I agree with the poster above
The parents meant well but didn't know when to stop.thats where Naija parents get it wrong
Some will still be caging 35 year old woman and be restricting her movements It's bad... As if she will stay in their house forever, at times I feel some parents will rather keep their daughters at home than give her out for marriage because they are always kept indoor even though ripe for marriage, when they suppose to be using style to push them out. |

CalliDora1: Yes it's partly the reason why most ladies are not married. Speaking from personal experience.
My parents (especially my father) were overprotective and it was due to the fact that we were all girls and the environment in which we grew up didn't help as it was very secluded area (Ikoyi) where it's just you and your family. Those days, we were sorrounded by the whites where everyone mind their biz and my dad was cool with it as it helped curb unnecessary movements and mingling with people. He took us to the beach and fun parks by himself. So no room for hanging out on our own and making friends. He was so overprotective to the point that we were not allowed to go spend holidays with our distant relatives.
Fast forward to when we became youth. we had gotten used to staying indoors. No partying out ( who born you?) No boyfriends, no social life. Only read books, go for fellowship, come back home and hang out with ourselves and back home. It continued until we realized things have gotten out of hand.
As I speak to you, ive been living on my own for the past twelve 12 years and still afraid to invite or entertain male visitors in my house. Or even hang out like I see my mates do. Thats a result of the overprotective parenting style used on us and is still affecting me till today. Reason I easily give up on relationships because I've been trained and made to get used to keeping to myself.
So, in conclusion, it does affect. Wow...I must first commend you for sharing your experience. I am aware of that too...it's really irritating to see some parents still over protecting matured ladies that ought to be taking decisions on their own. No problem with protecting them as girls but freedom should be given to them when they are matured. |

Like we know that Nigerian parents limit their children's movement most especially the female child. Giving them the opportunity to only mingle with others only if they gain admission into school, which will leave the parents with no choice than to release them or if they go for NYSC...
After these two, a large number of them return to their parents and wait for a man somewhere to propose marriage to them.
Outside school and NYSC, some females have no freedom any more, although some still go out from their parents house in search of a better life (partner included) but that's if their parents are easy enough to free them in the first place.
Could this be a reason for many unmarried ladies? |

The companionship of a good man is one every lady yearn for. You need someone to talk to and can share your worries and happy moment with, someone who will comfort you when you feel down. Someone who you will watch your favorite Netflix with while eating popcorn and ice cream

Openbusiness: Don't be deceived, 95% of working class women are into office romance. Office quickies and after work hotel rendezvous is their trademark. Most of them are f**king their colleagues or bosses or clients, or all of the above plus or minus boyfriend, that's a fact! So don't think they don't need man because you see them running 8 to 5. Na dem dey do steamy office romance pass and because they are getting more than enough from there, they might not see the need to go outside of their work circle to engage in other sexual affairs. When I used to work salary work, I can't count the number of female colleagues we used to do telemundo for office , or the number of female staff wey some of our bosses dey hammer for inside office regularly. Damnn Niggar! Are you a carpenter? Coz you nailed it. |

dederocs: sex is overrated, some have female friends, they play with each other, and use dildos, girls do suck and finger each other...the rest fck old men who can give them cash. I believe sex is more than just the pleasure but the feeling that goes with it too. How would a girl feel fucking an old man for money compared to how she would feel being bleeped by a boyfriend she is in love with. A girl already confessed that dildos are not like a real dick but just that most girls won't be honest enough to acknowledge that. |

Romance › Do Working Class Girls Still Need Guys, And For What? by Rapsodee(op): 6:29am On Nov 14, 2020 |
I think it's kinda true that when girls have money, they don't see the need to take any guy serious. After all, part of the goodies most girls expect in relationships is getting financial favour but the working class seems to be focused on their job and making money from it but at the same time, most of them live as if they don't plan to get married or date any guy.
Always forming busy at every opportunity.
I have heard of guys breaking up or cheating on such girls because of their unavailability.
So my question now is, do they still see the need for guys/men?
Do they still feel lonely?
Do they still realize they are not getting younger?
Do they still feel Hot and seeking to be touched by a man? |
