tpia: you're begging the question.
Those 300 languages are an exaggeration. Typical!!!!
One of these days Nigerians should sit themselves down and ask each other exactly how big the country is with these their so-called 250 to 300 tribes. Every village doesnt have to be a tribe unless people dont understand the meaning of tribe or language. Ras Pwn: I think you're trolling so I'm not about to waste time replying you 0/10.
If you're not trolling, you must be young or/and naive for having that thought. So you expect a nation of more than 300 languages and dialects to give up their language. Do you sincerely believe that Nigeria's "underdeveloped" status is because we speak many languages? I thought it was our corrupt and inefficient leaders, I must be dumb. |

JJYOU: can u copy and paste here where i said you people keep talking about corrupt leadership as if these guys are brought from ghana or ivory coast. these are products of a corrupt society. what do u expect? I was actually talking to the thread starter who wanted a BAN on local languages. If the Nigerian society is corrupt, what makes it that way? The languages. I'm saying languages have no significance compared to the bigger problems of Africa. |

This is a lie and your reasoning is flawed on so many levels. - Fela is the originator of Afro-beat, was he super-rich? No - Kool Herc is the originator of hip-hop, is he rich? No, his house just got taken away. You are the originator of fools. |

davidylan: Its unfortunate but a lot more of the "dumb" comes from your end. Does it make sense that in 20m yrs . . . conditions were suitable for more complex evolution but not evolution of simpler life forms? Man alone has over 30,000 recognized genes . . . How was the environment suitable for the fly but not man? why are we yet to find more elementary forms of the fly?
I'm not sure you understand the complexities of evolution at all . . . you simply saw a chance to pretend as if you have something but wool between your ears. Go play on the romance boards.
Ha! Typical Davidylan rant. Your formula never changes, a little substance in the beginning, some personal insults at the end. You remember that time we almost had an argument about religion? What did you do? You ran away and got the mods to lock the thread. I know more about evolution, probably more than you do. Back to the topic: Since you believe evolution is not happening, I assume you also believe environmental conditions are not changing. So if environmental conditions have not changed so much, why should the fly evolve? I also think the fly is fake too. Religious fundamentalists have been known to falsify fossils. Remember Piltdown man? |

^^^ People who say things like "take it back to the streets" or "street cred" actually don't care about lyrics, they care about the beat. Using that logic, those who care about the beat are the illiterate ones and those who care about the lyrics are the smart ones. Case Closed. |
Nairaland General › Re: Happy Birthday, Mr. Charles Darwin by RasPwn(m): 1:52am On Feb 13, 2009 |
davidylan: Do not bug Huxley down with facts . . . he doesnt care. Allow him to spew his anti-christianity jargon . . . listening to him you'd be tempted to think he is truly a scientist . . . that he doesnt know such elementary facts is testament to his illiteracy. they just copy paste what they see from atheist webpages.
Below are fossilized amber remains of a fly and mite found in northern Peru . . . they are estimated to be about 12-15 million yrs old. Why did they fail to evolve?
https://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j82/davidylan/fly.jpg https://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j82/davidylan/mite.jpg You know animals don't just evolve, right? If the environment has been suitable to the flies for 2 million years, why would they have to evolve? I'm not joining this conversation, I just saw your post and saw the "dumb" in your argument. |

eldee: I know this might be the most controversial thing I've ever spewed on this forum, but, fact is, there is only one reason why lyrical content is important to the critical reception of hiphop. It's because half the artists and listeners are uneducated anyways. Kinda like the proverbial city of blind men. This is the reason why people are praised for spewing what another person already learnt from reading books and watching CNN. Why do y'all think Common's called Black Man's CNN?? Because the black man will refuse to go to school in order to understand CNN, but then he'll come back and listen to KRS-One and claim he's deep.
Nas comes out to scream Hiphop Is Dead and errone goes, 'damn, this is soo deep' . . . fcukin hell, in the educated circles, it's called the incorporation of subcultures by the ruling class and they've sure predicted it since God knows when.
For you lot, when you're inclined towards intellect, you listen to rap, for other people, they read wide, watch educative stuff, and sumtimes GO TO SCHOOL and then listen to hiphop as a form of entertainment.
Yeah, Obama's best musician is Jay-Z, but nope, he didn't get his silky communication abilities and encyclopedic brains from Hov, he got it from freaking Havard Law School. So when next you think you're on sum 'high intellectual level' cus you're listening to Thugz Mansion, ask yourself if you've gotten any smarter than all those CEOs of multimillion dollar companies that will rather listen to Jazz. No disrespect bro but while this is the most controversial thing you ever said, it also happens to be the dumbest thing I've ever read. I've never heard anyone call Common black man's CNN and the last time I checked, a lot of hip-hop heads still regarded KRS-One as a crazy conspiracy theorist. I listen to music for entertainment but I also want to get the feeling that the musician is creative with his lyrics. The extra points come if the musician is socially conscious, not because I'm not educated but because I love some substance. To disprove your point completely, I'll point out that the uneducated people who listen to hiphop don't listen to KRS-one or Common, they listen to Soulja Boy. |

Did anyone record the game for me? I found about 45 minutes of it online. http://www.zshare.net/video/55493004f1070922/ The players were lazy and it didn't look like they were playing with a plan, it just looked like they were playing kick am mek I follow. KANU? OLOFINJANA? MIKEL? SHITTU? UTAKA? Mikel belongs on the bench, he's not a creative midfielder, he hasn't been one for 3 years. As a defensive midfielder, he's not as good as Obodo or Ajilore. Olofinjana doesn't even deserve to be in the team at all. Kanu starting games? He deserves to be something like a bench motivator/ supersub, that's all we need him for. Hopefully, we'll get Obasi in the next game and probably Siasia too. |
Sports › Re: Nigeria (0) Vs Jamaica (0) on Wednesday, 11th February 2009 by RasPwn(m): 4:24am On Feb 11, 2009 |
I'll be in school when the game's being played tommorow, whoever records the match for me will be my friend. Please somebody, it shouldn't be hard if you're as good with computers as my grandma in the village.
And I really don't think Jamaica is a 'weak country.' A lot of those who say this fail to remember a game we played against the reggae boys right before the World Cup in 98, we got played on that day. We ended up getting a 2-2 draw at Onikan(I'm probably wrong) but they passed the ball around better than us. My rant is probably pointless but all I'm trying to say is that the Jamaican national team is good, a lot better than the FIFA ranking says. |
