Christianity Etc › Re: Watch The Newly Released Movie: "The Atheist Delusion" Free Here by raphieMontella: 10:56am On Oct 26, 2016
Since this is my last post to you...
Let me make it a bit detailed.
wackpoet:
About 180 organs previously thought to be vestigial organs have now been shown to perform varying functions, some very vital. Examples include appendix, coccyx , so called Gill slits which are in actuality pharyngeal pouches and arches and which result in formation of the thymus, the external auditory meatus, the throat and other organs.
the gills are not said to be vestigial organs..they are vestigial traits which re-appear as a result of common descent...
The e. coli experiment is fraught with inconsistencies and there are scientists countering it ( e. g Minnick although mainstream science media won't carry it)..
the consistent thing is that----------------The bacteria evolved new information,,new traits and abilities not in their genes or ancestry before...thats the major proof.

The fruit fly experiment is basic biology knowledge and just simply proves that you get some traits from one of your parents or a combination of both of them which to me doesn't prove evolution.
the fruit flies experiment prove that mutations can give new useful information...
Which it did..
Charles Darwin was said to have lamented the limitations in genetic mutation . I believe there are limitations too because no matter what you do to a fruit fly, it still remains a fruit fly no matter what you do to a bacteria it doesn't become a fungi. Natural selection is a conservative and not a creative process , individual members of an animal group with the best qualities survive not so they can grow wings or be able to touch the sun, nope they do this to be able to bring out the best potential in their species and fight off oppression by other species ,not become other species. This to me is pure logic.
the idea of darwinism is that little drops of water over time...make a mighty ocean----simple logic..
The amazing thing with darwinism is that its postulates have been and are continually being backed up with evidences we see..thus making the scientific community labelling it a scientific theory..
E.g--you can never find a mammal fossil beneath an invertebrate fossil in the fossil layer..
The way the evolution was propossed (the linking between animals) have all been consistent with the transitional fossils we've been finding---mammal to whale, dinosaur to bird etc
Evolution is the real fiction not creation.
let me break something down more...
Evolution is a fact...just like gravity is a fact..
General relativity is a theory which helps us to understand gravity more...just like darwinism tries to help us understand evolution..
A better theory can be created to help us understand evolution more etc..
I do hope you understand this..
I've studied animals too well;to believe animals are not related is improbable..
I know for a fact that animals are conscious and that humans and apes are definitely related..

This has been fun but it's taking a lot of my time and resources. I wouldn't be replying any further. I'll allow you the last say because you argue with facts ( tho disputable) . My advice to you, atheism is a strong view to hold and shouldn't be done lightly and without exploring all options and getting irrefutable facts. I usually don't have problems with atheists till they think they're superior ( more evolved if you like ) because they have a separate belief from me.
I am not an atheist myself,
i dont believe in darwins theory of evolution
but i do not suscribe to religious gods..

God bless you bro
amen..and you too!
(alternate monicker)

NIGERIANS ARE THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA. NOT RELIGION and to be specific, not christianity. not the government(because leaders are produced from the masses). if the citizens are greedy, self centered, and corrupt it will surely reflect in the government. Nigerians should learn To accept responsiblity, instead of pointing accusing fingers on everything and anything, Religion has done more good than harm, civilization modernization, education are all as a result of christianity.

Religion does not inhibits advancement, rather it promotes it.

JackBizzle:
Before I go in to criticise religion, we must understand certain basic facts

1) The main problem of Nigeria is corruption not religion (religion is further down the list of problems)
2) USA and UK are secular countries. Their development has little to do with religion/christianity
3) In fact, the top 10 most developed countries (HDI) in the world are all secular and very irreligious (Norway, Australia, switzerland, denmark)
4) Religion is a tool like a gun- it can be used for good or bad. Guns are mostly used for bad.
5) Our colonial masters who took slaves from our country were christians.
5) As an atheist, islam is a worse religion than christianity with regards to tolerance.

How Christianity and Islam destroyed Nigeria

1) Slavery.
-We were first enslaved by Muslims as early as 12th century or even earlier. Then Western white christians came later. The first slave ship was called the "Good Jesus". Slavery is allowed in the holy books of islam and christianity. Muhammad had slaves and the bible tells one how to beat slaves

2) Destroying Nigerian culture
-most Japanese do not believe in Shintoism but you will see many shinto shrines being taken care of as the shrines make tourism money for the Japanese. Nigerians on the other hand have destroyed their ancestral shrines due to christianity and islam.
-Nigerian names used to have meaning. Now we have people bearing Jacob, Isiah, and Josiah- (Jewish names).
-Hausa language and culture has been destroyed by islam and replaced with Arabic culture- why would a Nigerian's name be Muhammad Mubarak? huh Is hijab a fulani/hausa dress?
-White wedding is now more important than traditional wedding. Church can now say that two people shouldnt get married because they are from different churches.

3) Promoting child-birth (against abortion) and therefore overpopulation and misery
-The catholic church hates condoms.
-Every child is seen as a blessing. Rather than preaching family planning, churches and mosques welcome children and baby dedication.
-Why would a driver that can't feed himself have 10 children?

4) Promoting ignorance
-Telling people that every problem in their life is as a result of people cursing them from the village
-Telling people that evolution is a lie
-Telling people that children can be witches
-Telling people that we are all descendants of adam and abraham (When Nigerian culture is older than Judaism/Jews)

5) Promoting bigotry and intolerance
-we hate gays
-we hate atheists
-we hate pagans (despite we all descended from pagans)
-We hate people from other sects (Protestant vs catholics- Sunni v Shia)

6) Wasting Nigeria's money
-Wasting government money on pilgrimages (both to Isreal and Mecca)
-Government officials tithing with stolen or government funds
-Churches buying private jets (Are jets, jet spare parts and maintenance done by Nigerians?)

7) Promoting inferiority complex to foreigners
-Christians undying love for one of the most racist countries in the world- Isreal
-White Jesus (99% of churches have a white jesus when Jesus is most likely dark skinned)
-Muslims undying love for Saudi Arabia
-Some igbos even claim to be Jews grin grin grin
-American pastors are the best huh
-Arab imams/clerics are the best huh

This and many more.

Remain blessed. Ramen!
logic!

byteHead:
Your questions betray a fundamental misunderstanding of evolutionary theory.
Humans did not evolve from monkeys; humans and monkeys both evolved from an extinct common ancestor.

To ask a question of the form ‘If Species A evolved from Species B, how come Species B still exists?’ is to misunderstand how evolution works. Entire species do not evolve into new species; new species tend to evolve as isolated offshoots of existing (parent) species.

In some cases, newly evolved species can end up out-competing their parent (or sibling) species, driving them to extinction, but by no means in all cases. So, even if Species A evolved from Species B, there is no reason why Species B should not still exist.

Most noticeable evolution happens over very long periods of time.
All living creatures are all evolving all the time. It's just a very slow process—much slower than we can observe in our lifetimes.

Evolution will only continue to be controversial to ignorant black African who have been completely brainwashed into worshipping the gods of their conquerors. In the west and more enlightened societies, even 10 yr olds understand and accept evolution as a fact.

so Wikipedia is now more authentic than the Gallups survey when it comes to matters of this nature? Continue deceiving yourself.
wikipedia refers to authentic documents...if we check ''acceptance'' of evolution on wikipedia,we'd see GALLUP'S SURVEY there..
What am saying is that
1)the internet is a way/an access to info'
2)if 88% of the US has usage of the internet...we can say by benefit of doubt at least 44% percent of its users do researches on stuffs like this..
3)if the US has 54% of evolutionists
we can by benefit of doubt, say 27% percent got to learn about evolution by access to info'----(The internet)
4)if 44% percent of internet users gave 27% of evolutionists..
We can extrapolate to other countries with a +/-%-age error...
Its simple logic..
I see no way it is close to 2%...maybe you can show me.

For a long time, Gallup's
survey on evolution and
creationism has been the
standard for opinion
data on this topic; the
organization's 2014
"Beliefs and Values"
survey suggested that 42 percent of
Americans are creationists, 31 percent are
theistic evolutionists, and 19 percent are
atheistic evolutionists.

Thats a very credible extract and that is in America that has all access to all info and freedom of belief. Now run this survey round the world and you will see why 2% is the general belief when compared to world population
