who is busy with his wife in the other room producing babies should be man enough to get money to pay for their fees and not rely on a church to do that for him.
