The twitter handle is not verified unlike handles of other Governors in the south west.It is hard to believe that following the embarrassment that occurred yesterday a sane person will tweet this rubbish.

It took the intervention of the vice president to calm down the situation as even Adams Oshiomole could not salvage the situation.

The president had to be shielded by his body guards as he was almost stoned by aggrieved party members when he lifted the hands of the Governorship aspirant for endorsement.

FG to review revenue sharing formula over minimum wage

The Federal Government yesterday resolved to engage governors of the 36 states of the federation and the Council of State in a review of the nation’s federal allocation sharing formula.The review is part of demands by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) prior to its accepting the implementation of the proposed N30,000 National Minimum Wage for Nigerian workers.
Following the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, it was gathered that if agreed upon, the proposed wage would be taken care of as prescribed by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The NGF had recently sought a new fiscal restructuring plan on the grounds that economic challenges in the states would make payment of the new wage difficult.Although the Minimum Wage Tripartite Committee led by the former Head of Service of the Federation, Ama Pepple, had recommended N30,000, the Federal Government agreed to pay N24,000, while the state governments insisted on N22,500.

A presidency source privy to the closed-door deliberations at yesterday’s NEC meeting said the Federal Government has decided to take the governors’ request to the Council of State for a definite resolution on the wage crisis.He said: “We are making progress. We will be meeting with the Council of State on Tuesday, January 22. The governors are asking for a review of the revenue sharing formula, and government is looking at that. The Minimum Wage Technical Advisory Committee that was inaugurated recently is looking into the revenue sharing formula.”

Asked to be specific on whether the Federal Government has agreed to allocate more resources to state governments, the source said: “Everything is in progress.”

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige said NEC discussed the matter and agreed to meet members of the Council of State for a unified position.

President Buhari recently inaugurated an advisory technical committee for the implementation of the proposed wage. The committee, which was given one month to submit its report, will advise the Federal Government on new sources of funds and ways to implement the initiative in a sustainable manner.

I did an oil change about a month ago, and ever since then I've been having this rattle noise on cold startup and whenever the engine sits between 4-5 hours. Noise is very brief between 1 to 2 secs. Filter element was replaced, but noise persist. Though oil change was done with Mobil 1 5W-20, but I'm not sure again of the quality of this oil due to this issue. I'm now contemplating on draining out the oil.
1- Any advice on what oil to use?
2- Is there any damage that could have occurred during this period of 4 weeks of driving the vehicle with this rattle noise on startup?
3- Are there other likely cause apart from these suspect (oil)?

Vehicle is 2012 Toyota RAV4 I4 FWD.
engine is Toyota 2AR-FE (2.5L).

I just ran into your thread, coincidentally I opened a similar thread a few days ago cause I experienced this behavior from my car after an oil change.
My car also uses the same engine like yours.

How did you go about resolving this issue?

Read your manual properly. The 5w20 is a temporal oil where 0w20 is unavailable at due OCI but must be replaced with 0w20 at the next OCI.

So, it’s only a temporal measure but again, it’s your car & engine; do unto it what you like.

You are right,i have rechecked and confirmed 0w20 to be the right oil...Many thanks.

You were close to having an engine lock. Here is another question here for you. What viscosity of engine oil have you been using. Expect to have the following changed

1) timing chain
2) timing chain damper
3) camshaft sprocket
4)timing chain adjuster (upon inspection)
5) camshaft bearings( upon inspection)


Lastly I hope your engine is sludge free. Reason for the question, if otherwise that's more commitment of funds What engine type do you have in it

Engine type is 2.5L 4-cylinder 2AR-FE engine...I actually switched from the 0w-40 to the recommended 5w-30 oil type.

But the main culprit like I said earlier and upon inspection was using a wrong oil filter which was found to be disintegrated thereby causing a blockage leading to loss of oil pressure.

It doesn't...Only on cold start in the morning.

when an engine looses oil pressure the first parts to suffer are the the parts at the top of the engine, camshaft, chain guides cam lobes etc. The next to follow are the crankshaft/bearings. As it is your engine narrowly survived a fatal engine freeze which would have been detrimental to your pocket. The design of the 2ar/2GR engines are awesome, oil flow/passages are over engineered, they provide protection over and beyond the call of duty.

Engine has suffered instant wear and tear that would have taken 5-10years to achieve by the actions that just happened. You can ignore the startup noise and engine will continue to serve without any further damage, or you can decide to rebuild the engine.

The options are yours.

I have had mine for over two years; 2007 Toyota Avalon. I had a bump brush against the oil sump, the rattling sound comes on cold start and you won't hear it till the next morning.

Exactly how it behaves,so how is the performance of your car these past years?
