Thanks. . . i've been bobbing my head to this. How long ago did she make it? The chorus is cool, Blaise is good no doubt, some nice word play, rhyming schemes, metaphors all present here. . . . . . Her 3rd verse is better than her second and her second is better than her first. BUT are you telling me that 'Supernatural' is better than 'Make Em say?' I dont think so. With that said, i'm looking forward to hearing some new solo material from Blaise this year. |
demo47:I saw your post and doubted the possibility until I saw Ovie's post. U must be well connected ![]() It would be so cool if it makes notjustok. If it does, i'll even be a bit nicer in my posts there. . . lol ![]() |
seemama:Why are you posting such a naive topic? Payola is nasty BUT is part and parcel of the music industry worldwide. Didnt anybody tell you about it before you went to the studio to record ur tracks? Please watch this: [flash=425,440] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eAoqn44I-I&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/flash] |
pheesayor:Everybody says blaise is the best BUT based on what evidence? Blaise hasnt yet done a track to rival this one. I hope she gets serious real soon. . . . . . |
semid: mbulela: ![]() It's the main reason that I have followed and continue to support K16's reemergence as a solo artist. In Emphasis he was then called mouth MC. Hes the guy wearing the white hat on the right. I expect big things from him this year Its Naija hip hop all day ![]()
|
OR maybe we could organise a remix with this beat. The beat and hook is a KILLER for the topic at hand |
Face 2 Face- Tuface Idibia Thy Album Come - Ruggedman These are without any doubt IMO the BEST albums outta naija in the last 10 years. |
there is a guy called DJ Clems [did i spell that right?]at knighthouse who i think is one THE BEST PRODUCERS in naija at the moment. . . .BUT for some reason he aint gettin any props |
I liked the concept of this song BUT it was too racist for me to get on board. JJC needs advisors. I think the hype has got to his head. |
BY FAR. . . . . . . . . this is the BEST '#light up nigeria' song that i have heard. . . . . . . . BY A MILE!! Thats why it was a personal pick for me approved by the RCC on the NL hip hop mixtape album. If u disagree please say why. . . . . maybe we should set up a seperate #light up nigeria thread. . . . .just thinking. . . . . |
javalove:im a naija hip hop head. . . . . . period!!! ![]() hate it or love it. . . . . . .naija hip hop WILL take over the world. I swear, one day somebody will dig up this thread and say Rapjunkie was a prophet. ![]() DaBlaze:Please upload it and spread as far and as wide as u can. . . . . . . . . no shaking!! thanks for droppin ur comment. . . . . . |
Thanks guys. I'm really proud of it and we should do this again at the end of the year. I no go lie, I've been listening to the mixtape non stop since I uploaded it. A friend of mine who is a naija guy hadnt heard most of the songs before and was truly amazed at the skills showcased. He burnt the whole thing to CD and is slamming the mixtape in his ride as we speak. I forgot to thank all of you for contributing by posting your fav tracks which helped the Rapjunkie Congress Committee (RCC) decide on the final track list. ![]() I have always loved naija hiphop, from the very early days of Emphasis [i was a MAJOR fan] to the present day. It's in my DNA. I've watched it grow and grow and I am so exicted at the prospects that lie ahead. For example, Da Grin's album is SO GOOD that with the right strings being pulled he could get some major foreign music award nominations. One day, we will be buying tickets to head for the grammys to watch one of our own win, like Skales said. ![]()

ofokaofoki:Its another good effort BUT YET JUST ANOTHER 16 bars. If she had two more verses [32 extra bars of material] and obi just sang the hook then I would be able to judge |

Ladies & Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I enclose the completed NL Hip Hop Mixtape 2009. This is by far the BEST collection of naija hip hop tracks ever put together on one CD. This goes to show how advanced Naija hip hop has become and if u consider that we are still evolving, then, only the sky can be the limit. I look forward with great anticipation for the hot naija hip hop that will drop in 2010. A big shout out to M.I and the chocolate city crew for clearing the path for other talented naija mc's to get through. Lets face it, 2009 was M.I 's year and he single handedly reignited interest in naija hip hop. There is more to naija music than tile, tile, chi, e ga gbu madu le [did i spell that right?]A big shout out to Anime Designs, Kirby's Productions and Gafar Olaonipekun for the artwork. You guys dey try. There are three different mixtape covers and one back cover with the track list. Just choose whichever you want. If Rugged does not reply the Mode9 diss track then he MUST address it on a song explaining why he didnt. He can't afford to ignore it completely if he wants to remain credible in this game. OR he might as well start singing like Eldee and Dr Sid. ![]() |
rapjunkie:Sorry for the delay but it will be uploaded later today complete with a multiple choice of artwork. The mixtape will be available as ( 1) a long running non stop mp3 and (2) as seperate mp3 tracks. |
ravenzord:'sitting on top' has too many features to be considered in this discussion. Anything else? semid4lyfe:All these titles. . . . . based on what track?
blaise did av lik 2 single tht i knw of, she release 1,guess afta da collabo wit freestyle--Bragin rite & da song title is DA DEFINATN,av bin askin lala& co 2 upload tht track 4 lik ages,bt sims none of em knw da song, Da 2nd 1 i knw of is SUPERNATURAL which ws release last yr/dis yr, go check da 2 out, deff a good music, & yeah remember she ga a track named --LASAN also, so i name 3tracks frm her now, DA DEFINATION,SUPERNATURAL & LASAN go check em out
I have heard Lasan. It's an ok/nice song. A competent performance by Blaise BUT does not have the wow factor. It sounds like more like an album filler. Listened to 'get up jor' and 'bigger'. The same story. Competent rapping, thats all. listen here - http://www.mytruspot.com/blaise/ She has talent but needs some nicer beats/concepts/melodies. Listen to her 16 on this beat - Down by modenine feat blaise, kraft, terry tha rapman U can download/listen to the track from this link http://nigerianhiphop.net/blog/2009/12/03/modenine-down-ft-terry-tha-rapman-blaise-kraft/ she murders it . . . . . Modenine, kraft and terry all held it down too and it's a really really great track BUT its not Blaise's track. . . . . comprehende? I cant find any of the other Blaise tracks mentioned so it would help if somebody could post a link U can have all the talent in the world but if you do not utilise it properly then it is a waste. Blaise has been around longer BUT it seems that Eva has already made the better tracks. |
eldee:How do u know? are u spying on me? I need to call a meeting to discuss serious breaches in my security. ![]() The completed mixtape will be ready tomorrow guys |
ofokaofoki:Thats my point. I aint saying eva is the best. . . .i'm saying this is the best hip hop single track by a femcee that i have heard IMO. If she keeps this up, she WILL be the best. I've got ' i dare u' by blaise, xyz and terry the rapman. Blaise's 16 was cool but what else? Why is she being called the best when she aint even got a credible single?. Best potential more like but now with the emergence of eva i don't think so. |
i agree. [s] [shouldnt this be on the ruggenine thread?] [/s] dammiecool: |
@densil which kain picture be dat? khanye: densil: ofokaofoki:name the track that is better than this?. . .Blaise is better, Blaise is the best, Blaise is the illest, blah, blah, blah, blah name the track? all i hear is ![]() |
dammiecool:when i first heard rugged, that line ' i rap for mechanics and shoe makers' appealled to me because it meant he was trying to bring hip hop to the street. I admired that approach. AND it was hot sh$t!!Everybody should be able to enjoy hip hop, it cant be ALL snobby and intellectual with worldplay, metaphors, punchlines. Thats just a style of writing. You dont need lyrics filled with punchlines and complex meanings and rhyming structures to make credible hip hop music. Thats absurd. I guess this debate will never be solved because music means different things to different people. Mode9 and Rugged are two gifted rappers who have different strengths and weakneseses. I am lucky that I can admire and appreciate both. HOWEVER, i'm looking forward to new albums from both of them in 2010. |
