@Noble1010, there has never been any support for most if not all of the Chinese STBs found in the Naija market.

The ViewSAT vrt4950h in question never fully upgraded with the compatible s/w. The ViewSAT vrt4922HD is different since it has a Serial Number it could mean the mainboard is of a supported brand. Open up the decoder & snapshot the mainboard chassis ID.

Hi Raskush, nice research work you are doing. Look into qsat q28g, Nusky n3gsi and startrek sr-9990. A work around may be possible for qsat users

@logonlaredo, QSat Q28G is based on chipset SunPLUS 1512 and the Chinese are no longer providing support for all QSat HD satellite receivers, Chinese support is currently based on NuSky HD & OnSAT HD. I don't directly liaise with the Chinese so i'm unable to "Look into qsat q28g ..." the work around for QSat STBs in my view is impossible.

Good morning Raskush. i have gone through the process of using the sunplus loader, i come to know that one need a pc that has a serial port and a reciever that has Rs232. From my little observation i learned that most of china receivers (G-sat,etc ) doesn't have RS232 port. please is there any method of forcing the software ?

@agaj4life, Morning. Most if not all Chinese main-board STBs have rs232 connectors. Once you inject a compatible s\w the Boot Logo changes so a PC loader is a vital tool, the 3D ULTRA t800 HD HIGH CLASS & G-SAT 9500 HD Boot Logos will change to that of EuroSAT P8 Smart HD so s\w injection via PC loader is a must.
In the following Chinese main-board STBs based on SunPLUS 1506G [H\W Version: dvbs-1506g-V1.0-OTP]:
CO-BOX HD
3D LASER 9950 PLUS HD
STRONGEST STG 9800A HD, s\w can be "forced" through a 3-Step USB Upgrade. Unfortunately 3D ULTRA t800 HD HIGH CLASS & G-SAT 9500 HD are based on SunPLUS 1506F [H\W Version: dvbs-1506f-V1.0-OTP]. S\ws injected via the 3-Step process are irreversible.

"rom.bin\ flashfile.bin\ force_upgrade_rom.bin" file formats ONLY work when you inject an updated s\w.

Could you kindly send me snapshot of the G-SAT 9500 HD main-board chassis ID.

@Abuwaleed, Evening. i was surprised when i saw your request on-line for 3D Ultra HD t800 s\w.
The files are not corrupt, i have downloaded both SunPLUS Availink STB_Develop_Tool v.1.5.0.1 & v.1.5.0.8. There seems to be an issue with your PC, the last time it displayed "Com Port Cannot Be Detected" now it says file is corrupt.

Your winRAR file extracter has an issue, try using 7-zip extracter found here:

Injection of the s\w will change the Boot Logo and delete tCAM & DQCAM Server Protocols. Before any s\w upgrade it is wise to first create a backup file of the current s\w in your device, do not be in a hurry to upgrade & inject new s\w. You will need this file in future especially for those in need of tCAM & DQCAM Server Protocols; the new s\w is patched with DSCAM Server Protocol which opens strictly Asian satellites.

@drandonzero, Morning. Pardon me for taking too long to respond to your request on Jamii Forum regarding DCL 9800HD compatible s\w which is based on chipset Montage cs-xx01. The s\w that most probably will match the DCL 9800HD is that of iCONe B22 COMBO HD.
The s\w will change the Boot Logo and this process requires PC Upgrade Tool Loader, unfortunately the official website does not provide any info on the PC Loader.
Montage WinSTBUpgrader v2.42.0.0 PC Loader is available but the precise chipset info is required. Kindly open up your STB and take a snapshot of the main-board chassis ID.

Most of the satellite receivers found in Naija are based on Chipset SunPLUS 1506G\F\T and the basic rule to access any patch menu is as follows-
On the RCU: Press MENU >>>SETTING >>>MULTI-MEDIA >>Press 1506\ 1512 >>ENABLE PATCH

@Abuwaleed, Morning. Kindly post a snapshot of the STB INFO of the 3D ULTRA t800HD including the chassis ID main-board so as to identify the best compatible s\w.
The challenge is that any s\w update will completely delete tCAM & DQCAM Server Protocols. My advice is don't inject any s\w you come across & upgrade your STBs without prior research because you will permanently brick your satellite receivers. The sole responsibility of any STB lies with Chinese manufacturers who have refused to support their products.
Compatible s\w is a first aid measure which ensures longevity of your a satellite receiver.

I think once you put software that is not the real viewsat files it will affect the stb not to detect the signal again.so when you are putting software on viewsat be careful

Compatible s\w does work on STBs that share identical chassis ID main-boards; the main reason we use compatible s\ws is because the Chinese manufacturers will not release any new s\ws of most STBs found in the Naija market.

One member of this forum, @blackz managed to successfully convert 3D LAZER 9950 plus HD to ECHOLiNK 880D+ HD using s\w from the Pakistani forums.

The issue became complicated when you erroneously injected Co-BOX HD s\w into ViewSAT vrt4750 HD. I requested for a backup s\w from this forum but nobody was willing to forward the flash file that would have been used to wake up the bricked ViewSAT vrt4750 HD.

@bonfat, Morning. ViewSAT vrt4950HD has no forthcoming latest s\w. We attempted to install a compatible s\w which came up with signal bar errors. Could you kindly assist us with the back-up s\w file of ViewSAT vrt4950HD so as to revive the bricked satellite receiver. After decoder is revived we shall continue with s\w tests.

I have tested it on tiger T800, T245 Ultra, srt4955b and on 4922 series. T800 I got it with one the one did not, t245 only three gave me those channels out of six, srt4955 one out of so many, 4922 series non, qsat non, is like that frequency has a problem.

@abohwun, there is likelihood that this broadcast is a MultiStream broadcast: DVB-t2Mi, this maybe the reason why some of the decoders you tested were unable to lock on this frequency.

@blackz If the decoder you are injecting s\w is unresponsive refrain from further attempts. I will revisit the issue once you are clear on STB to be upgraded.

@blackz, Evening. Kindly note that the s\w links i posted are compatible and a "No Match File" is sometimes inevitable; the s\ws were based on S\W Version SCB4 V7.11.18 according to the STB INFO you provided.

Confirm the following:
1. What is the size of the flash file in 3D Lazer 9950 PLUS HD- 4Mb or 8Mb?
2. Is the STB a sim receiver or connects to internet via USB modem?
3. Does the STB have a Multi-Media Interface?
4. Does the STB support tCAM server?
I will also need a snapshot of the main-board revealing the chassis ID.
