In the case of of your decoder Strong srt4955b you will have to run the file on the Boot On Menu method although it is not advisable to use this method frequently; it is used as a last result. The question is why your decoder is unable to read data from the USB pendrive, are you properly extracting your decoder file? 1 Like |

Mfumu:I would prefer you re-name the s\w as either flashfile.bin, force_upgrade_rom.bin or rom.bin and inject each of the s\ws individually, it is also possible to upgrade a rom.bin the normal way via USB. If you still face a "No Match File Error" and each of the three files refuse to load "normally" then you can try to inject the new s\w via the Boot On Menu method. DO NOT PRESS repeatedly: 1. Press & hold down the MENU\ OK button on the front panel of the STB with one hand. 2. Turn ON the receiver with the other hand and only release the MENU\ OK button once the "Upgrade Main Code Loader" appears on your tv monitor and the system starts "Erasing Flash". If all the above fails then SunPLUS PC Loader will be the final solution. Kindly post the STB INFO version of the NuSKY n3GSi u.HD. |

Mfumu:I'm Good; s\w in question is for which decoder? PC Loader is an option but in these days of USB Interface a PC Loader is a last result. If the decoder is based on SunPLUS Chinese main-board, try renaming the software to flashfile.bin If you still face a "No Match File Error" the next practical thing is to rename the same file as rom.bin and force the s\w using the Boot On Menu method. |

Chinedu7: Mfumu:The only satellite receivers recently reported to be opening Xsony @68east are STARSAT sr2000HD EXTREME & STARSAT sr90000 uHD EXTREME. The recent s\w released by FreeSAT HD is no longer working on 68east due to a system upgrade by the broadcaster, none of the other Chinese main-board STBs in the market including Strong HD have released a working viable s\w in a long time. aboomer:@aboomer, I have not personally tested the s\w since i'm not in possession of a SunPLUS 1506t satellite decoder. All the s\ws i have posted are compatible with STBs found in 9ja. A tCAM Server Plug-in can be injected into a MOD s\w using a HEX EDITOR but this will require the services of a SoftWare Coder. The satellite industry in Africa now needs dedicated SoftWare Coders specifically for this purpose but the greater question is who will meet their financial expenses. |

blackz:I have not tested any of the s\ws outlined above, i can't confirm any latest s\w for any of these decoders. It was the duty of Satellite Dealers who imported these decoders to request for upgrade s\ws from the Chinese manufacturers. The s\ws are based on compatibility. As for XSony, maybe 66east. Q-Sat HD satellite receivers were based on chipset SunPLUS 1512, the Chinese will no longer support this Chipset, unless there is reciprocating sales purchases from China. Simply put forget Q-Sat HD, support is on NuSKY n3GSi uHD. |

The notable difference is the sim slot, all other factors are constant including tCAM Server Plug-in. Assuming your 1-year tCAM Account is now expired, the most realistic thing is to force Co-BOX HD s\w into Strongest STG 9800A HD satellite decoder via rs232 null serial cable using SunPLUS AvaiLink PC loader [Availink STB SunPLUS UART-Develop Tool v.1.5.0]. Kindly take note that there will never be "any news of an update" The compatible s\w is a "first aid" approach and is not as a result of direct communication from the Chinese manufacturers. The satellite dealers in 9ja are to blame for failing to request for s\w updates of all the STBs they sell although it is now a known fact that the Chinese will never fully support any STB without a reciprocating sales purchase. The days of releasing six decoders a year [Q-Sat HD 2013\14\15] in a bid to woe the African market are long gone; now the Chinese are impregnating their decoders with in-built IKS tCAM accounts in a bid to yet again woe the African market using the same satellite dealers ...at the end of the day it's business. What i do is purely out of FTA passion. I'm based in Nairobi and i have never seen most of these decoders with my eyes; i can only see a decoder in terms of it's chassis main-board & STB INFO. Take a clear snapshot of Strongest STG9000A HD STB INFO & Version. Incase i come across any compatible s\w i'll inform you. |

Before the up-grade create a "dump.bin" file and back-up your current Strongest STG 9800A HD s\w. This will enable you to re-inject the original s\w in-case of any issues. I have not personally tested the compatible s\w since i'm not in possession of the STB. Kindly report back any results even if the STB displays a "No Match File". obyback:True talk, make it InVerto Twin Black Ultra. InVerto Quad Black Ultra is also another good option and it works best on Vertical Polarity. These LNBfs don't come cheap, they are very costly. |
