Breaking News: Obiano signs $61m Investments for Poultry production, targets 250 jobs

www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra
State just now attracted $61m investments into commercial poultry farming in the state. He signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lynden Integrated Farms Limited.
Performing the ceremony at Governor’s Lodge,Amawbia, Tuesday, for the establishment of a modern poultry production and processing farm in the state, Governor Obiano emphasized that Agriculture remains the number one pillar in his economic agenda.
According to him, the proposed ultra-modern poultry farm which will be located on seven hectares of land in Igbariam will generate 250 jobs during construction and 200 permanent jobs as well as 2000 indirect jobs subsequently.
Governor Obiano further observed that, “at the moment all the day-old chicks sold in the South East are brought in from Oyo state. We want to change that. We want all the day-old chicks sold in this area to come from Anambra State.”
He further explained that his plan is to approach agriculture in two areas – create a favourable and sustainable environment for commercial agriculture to thrive and to roll out programmes that will upgrade the class of machete and hoes wielding farmers to adapt to the use of new implements and improved seedlings.
“We have mapped out specific areas where cassava, rice and maize will best and established cooperatives in those specific areas. We plan to play to our full strength in agriculture,” the governor assured.
Earlier in his introductory remarks, the Chairman of Lynden Integrated Farms Limited, Mr. Clem Nwogbo had explained that his company plans to develop a two-phased modern integrated poultry production and processing farm with day-old chicks and then subsequently upgrade its facilities in order to provide high quality meat, eggs from layers and fresh and frozen poultry meat from broilers.
“The first phase of this facility will comprise the setting up of 200,000 broiler houses with 8 pens, 93,000 layer house with 3 pens, 33,000 pullets house with 1 pen, 2000 birds per house slaughter house and a feed mill. We plan to double the production capacity of this farm by extending the broiler and layer houses to accommodate 400,000 broilers, 186,000 layers and 66,000 pullets after 3 years of full operation of the first phase,” Mr. Nwogbo further explained.
According to him, Lynden Integrated Farms Limited has the capacity to position Anambra state as the center of excellence in poultry farming in the South East and South South.
Thanking Governor Obiano for creating the enabling environment that has encouraged investors to flock to Anambra State, Mr. Nwogbo explained that Lynden was committed to commissioning the facility 15 months after the turning of sod on the proposed site.
Mr. Nwogbo further revealed that the company plans to implement a robust CSR programme which will encourage the adoption of the best practices in poultry farming to small scale farmers, support educational initiatives in the host community and supply day-old chicks to farmers under and out-grower scheme.
Earlier, the Chairman, Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, and Traditional Ruler of Umuoji, Igwe Cyril Enwezor explained that the equity ratio of the company is 90% for the investing Company, 6% for the state government and 4% for the host community.

You are simply a m0ron. All that you said are useless.

Gbawe:
What tribal e-war am I joining? I am a proud Yoruba man and you and other decent Igbos should start telling off the OP and his ilk for peddling offensive and vile nonsense and empty braggadocio merely because the Yorubas are tolerant and accommodating. I will give you a contextual example. If you live next to a racist and he puts down black people before you everyday to say they are criminal, worthless , lazy, parasitic et al and that his race are "God's anointed" and such ignorantly supremacist drivel how long, even if you tolerantly ignored him for a while, before you tell him off for his ignorance? That is precisely what I am doing here. The Yorubas are not behind any ethnic group in Nigeria. They are to be respected for their egalitarian and tolerant ways and not mocked for it.

There is nothing at all wrong with me correcting the fallacies, completely ignorant and highly offensive drivel your kinsmen peddle about Yoruba folks all day long and 24/7 in cyberspace. If you want to "douse any flame" then people like you should start calling the OP and his sort to order. I don't have any interest in disrespecting any ethnic group, because we all play our part in the mix called Nigeria, but I will not tolerate emptily supremacist garbage that always targets the Yorubas as candidate of choice to be disrespected and discredited with ignorant and uncharitable lies from ingrates who should just get on peacefully with others but are instead obsessed with fighting everything and everyone. Play your part if you want peace my friend.

Intresting

GRACEGLORY:
Do you have a truck for haulage work? FMCL NIGERIA is in need of 20 Tonnages trucks (Box body) to convey her light imported products such as: DAIPERS (Huggies), KETCHUP, MAYONAISE, BAKED BEANS (Heinz'), The SME baby food et cetera.

The job is a permanent one as we distribute from Lagos (our Head Quarters) across Nigeria to our various warehouses (Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Benue, Kogi, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Bayelsa, Edo, Delta, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Kwara, Anambra, Rivers, Ogun, et cetera).

You are just making useless abuses and rants. M0RON !!!

Gbawe:
Please give it a rest. All decent Yorubas are embarrassed by the utterance of the Oba. We reject it and consider it repulsive. Yet don't come here talking about "intimidation" of any sort because that is not what the Yorubas are about and you know it. You cannot take some utterance from misguided elements to represent the position of the Yorubas. I have Igbo friends from childhood and I have to remind myself of these guys when the foolish OP you failed to criticise starts a polarising and divisive thread like this at a time when rapprochement is needed . You must remember that it is usually the ridiculous, disrespectful and ignorant talk from the OP that Yorubas, acclaimed to have one of the most well-established culture in Africa, resent and often react to.

You must be a drunkard hence your useless abuse and rants. Igbo states are light years ahead of Ibadan and Abeokuta in terms of development.

adeyemik:
Olodo jatijati. Abeokuta and Ibadan that you mentioned are far better and developed than Imo, Abia and Enugu. Before the mass migration of the ignos to Lagos in the early 1980, Lagos was the most developed state in Nigeria, even far developed than the UAE in the 80's. Ops, in what form and manner did the igbos developed Lagos.

Ops, read about Lagos developmental history from 1920 to date, stop watching Lagos developmental history from home videos/CD.

The burden is on you to tell which yor0ba state is a quarter as developed as Lagos ? Below are pictures of Ibadan the regional capital of the y0robas which is a big under developed slum.

ayowonder:
tell me which ibo state is as developed as lagos

PoliticsWithout The Igbos Contribution, Lagos Would Been Backward As Other Yoruba States by RareDiamond(op):
It is no longer news that the great Igbo people are true promoters of unity in Nigeria with the Igbos developing far away lands where they reside across Nigeria and West Africa. The wisdom, intelligence, brilliance, tolerance and ingenuity of the hard working Igbo people are not in doubt.

Lagos have been and is still the major non Igbo state beneficiary of Igbo developmental contributions with Igbos rapidly developing the real estate, commercial, manufacturing, entertainment, education and other socioeconomic structures of Lagos State. Thereby, greatly boosting the Lagos economy by the income generated from huge Igbo paid tax, provision of employment opportunities for Lagos residents by the large number of Igbo Industrialist and business men and women, provision of luxury and affordable accommodation which beautify Lagos unlike other Yoruba states, provision of social amenities like potable water, roads, health care and scholarships by the Igbos to Lagos resident as well as boost the quality of education by provision of quality private schools.

One of the major reason Lagos is the economic center of Nigeria is because the Igbos developed the manufacturing sector and control the Lagos markets and continue to invest and spend on the Lagos economy thereby improving the overall purchasing power of the Lagos economy.

I make bold to state that Lagos would have been under developed like other Yoruba states if not for the numerous vital Igbo contributions to its economy. Ask yourself why Abeokuta and Ibadan is backward and under developed despite being close to Lagos and being Yoruba regional headquarter respectively.
