10. Leg makeup

The rise of the miniskirt meant that women felt the pressure to put their best leg forward. By the mid 1960s, a new trend was emerging: leg makeup.

Makeup had been used on legs before, perhaps most notably during World War II when a shortage of stockings propelled women to draw on stocking seams with eyeliner to make it look like their legs weren't bare.

Women would carefully apply makeup to their legs to cover up blemishes, bruises, scars, and other imperfections and then further concealed with stockings.

The use of leg makeup shows just how conflicted women in this era were.

9. Smoking

Drinking in excess may have been taboo for women looking to attract a man, but smoking was considered attractive.

The tobacco industry targeted women in the 1960s, taking advantage of the growing feminist movement by portraying smoking as the pinnacle of gender equality.

Virginia Slims were launched as a women's cigarette in 1968, with the slogan "You've come a long way baby."

8. Submissive

In this era, women were still expected to be homemakers and sex objects. In spite of reforms made towards gender and racial equality, women still did not have the same rights as men.

It was legal for a bank to deny an unmarried woman a credit card whereby married women were often required to have their husbands co-sign.

In The Feminine Mystique, published in 1963, Betty Friedan summed up the frustration of the generation, writing, "A woman today has been made to feel freakish and alone and guilty if, simply, she wants to be more than her husband's wife."

7. Long, straight hair

Many men also wore their hair long at this time. The changing hairstyles weren't just about following fashion.

For many, they were also "acts of rebellion against the highly constructed female hairdos and very short male haircuts of the previous generation."

6. Going braless

By the late 1960s, many women were going braless as "a political, protest move symbolizing freedom and rejection of traditional views of femininity."

Fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent contributed to making going braless not just a form of protest but also a fashion trend.

His designs were always modeled by women who wore no undergarments beneath them and men being men have no choice but to find it attractive.

5. Exposed legs

Now, this is the one that can seduce majority of the men. I term it as a seduction placement.

The young ones found that displaying their physique was the most effective means of setting themselves apart from the older generation.

More attention was paid to the length and shape of a woman's legs and author Sheila Hardy wrote that many women felt they did not have the legs for a miniskirt.

4. Flat butts

The desire for more boyish figures was not entirely to please men or to conform to fashion. It was noted that "the changing shape of women's bodies has in many ways served to reflect larger cultural values."

One woman managed to reduced her 39-inch hips down to 34 inches through exercise, 'standing correctly,' and using 'a special rolling pin.'

Throughout history, "a thin, straight figure was prized" at times "when women were striving to demonstrate their equality."

RomanceMy Boyfriend Always Warn Me Not To Enter His Bathroom, I Didn’t Know Why Until by rasheylaw(op): 10:11am On Aug 17, 2020
My Boyfriend Always Warn Me Not To Enter His Bathroom, I Didn’t Know Why Until I Saw This

I nearly destroyed my own life in view of avarice, kindly read and learn from my story.

I am Sarah, I was born to a family of 6, consisting of my mother, my father, my siblings and I. My parent showed us the way of God, and we emulated their example, at least I did till I entered university.

I was extremely well-known in my primary, and secondary schools due to my uniqueness, the manner in which I talk, the manner in which I act, and behave was in every case how my parent showed me, I was even nicknamed “mummy pastor”. However, I changed after I entered university, I made terrible companions who acquainted me with new approaches of living one’s life.

I quit wearing responsible outfits, skirt, gowns amongst others. I turned to Jeans, and trousers. I got acquainted with their business, and which was dating rich Male students for cash. This was the easiest job I’ve ever done, while smoking, doing hard drugs alongside, I also began dating rich men, and each consistently satisfies me with money.

I started to carry on with my reckless style of living life, I scarcely conversed with my family, and well, I was disowned in the end. The friends I had made instructed me tuning in to guardians, family destroys one’s life, I didn’t realize they were absolutely wrong till I pushed myself into trouble. I met this young man on a well-known social media platform, and we got glued to one another in the blink of an eye. He was very rich that he got me a very nice car immediately I consented to date him, I was so happy, and was extremely glad that I tuned in to my friends guidance.

He had this gigantic mansion, and different exotic, and expensive cars, in any case, the most befuddling thing about him was that he had no job, and consistently says his dad was an extremely rich person even though he wouldn’t talk about his very rich father to me. Well, I wasn’t dating him to know his father, or his job, so I cared not, after all all I need from him was his money, how he got wasn’t supposed to concern me

To cut the crap, he had a very special bathroom in his mansion that he always warned me not to enter. He always spends not less than 3 hours whenever he entered the bathroom. I couldn’t understand why he would keep me away from just a bathroom, and couldn’t stop myself from wondering why he would spend hours in there. I got so much curious, and decided to check what was in the bathroom this faithful morning while he was out to visit his friends, luckily, I found the bathroom key in his wardrobe.

I opened the bathroom to see the shock of my life, I saw numerous computers, keyboards, many flash drives, microphones, earphones, I didn’t comprehend what was happening till police burst into the house, and I was captured. They claimed they traced his IP to the house, they said he was a notorious cybe criminal, and he has defrauded numerous individuals around the world. He told he needed to visit his friends, but he actually used me to buy time to run away.

They couldn’t find him, and I was released 6 months after they didn’t discover the proof that I was his partner. Please always listen to your parents, guardiance. God favor you as you do.

3. Flat chests

As models became thinner, curves became less desirable and as time goes on curvaceous women were passed over in favor of underweight teenagers.

Weight loss became the primary obsession of the ladies who tends to be viewed more appreciably by the men.

I still can't understand why the men would go for the flat chested ladies in those days unlike these day men goes for the huge cheated ladies

2. Thin Bodies

In the 1950s and early 1960s, voluptuous women like Marilyn Monroe were cultural icons.

The slim trend were more pronounced in those days and men don't really shy away from appreciating the women's slim nature.

They found the shape as being sexy and beautiful to the eyes and as time goes on models became thinner and thinner.

In the 1960's, things were really different such as the technological advances and even beauty standards.

Here are some of the most surprising and amusing things men found attractive those days.

1. Lighter Skin

Racism was rampant in the 1960s and despite the reforms made, the Miss America Pageant still didn't allow African-American contestants.

Even within the African-American community, a preference for lighter skin was apparent, and men would usually go for the white women, although this slowly began to change in the 1960s with people embracing their skin color.

Investment5 Strongest Signs He's Catching Feelings For You And Falling Hard by rasheylaw(op): 8:22pm On Aug 16, 2020
Guys can be confusing creatures. Does he like you or not? If you’re searching for signs he’s catching feelings for you, look no further!

Some of these signs are more obvious than others. It’s important that you look for more than one; perhaps two or three signs and you’re on solid ground. So, how many of these signs he’s catching feelings can you tick off your list?

#1 You’re always catching his eye. Let’s be honest, you can’t catch the eye of someone who’s not looking at you in the first place! If he’s staring at you in a cute kind of way, that’s a clear sign this boy has budding feelings for you. Of course, there is cute staring and altogether weird staring. Hopefully it’s the former, and not the latter!

#2 His friends know small details about you. Hopefully, he’s not telling them anything unnecessary, but if you meet his friends and they know your job, favorite TV show, etc., he’s been gushing to them about how wonderful you are. Definitely one of the signs he’s catching feelings!

#3 You receive cute, random texts.
If someone texts you, it is because they thought of you. It could be because they want to tell you something in particular. But, if you’re receiving ‘just because’ texts, that’s a sign that this guy can’t get you out of his mind!

#4 When he has spare time, he spends it with you.
Let’s be honest, most guys have many friends. They only have to click their fingers and they come running. Now, if this guy is choosing to spend his spare time with you, that’s a great sign. Of course, he shouldn’t spend all his time with you, but if you’re noticing him spending more and more of his down time by your side, you’re onto a winner!

#5 He pays attention to small details.
Did you tell him a funny, but insignificant story, about something that happened when you were a child? If he remembers it a few weeks down the line, that’s a great sign! Simply remembering small details about you means that he’s paying attention.

When these signs come your way, and you feel the same way, be sure to reflect them back and show your affection too. Putting up a wall because you’re confused about where you stand isn’t going to steer the relationship past these confusing first few months. Be open with your own feelings too.

Romance9 Relationship Facts You Should Note Now! by rasheylaw(op): 7:59pm On Aug 15, 2020
Everybody has an idea about how relationships should go but our opinions can be different from what the next person is thinking. What we know may not be entirely true but before you enter a relationship, or whether you are already hooked with someone, these are facts about relationship that you need to know:

1. Relationships are not the same
No relationship is created equal. Different. Different relationships have different ways of thriving. What might work best for you in your relationship may not work for another couple and vice versa so you need to stop any form of comparison of your relationship with others.

2. You must be ready to sacrifice
Relationship is a give and take situation. You don’t always have to be on the receiving end but you also have to learn to give out. Relationships thrive well on sacrifices and efforts made by both partners to make it work.

3. Communication is the bedrock
A good relationship is one where both partners the importance of communication. Open and sincere conversations make a couple feel happy and secured in their relationship. A couple without proper communication will end up breaking their relationship.

4. Sometimes you will feel lonely
Never enter a relationship because you want to feel the gap of loneliness in your life. Your partner may not be there 24/7 and you are bound to be alone at some point in your relationship.

5. The fight is inevitable
Every relationship is made up of two people from different backgrounds with different views and opinions. You can not always agree on the same things. It does not matter how much you love each other, there will be times you both will disagree and have arguments.

6. It requires more than love
Love is not enough to sustain a relationship. You require other things such as commitment, understanding, trust, good communication, honesty, and companionship for a successful relationship.

7. You will not always be happy
There are ups and downs in every relationship. We have our good moments and bad moments. There are days where your partner will step on your toes or might provoke you.

8. You can’t change your partner
You can’t change your partner – Change results because your partner has made a conscious effort to do so but you should not lie to yourself and take up the responsibility of trying to change your partner. You might be in for a wild goose chase.

9. Always recognize the warning signs
Do not ignore the red flags because you are scared to be afraid. You should know the kind of behaviors you are willing to accommodate. If you cannot do that, just walk over. You can always start over.

Hello is a general way of greeting, even with or without, to be more polite and mature I will advised you greet the person like Good morning/evening or Good day , since we are used to the word Hello while not put it this way eg Hello Good morning/evening or Good day.

Most times we don’t apply courtesy and we kind of lack manners even if its our elders calling us, we just pick the call and say hello, without even greeting and is very wrong..

Ways to enhance our spoken English .
1: Read educative books like novels.

2: Always jot down new words and look for them in the dictionary later.

In popular culture, the Bro Code is a friendship etiquette to be followed among men or, more specifically, among members of the bro subculture. The term has been popularized by Barney Stinson, a character from the television show How I Met Your Mother.

For most men (at least decent ones), it’s a real thing. They might not admit it to you. I guess it’s kind of like a secret fraternity book of guy etiquette or something. Yet, you’re still expected to understand when you’re making a tragic mistake or why your man’s acting a certain way.

Violators of the bro code will report to the Bro Council and are expected to accept whatever punishment deemed just and commensurate with the bro's violations.(if you're not a bro, then you won't understand).

Note for all guys.
Bros, as in close male friendships, are good! The female equivalent of this is like your bestie, "ride or die," etc.

The Bro Code are Below:

Anytime you hear about the name Dagrin, the word “legend” is not usually far from it. This is as a result of the life and times of the young and vibrant rapper who was considered as the mouthpiece of the masses then.

Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun a.k.a Barack O’Grin was a singer and a rapper who specialised in using English, Yoruba and pidgin English to create a lyrical masterpiece for his fans.

Back in 2009, he was rap star. His sophomore album was turning heads in the late 2009 and 2010. He was widely regarded as the new rap messiah. His brand of reality rap- a hustler’s dream, ambition and nightmares resonated well with millions of young Nigerians who were on the same path.

Unfortunately, Dagrin’s fame and progress was cut short when he suffered a ghastly motor accident On April 14, 2010.

Dagrin had a fatal accident as his car, a Nissan Maxima rammed into a stationary truck at night. There were unverified reports that Dagrin was drunk on the day of the incident as he never saw the truck that was parked opposite a police station.Dagrin went into a coma as a result of the collision and suffered internal bleeding which ultimately led to his death. At the time of the incident, there were conflicting reports on his health as some revealed that he was doing fine while others said he was in a critical condition. He was however pronounced dead later on and was laid to rest on Friday, April 30, 2010.

He was born on October 25, 1984 in Ogun state, Nigeria. His musical career began in 1994 till he passed away in 2010. In 2010, he was nominated for the Nigerian Entertainment Awards for Best Album (C.E.O.), Hottest Single “Pon Pon Pon”, Best Rap Act and Best Collaboration with vocals.

His album C.E.O. (Chief executive Omota English: Chief Executive Thug) won the Hip hop World Award 2010 for best rap album. From it came the singles “Pon Pon Pon”, and “Kondo” among others.Signed under the Label Misofunyin Entertainment, he also worked with superstars such as Sossick, D.J Neptune, MI, 9ice, Reminisce, Konga, Omawunmi, Ruggedman, Kode, OritseFemi, Kenny St. Brown, Sheyman, Dr. Frabz, Frenzy among others.

Dagrin was just 25-year-old when he passed away and was buried in 2010. His remains were laid to rest at the Atan Cemetery, Lagos state on Friday, April 30, 2010.

It is safe to say that DaGrin remains one of the Nigerian rappers who revolutionised the Nigerian rap industry. His music portrayed a cultural significance and societal realities an average Nigerian youth faces on the streets.

A movie of his life chronicles titled Ghetto Dreamz, starring Trybson Dudukoko, and Doris Simeon-Ademinokan as his girlfriend was made and released in April 2011. The movie title was inspired by a track off his “CEO” album titled “Ghetto Dreams.

May he keep resting in peace!

RomanceFunny Things Boys Did To Attract Girls Back In Secondary School. by rasheylaw(op): 9:19pm On Aug 03, 2020
Guys did practically anything to get the attention of a girl they liked and sometimes some of those things can be annoying, romantic, stupid or downright funny. Even in secondary school days, there were some boys that went all the way to attract girls, it was like they forget all sense of reasoning, dignity or self guidance when they were in "impress mode".

In this article we are going to focus on the very ridiculous things the guys did to impress and attract the girls they liked back in secondary school and if you are a guy then you must have done one or two of this things in your lifetime.

Boys refused to cry when punished

This was done by a lot of boys, once in a while when they get in trouble or misbehaved and they were punished by a teacher, they try their best to hold down the tears from dropping. Guys saw it as weakness to cry in front of girls even if they really wanted to, but some mischievous girls will still go all the way to come and console the boys or tell them "sorry", but sometimes this gesture will make things worst and some boys may not be able to hold down the tears any longer and may start crying.

Always staring at her in class

This was a very common practise by some lover boys back in secondary school, some even stare so long at the girl that sometimes they forget to face the teacher. This was so funny because they sometimes get caught either by the girl or by the teacher in class, and when asked " what were you looking at?" They will prefer to be punished than reveal the truth.

Tailoring the school trouser to look cool

This particular act got a lot of boys in trouble back in the day, some boys would go as far as tightening or shaping the size of the school trouser originally given to them. Some guys even did low waist style with their trousers all in a bid to impress the girls, but trust the strict teachers who punished them for it.

Changing hairstyle every week

This is so funny because boys mostly went against school authorities to perform this act, most secondary school always instruct their male student to always barb the low cut hairstyle but the lover boys are ready to rebel against the school authorities to impress and attract the girl they are crushing on at the time. So what they do is to constantly change their hairstyle in the hope of getting a good compliment.

Fighting other boys to prove their strength

As we all know girls are attracted to "the alpha male" or the macho man, so what the boys did in order to impress a female classmate and prove they are the leading guys, is to get into fist fight with their fellow classmate and many times even their seniors in school. This was funny because sometimes they may win and other times they may get embarrassed and became the laughing stock of the class.

They gave her anything she needed to borrow

This can be funny and at the same time romantic. The lover boys goes to great extent to prove there feelings, some can be stupid by giving the only pen they have to their crush and even get punished by the teachers in the end. Apart from pen they also gave out their notebooks, stationeries, food snacks and even answers to academic questions.

Talking to other female classmate to make her jealous

This was a smart strategy used by boys back in secondary school days to make a girl they liked very jealous. They try to talk to her friends in front of her, just to make her feel some type of way. This technique was used by many boys to make a girl they had a crush on in school give them a second look.

Writing lover letter

When all the above have been done and nothing has come out of it and the girl have not noticed them or looked their way, some boys will use this method in a desperate attempt to express their feelings. This was a very bold step and one needed to have a strong will to perform this task, because many things could go wrong, they might get laughed at, rejected, reported and even punished if a teacher found out.

These are some of the funny things guys did back in secondary school to attract a girl they liked. Mostly in senior secondary school, friendship became stronger, boys began to have feelings and crushes started happening and boys did funny things to attract girls.

* If you are a guy, comment what funny things you did.

* If you are a lady, comment what funny things boys did to impress you.
