Ihedioha ‘ll Liberate Imo – Patience Jonathan

Stanley Uzoaro
— Mar 10, 2015 | 0 Comments

The wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Dame Patience, has urged the Imo State electorate to vote massively for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) in the state, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, to free the people from what she described as misrule by the present administration in the state.

Speaking during the PDP Women Presidential Campaign rally in Owerri, the state capital, the First Lady described Ihedioha as the only candidate among others that could bring the dividend of democracy to the people.

Mrs. Jonathan stated that ‘‘Everything about the All Progressives Congress (APC) is shrouded in lies, deceit and insincerity”, urging the women to vote particularly for all the PDP candidates in the state.

She also appealed to the women to vote for President Jonathan, the PDP presidential candidate in the March 28 presidential election.

Speaking earlier, Ihedioha who is also the deputy speaker, House of Representatives, assured the First Lady that Imo State will repeat the 99.6 per cent feat recorded in the 2011 presidential election by voting for Jonathan.

He urged the registered voters in the state to obtain their permanent voter cards (PVCs) to enable them discharge their civic responsibility.

Imagine if ministry of education can place the picture of the nation's president in school uniform by the entrance of primary and secondary school gate, imagine how many students that will be inspired by that. I pray by God's grace we will have a man like this in Nigeria one day.

Peter Obi Is The Architect Of All His Problems

It may well be the case that Mr Fejiro Oliver, not being from Anambra State truly does not know that Mr Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, created for himself the credibility crisis he suffers today. In a story published by an online medium,’ Secret Reporters’, Oliver, accuses Governor Willie Obiano of trying to destroy Peter Obi! And the evidence? A video by Odenigbo Productions, demonstrating the inconsistency in Obi’s periodic vows not to ever leave APGA for another political party is being flaunted as breaking news of the Governor’s involvement!

Members of APGA who feel let down by Obi may well have an interest in taking Obi to task for his trickery. I do not think those who produced the video are saying Peter Obi has no right to join another political party. It is the crafty politician’s fundamental right. It appears to me that they are saying; let us put the records straight. This man declared many times that APGA was not just a political party; that it was a mass movement; a vehicle for all progressives, minorities and others marginalized by the existing set – up for going to the centre to renegotiate the Nigerian federation. They are saying how can you make such important pronouncements, turn your back on your words the next day and still be posing as a leader to be relied upon?

I do not see how Chief Willie Obiano comes into this protest. In the first place the man is obviously busy with governance. You have only to witness the landmark projects he is building across the state to appreciate the point. Obiano’s developmental programmes are so enduring and of socio – economic benefit that he cannot afford to be distracted and all men of goodwill pray that he is never distracted with what Peter Obi chooses to do with himself. As an aside, Obi made building of industries one of his cardinal programmes during his campaigns but in all of eight years could only deliver on SabMilller breweries in which he is alleged to have some interest. On the other hand, Obiano in less than one year has attracted nearly $2 billion worth of investments in agriculture, power, gas, waste conversion, vehicle assembly plant etc in the State. In all of eight years, Mr Obi could not build a single flyover or dual carriageway in the State but in less than one year Governor Obiano is making steady progress on his 3 flyover projects.

Why should Obiano be disturbed with Obi’s ambition for a ministerial appointment in a PDP – led government? What other contribution can Obi make to APGA that he did not have the opportunity to do in all of eight years? Obi was not and is still not interested in growing APGA, so why should Obiano miss him? Under Obiano’s leadership of APGA, the party has acquired a pan Nigerian outlook. For the first time, APGA is having governorship candidates in Oyo, Nassarawa, Zamfara and Lagos States.

The deficit Obi’s politics suffers today is simply his own making. Obi has given himself away as a politician who makes promises easily but with hardly any intention of keeping them. During elections and when he is in need, Obi will cleverly say what will sound sweet to the people’s ears and move on, obviously thinking he has outsmarted them.

A few of his serial deceptions. During the campaigns for the 2003 governorship election, Mr Obi gave undertaking that once he became Governor, his children will relocate and have their education in Nigeria. That never happened. Later acts of broken promises led many to believe there was never any intention to enroll the children school in Nigeria.

Obi made solemn declarations to resign if salaries were not paid or delayed at the end of any month. But once he got into power, Obi cared less about his vow. Salaries were delayed for the greater part of his rule, sometimes stretching into the 8th of the next month.

Obi as Governor deceived the public that he was saving money for Anambra State by cutting down on the size of his entourage. Yet, authoritative sources tell us that the allowances of staff ordinarily supposed to make these trips were often built into the expense sheet but would not be released to these aides dropped from the travels. This money will not be returned to the treasury and the public will leave with the lie that money was saved for the State.

Mr Obi was widely reported to have called on security agencies to shoot on sight MASSOB activists soon after he came into office. But when public outcry greeted the story, Obi denied ever issuing such.

The same Obi routinely announced that he had only two pairs of shoes. On this I will only quote James Hadley Chase: ‘Believe this and you’ll believe anything.’ Why doesn’t Mr Obi add that he owns only two companies; only two bank accounts; only two cars; and only two million naira worth of assets?

Peter Obi Cannot Make Ihedioha Governor In Imo – Okorocha
March 4, 2015

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has declared that no matter what the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi says or does, he cannot make Chief Emeka Ihedioha governor in Imo state.

According to the governor, since Ihedioha commenced his campaign, Obi has visited Imo State more than five times for the rallies of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State. And on each occasion, he said, Obi takes ‘unfortunate delight in attacking’ the governor of Imo state.

Speaking through Sam Onwuemeodo, his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Okorocha noted that it seems Obi derives joy attacking his person but have forgotten he left more of liabilities than asset in Anambra state after eight years in office.

The statement read in part, “The only contribution Chief Obi has made to national politics for the South-East was to mortgage both the body and soul of APGA to PDP. Having stifled APGA, he has now become the Chief Campaigner for the PDP and its candidates. That is also the reason that, for the eight years he was governor in Anambra State, he could not add any value to APGA. In fact, he could not even secure a simple majority in the Anambra State House of Assembly for the Party (APGA).”

He told Obi to exercise restraints as he was laboring in vain, if the essence of his attacks on Okorocha was to install Ihedioha.

“And for the PDP and its governorship Candidate in Imo, they must have given Chief Obi a dead political project to execute. The Candidate or the PDP in Imo has no programme. They have nothing to lay hand on for the twelve years the Party was in Power in the State. That is why; they have been anchoring their campaigns on attacks and mudslinging against Governor Okorocha and his administration”, the statement read.

Okorocha maintained that the PDP in Imo State is comatose at the moment, because the Party wasted the 12 years they held sway in government.

“The Party’s guber Candidate cannot also help the situation because he is contesting against a man that has become an enigma in the State at present, looking at his monumental achievements in less than four years and compared with the twelve years of the PDP that left a very bitter taste in the mouths of the people of the State”, the statement stressed.

You are the one who actually needs to be saved from your pathetic way. Why are you not bothered about what Ihedioha said also? I have said it times without number Peter Obi is a PDP chieftain so he has the right to raise some facts for campaign purposes. Some points raised there are glaring and factual. So stop playing down on it.

Are you saying any m0ron is free is to say gibberish about Okorocha even when that person is not a saint ? CHINO YOU NEED JESUS CHRIST IN YOUR LIFE

oneeast:
You are still sounding so pathetic. Peter Obi is a PDP chieftain so he has the right to say whatever is wrong in Imo state so far as they are well verified like in this case. Yes Peter Obi left APGA at least he moved on with his life without trying to play godfather to anybody. So stfu pathetic fellow!

Ihedioha was in Onitsha to canvass for Vote from Imo Residents in Onitsha. What am not in support of is Peter Obi who is not a saint opening his bucal cavity to insult Rochas. Peter Obi used and dumped APGA for his selfish reasons. I am not what you say i am bro.

oneeast:
You are phoolish and silly at the same time. Did you read where the report said that Ihedioha visited Obi of Onitsha and Peter Obi in their residences in Onitsha? Did you also read that Ihedioha was in Onitsha to see Imolites resident in the city? Peter Obi is a PDP chieftain so he reserve the right to woo the millions of Imolites resident in Onitsha to vote for the PDP candidate which is Ihedioha. The same reason I said your matter is pathetic.

‘Imo’ll repay Okorocha’s financial recklessness by voting him out’

on March 02, 2015 / in News 12:46 am / Comments

Onitsha—Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate in Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha has restated that Governor Rochas Okorocha misappropriated N175 billion fund belonging to the local governments in the state and as such Imo people have rejected him for a second term in office.

Speaking to Imo indigenes in Onitsha, Anambra State, Ihedioha pointed out that investigation discovered that the outgoing governor of Imo State had collected from the Federation Account over N175 billion council funds from May 2011 to December 2014 which the APC administration could not account for.

He said there had not been any clear explanation from the state government as to how the funds were expended, adding that the governor had a case to answer over the misappropriated funds. “We have asked them what they used the money to do, they told us that they have used the money of the local government system collected between May 2011 and December 2014 to build 305 schools in Imo State, they told us that they used the money to build 27 hospitals in Imo State. We know that these projects have not been completed.

“We asked them how much did they use to build each of them. They also said that they used the proceeds from Ada Palm about N4billion as concessioned to Roche to build the 305 primary schools and the same 27 hospitals. They also told us that they used part of the N18.5 billion bond they collected from Ikedi Ohakim’s administration to also build the same primary schools and hospitals.”

According to the governorship hopeful, “to utilise funds belonging for local governments to other purposes other than the development of the council areas is a breach of the constitution and breach of the will of the people and that offence is punishable. The way to punish that offence is to vote that government of Rochas out.”

Anambra to Build 17 New Court Complexes

By Chukwujekwu Ilozue Correspondent, Awka

To improve administration of justice and quicken speedy trials, the Anambra State Judiciary has awarded contract for the construction of 17 new court complexes in various judicial divisions of the state.

Governor Willie Obiano made this known in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state when he commissioned the newly constructed court complex building for Ugwuochi Customary community.

Obiano, who was accompanied to the occasion by the Nigerian Ambassador to Spain and the wife of the late leader of he All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, said the court complexes include three High Court buildings at Ekwulobia, Ihiala and Aguleri as well as 14 Magistrate’s Court buildings in various parts of the state.

He vowed to improve the welfare of Judges, Magistrates and Customary Court members, saying his government was also building eight twin detached duplexes for Judges in the state and tconstructing Anambra State Judiciary complex at Millennium City in Awka, the state capital.

Obiano said he recognised the Judiciary as an important arm of the of government, and that his government was also working in the improvement or upgrade of the salary of the judiciary staff, assuring that he will improve the welfare of the judiciary in the state.

Turning to the people of Amichi, who received him in a grand style, Obiano said that he was not resting on his oars to improve the lot of the community and the entire Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state, which the Customary Court building was one of them.

He then urged them to vote APGA and all its candidates, including the Anambra South Senatorial candidate of the party, Chief Ernest Ndukwe, who was the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

Earlier in his speech, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Anambra State, Justice S.N. Okoye, who painted an ugly picture of the neglect of customary courts in the state, called on the Governor to come to the rescue of the customary courts by providing new and befitting structures for them.

He also asked Obiano to create more customary courts in the state as there have been mountain of cases in the courts and a lot of people in the state still depend on customary courts to address their grievances in the area of land disputes, interstate succession, matrimonial and its allied causes among others.

I LOVE IMO STATE

PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by RareDiamond: 5:43pm On Mar 03, 2015
You should know that Imo State does not start and end in Orlu. We have Okigwe Zone which has been abandoned by Gov Rochas.

millionaireman:
The pictures of that Orlu stadium left to decay have gone viral on social media. Only a fellow apparently from the zoo like you cannot copy and paste them any where.

Only a foolish Imolite who has no value for money can brood when a mention of the state of the stadium was made, because mention of our mega city, Owerri, was also made.
I even opened a thread on the ugly state of the stadium about six months ago on NL.

But before you suffer a heart attack, note that despite Okorocha's apparent drive to make Owerri a New York over-night, with denial of meaningful development projects in Orlu and other towns in Imo state, there appears to be tens of thousands of other voters here in Orlu prepared to vote Okorocha for second term.
