I really doubt the figures too.
How did he come about the credit facility? I mean it's not like soya beans oil is that competitive given the numerous cheaper alternatives.
How does such a factory ever tend to make profit?

I've been thinking the same thing. See WF Kumuyi at 79. He's strong and mentally agile.i want to know what these men eat and do that keeps them healthy at this old age. I just pray they write journals and that their biographies be published so that I can get to see what their daily routine look like. They are definitely doing something right and I'd like to learn it.

Demanding years of experience for junior developer roles is global. The founder of fastAPI even said so. He saw a job requiring 4 years of that technology experience but he himself created it 1.5 years ago. People should treat job requirements as a wishlist. If 5 years of experience is required. Read it as we are very okay with 6 months of experience. Get to the interview and let them decide.

Experience != Skill level.

Hahaha, I get it now. Anyway, programmers shouldn't give up no matter what. Landed my first gig after 6 interviews, it's all good now.

AgricultureRe: The Hidden Dangers Of Chemical Fertilizers On Crops. by Raustin(m): 4:30pm On Jul 13, 2020
Alarmist.
Viclas:
Over the years, fertilizers, with their richness in nourishment, have evolved from small planting miracles to bountiful harvests.
This is especially true for chemical fertilizers, since they increase the size of these rich harvests each year since the 1930s. Not only are chemical fertilizers growth advocates, but they’re also cost-effective for farmers and growers. However, should we still be concerned about the side effects of this planting miracle?

First off, chemical fertilizer are made from chemicals that are processed by using chemical treatments, unlike organic fertilizer which are made of natural ingredients (plant and animal remains, or organic waste).

Learn How You can Sell Digital Products in Nigeria And Become Successful
Fertilizer need to be composed of macro-nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus in order to enhance plant growth.

However, chemical fertilizers tend to have a lot of nitrogen, which can prove damaging to both the environment and life, if left unchecked.

To make matters worse, we only understand the gist of the problem, and not the whole story of it; and it will take years, unfortunately, for the world to address such a problem.

To better understand the dangerous, we put together a list of the dangers of chemical fertilizers and how they can affect the environment, and what that can mean for human health.
• Less Nutrients
Crops, such as vegetables, are supposed to be packed with nutrients, and even promote human health. But when food crops use chemical fertilizers, they will be robbed of the amount of nutrients that humans need for a healthy lifestyle.
While elements such as nitrogen and fast-acting plant-growth chemicals are promoted in these fertilizers, essential nutrients such as calcium, zinc, and iron will be lacking in the food that people eat. Thus, these crops will have less nutritional value, when these fertilizers are applied to them.

• Chemical Burn
Among the dangers of chemical fertilizers is what we know as chemical burn. As mentioned earlier, chemical fertilizers tend to be high in nitrogen count. Nitrogen is responsible for speeding up the growing process; however, if you apply too much of this fertilizer, then you may be doing more harm than good to your plants.

Too much exposure to these chemicals can cause plant leaves to turn yellow or brown, thus damaging the plant, killing it, and counting it as a loss. Chemical leaf scorch is a common condition that plagues crops, whenever chemical fertilizers aren’t distributed properly. Moderate usage should be key here, but sadly, it can still be tempting to use more of it to produce more crops.

• Acidic Soil
Chemical fertilizers can prove damaging to soil, once it seeps down to the ground. And as soil becomes more acidic to the chemicals (including excess amount of nitrogen), organic matter decreases, and the topsoil becomes so toxic that crops cannot grow and survive in it.
One solution may be to use clay soil, instead of sandy soil, to help slow down the effects of excess chemical fertilization; however, that still doesn’t seem enough, when considering what can happen just below the surface, if these chemicals seep deeper into the ground.

• Water Contamination
Just below the surface is groundwater; and it can be easy for chemical fertilizers to seep into the earth and get into this water. Once the chemicals find its way into this water, they can make their way into larger bodies of water, which accounts for plant and animal life. Not to mention, excess amounts of nitrogen can kill off fish that live in these affected waters.

• Instigates Global Warming
However, the biggest problem remains: global warming. The production of carbon dioxide accounts for much of global warming; however, nitrogen also accounts for it, though not as much as carbon dioxide.

With cars, engines, and power plants already contributing to the problem by releasing nitrous oxide into the atmosphere, the use of chemical fertilizers isn’t helping matters by indirectly adding more nitrogen to the environment.

Conclusion
Understanding the dangers of chemical fertilizers is important to us because it can be hazardous, whether farms and growers use them in moderation or excessively. However, it’s always tempting to use more to increase plant growth, despite its long-term, damaging consequences to both the environment and human health.

Consider using safer alternatives such as natural fertilizers and/or sustainable methods that won’t damage the crops, or infect soils to where they cause plants to die. Crops need to have nutrients to grow and survive, and so do human beings; let’s try to keep it that way.

Statistics released between 2015 and 2019 on their articles about Ngozi Okonjo Iweala showed they only published two neutral articles. The rest were full of hatred and propaganda.
No sane organisation will take them serious. They're not different from blogs who just want clicks, even at the expense of truth.

BusinessBefore You Call Yourself An Entrepreneur... by Raustin(op): 3:12pm On Jul 12, 2020
Found this on Facebook and think it's working sharing
Few things you should understand before you call yourself an Entrepreneur.

1) Entrepreneurship isn't side hustle.

2) Entrepreneurs aren't hustlers.

3) If you run a one man-army business you're not yet an Entrepreneur.

4) If you do not have a business structure and system in place you're not an Entrepreneur.

5) If you aren't paying salariesssssss, you're not an Entrepreneur.

6) If you're yet to have recurring customers (loyal customers) who buy from you without any marketing support, you're not an Entrepreneur.

7) If your business has no shareholders, no equity stake, no form of external investment (aka other people's money) you're still a business owner not an entrepreneur.

cool If your business isn't paying tax you're not an Entrepreneur.

9) If you're yet to build a working B2B relationship with any financial institution, e.g Banks, you're not an Entrepreneur.

10) If your immediate community has no clue you business exist, you're still a Business Owner.

11) If your business has no Board of Advisors or Directors, you're not an Entrepreneur.

12) If your business cannot survive without your presence or input for at least 6 months to 1 year, you're not yet an Entrepreneur.

13) If your Business Name has no Brand Equity you're still a business owner.

So, if you're not an Entrepreneur yet, what are you.

Level 1) You're A Professional
You're the product, You're the Business.

Level 2) You're A Business Owner.
You have a product. You carry out situational transactions. Zero Structure. No systems. No clearly defined Strategy.

Level 3) You're An Entrepreneur.

The reason why many aren't growing in business is because they ascribe Level 3 title on themselves while they're still on Level 1 or 2.

Sadly you cannot jump the process.

Also, do you know there are many Professionals who are wealthier than Entrepreneurs?

Elon Musk became a Billionaire as Professional before becoming an Entrepreneur.

You can build wealth being a Professional or a Business Owner or an Entrepreneur.

However, being an Entrepreneur entails more than mere titles or chasing the Benjamin.

Entrepreneurship is about Legacy.

It's about building a generational economic institution (business) that will outlive you.

To build a legacy, you must die to self.

Entrepreneurship entails sacrificing it all to build a business that will serve humanity, provide jobs and means of livelihood for those living and future generations to come. Some of whom you may never meet in life.

Before you call yourself an entrepreneur, reevaluate and reappraise.

Count your cost.

LiteratureNnedi Okorafor's Binta by Raustin(op): 2:43pm On Jul 12, 2020
Nnedi Okorafor's Binta

I've been reading Binta by Nnedi Okorafor.
The book is very similar to Who fears death and Akata Witch.
It's main protagonist is a young woman who at the beginning of the story is about to complete her 11th Year rights.
It uses the wilderness. It describes a fluidity between magic and science or aptly put it elevates science and technology to a futuristic level where it is almost supernatural.

The Young Protagonist is faced with a malignant evil, I must add that all the antagonists her books I've read so far are men who have held important positions in societies.

Nnedi's books have a strange fascination with reinventing death. She describes death through the experiences of her lead character as both a height of spirituality and a n ultimate end that should be anticipated instead of dreaded.
My attraction to her works is the fantasy.
She uses her vivid imagination to evoke and conjure the world in which her story is set.

Although all authors are distinct in themselves and comparison wouldn't do much justice, it's very easy to notice how Nnedi's vivid creation of fantasy is similar to JRR Tolkien's, at least in my own opinion.

I observe something about Nnedi Okorafor and Chinua Achebe . Achebe's Wikipedia page identifies his nationality as Igbo. The same way Nnedi's Biography on her Akata Which Identifies her Parents as Igbo (with Nigerian in Parentheses).

This is another reflection of strong autonomous spirit that Igbos have. Could it be due to the growing disenchantment with Nigeria as a country or due to,on Achebe's Part, the fact that he was once a Biafran ,(and still is at heart)?
LiteratureReview Of Chinua Achebe's "There Was A Country" by Raustin(op): 2:36pm On Jul 12, 2020
After Reading There was a country by Chihua Achebe I am left with a strong disk-like for the way the Nigerian Army went about the Civil War.

Achebe used his literary prowess to Paint the Nigerian Army as high handed in their War and sought sympathy for the Biafran side from his readers.

His main Villain in the book was General Yakubu Gowon. he described Gowon as soldier with not too outstanding personality traits or intelligence as a against his emphasis on the pedigree of Col. Ojukwu.

This bias in narration is expected because himself was a key player in the Biafran government while it lasted. the book is a narrative that would interest any history lover because it gives a perspective on the intellectual and diplomatic battles that were fought during the war.

I would also recommend that to get a balanced view , you'd read opposing accounts by actors on the Nigerian side. Gen Obasanjo's books would do good justice.

Achebe crafted the book in such away that he gave a little bit fair criticism of Biafra.
In the book he often criticized some actions Ojukwu took and pointed out what could've been done better.

I try to judge a book by how it makes me feel after reading it and how much verifiable information it carries.

The book satisfied my curiosity to understand the Biafran argument.it also provided viable statistics to ascertain claims that have been made previously. For example,it can be inferred that Achebe posited that Nigeria's economic progress as a country was connected to the entrepreneurial spirit of the Igbos.infact he celebrates the Igbo culture of individualism and semidemocratic leadership.

He claims these traits are what made the Igbos progressive (more progressive than northern Nigerians). I don't intend to debate that but it seems the statistics he used in his books have proven these claims to be factual.
As it is prevalent with any historian little attempt is made to criticize ones own side so as to appear unbiased and objective.this skill appears severally in Achebe's books as he mentioned things the Biafran government could've done better and some atrocities committed by the Biafran soldiers.but these criticisms did little to balance the scale on which the Nigerian soldiers were tilted as unintelligent-almost-blood-thirsty savages and the Biafran soldiers as smart elite forces that were able to improvise and maximize impact despite their short comings.

Achebe boldly chastisd Britain for refusing to assist in the war effort either to broker peace or pressure Nigeria to cease fire. Perhaps this informed his dislike for Yakubu Gowon as he called Gowon a stooge of the crown.
The book gives glimpses of Achebe's Life. How the war affected him,his friends and family. Many persons claimed that Biafra won the war of propaganda against Nigerian troupes. the possible Reason behind this victory is seen in the assembling of intelligentsia on the Biafran side with the formation of citadel press where very important academic and literary genii gathered to document the Biafran struggle in different literary styles. The result is lament of the deer and how the leopard got it's claws

. Two books that propagated the Biafran agenda

I wonder why Nigerian history is not taught in schools. even autonomous state governments and local governments have deliberately refused to teach history.discussions on their Nigerian civil war should be heard loudly from the classroom. more actors in the war should document their experiences so as to preserve history and give the future a wjolisisyic view of what really happened.

I would love to read Yakubu Gowon's own memoir. I hope I can find a book written by him on the war.

On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate this book 6.3
