HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Rbae: 4:52pm On Jul 23, 2019
Frozenelsa:
Good afternoon mamas. My baby has cradle cap but the thing is there is so much hair, I can't even see the scalp let alone scratching if off or applying oil, I don't know what to do. Also, what can I use for his hair to soften it, we cry every morning when combing even though we use the biggest adult comb. He is 5months plus.
My lil prince had it and he has so much hair too. I use comb to partition the hair before applying vaseline blue seal. Then after bathing him, i scratch it off. I was told by a PAED to use shea butter as his hair cream cos cradle cap feeds on oils. I was asked to buy a cradle cap shampoo too but i couldnt get in my
estate. Konga has it tho and its N5,500. Buy sebamed baby shampoo for ur baby.

Totally understandable, especially in this our clime where everyone wants to touch baby hands, that thing irks me ehn... but keep trying to bring her out gradually.
Im telling you. That touching of baby hands is so annoying. I keep washing my lil prince hands everytime we go out especially on Sundays.

Survey the environment and see what's lacking or what you can improve on to get a niche above others already in it. Go for something you love and enjoy doing for the days you will feel like quitting.

Don't settle on one business since you are getting a physical store! If the money is there add other items to augment each other.

Online is the rave now be sure to make use of social media .

Perfume oils
Kids shoes and clothes
Thrift or new wears adult and kids.
Hairs.
Cosmetics .
Fabrics .
Provision/raw food.
Men's briefs.
Services.
Etc

So many business to do abound just have your capital and a good business plan then you are good to go! All the best.
Thanks so.much mama. I surveyed d environment and the only thing lacking is food biz. Its an estate and i asked few people questions on things they dont get to buy. They said moimoi amd amala lipsrsealedhuh Capital is no problem at all but i dont like d food biz at all. I have 3 handiwork that i plan doing there too. I have a biz page with over 1,000 followers on instagram already but i want to sell other things too. Thanks for the suggestions mama. I appreciate ur comment.

Mama Frozen, how are you and my baby doing? Wow 3 months plus, me dey fear to even attempt it o, i feel like i'm going to break his waist if i do. Once he's 4 and half month we will start practicing o.

I have never used Oja with My kids.Noticed Its prevalent in the north an west though.
If You have mastered the art of tying it well, there will be no need for It.
Ok mama. Thanks

Sabi mamas, we are 2 months few days after delivery and still spotting dark bloody discharge. Is it normal or should I be worried about it?

It comes and go; some days am totally dry and others the discharge.

Last week I saw menseslike flow for 3 days instead of the normal 7 days and very light instead of heavy duty flow that used to be my signature.

Hiw is baby doing mama? Mine wasnt like that infact my periof started the 2nd month i put to bed. Sabi mama's will shook mouth soon

Yellow pasty poop is good shows baby is breastfeeding well. Gently Combing Flakes out after applying oil made cradle cap disappear in my son's hair. Please do not compare babies. All babies are different. So that you will not die of heartache. If you feel that your baby is not reaching the appropriate milestone, see a paed. Teething from 0-1 year. Some cut teeth as early as 3 months while some after 1yr sef. God is our strength. One mama here suggested that we put baby in creche or have someone take care of baby once in a while so that we can do other things or even rest. Please let us always rest anytime we can. Wishing Rbae and all mothers here who are strong quick recovery.
You can visit ask the paedetrician website for more information on babies.
Thanks mama. I didnt compare o, my cousin is with me now and she has been helpful so far.

[quote author=SlimBrawnie post=80122150]Rbae, the pediatrician could be right because same thing happened with my baby's head, I noticed his scalp looks dry and burnt the more I apply oil, what I do is apply oil to loosen it just before bath time, and after washing, I don't apply anything at all, within 2-3 days it clears off completely, and I don't wash or oil his hair thereafter until after a week before I start applying little oil. I guess cradle cap are of differ types. I don't use any special shampoo though. It appeared on his cheeks, I use cacatin and rising raven powder.
Mine poos 2ce if he's too full but not every day and his poo not sinking may be because of the diaper.
I didn't feel comfortable using his bottle nip for feeding, I used spoon instead, but that requires patience especially for a 4months old(same time I introduced spoon feeding for my DS)
Continue to put him to that breast, hopefully he'd Start sucking more from it.
I wish you quick and perfect recovery.[/quote

Thanks so much mama. I dont apply oil on his head anymore. I put him to the breast today and he sucked it well, he slept off after.

1. If it's cradle cap your child has all you need to do is apply a lot of coconut oil, get a fine toothed comb and comb out the scales. I don't think you should use skineal for your baby, at best buy baby tribotan

2. Don't give your baby antibiotics if no blood test was run. They must test and confirm that there is infection in his blood before medication. Give the ORS, up your hygiene and observe for a day or 2. If it doesn't subside insist on FBC

3. Nothing like sour milk but keep offering him the breast so your boobs remain balanced
Thanks mama

Good morning mamas. Its been a while. Motherhood is a wonderful experience but taking care of a baby alone without assistance has not been easy for me. As i speak i'm on admission in the hospital. Im so stressed!

I remember asking mamas here for help when my baby had something like burns on his head and frontalle too. I thought he was reacting to the eucalyptus oil that was mixed with his oil. I took him to the hospital and a friendly paedatrician attended to us. She said its cradle cap. That cradle caps feeds on oil. She said i should stop using oil on his hair that shea butter should be applied on his hair. She also said we should buy a cradle cap shampoo which is very scarce here. Few weeks later i noticed the cradle cap on his eyebrow. I took him to the private hospital i use here and the doctor gave me skineal, is skineal good for a 4 month old skin? He also gave him zinc, he said i should break the zinc into two. Is zinc okay for a 4 month old baby?

My baby poops 2ce or 3ce daily since lastweek. (yellow with seeds). Not too watery (like paste). It doesnt sink in is diaper. I took him to d hospital and the doctor said its okay. I told him i bottle feed him, he said no matter how clean i am, feeding bottles and bacteria are like twins. He gave him one antibiotics and ors. I dont know if its okay to poop 2ce or 3ce in a day.

My baby has been sucking one breast o. The second one stresses him so much.
If i press it, milk will come out but when he sucks he'll cry. I was told the milk will be sour if he doesnt suck the other breast for days but according to a paed on ask d paeditrician group, she said its not true. How true is this please?

Thanks for always mamas.

Why wait till Thursday? Today is just Monday o..

Silverbird(eucalyptus oil is an essential oil and very potent too) never administer essential oils directly on the skin. Even when mixing with carrier oils, a drop or two is ok.

Again, check if its cradle cap too. You can apply plenty oil(i use coconut oil) and then comb out.
wash with baby hair shampoo afterwards.

when you are less busy, go thru past posts on this thread prior to when you joined. Note down what has worked and what hasn't in different scenarios. You will learn a thing or two. (That's what i did)

Thanks mama. I will go to the hospital tomorrow morning.

Silverbird is too powerful for adults let alone babies. My baby was having something like catarrh when I gave birth to him. I went to the Dr and she said it would clear on its own but I can use Silverbird for steam inhalation if I want. I did steam inhalation twice and then read on fb where a woman said that she lost her sense of smell after using Silverbird immediately I stopped using it. Truly the catarrh cleared on its own. Please I advise all mums here to join atp(ask the paedetrician) on fb. Sorry momma I believe your baby hair will still grow. My baby had full hair but now the hair chop chop for back. But I'm not bothered because I know it will be uniform soon. As for the soft spot peeling it might be cradle cap that one usually looks flaky like dandruff. U can gently comb it out after bathing baby and applying oil there because it will be soft then. Don't beat yourself momma u r doing fine but if u r bothered see a doctor. Don't cry. You are doing a great job as a mommy and your baby loves you for it. kiss
Thank you so much mama. I really appreciate ur kind and encouraging words. I've joined the group on FB yesterday after a mama told me about d group here.

Hello Mama's, I've been crying since morning. My son will be 3months old in few days time. 7 days after his birth, we noticed his nose was blocked. My neighbor asked us to drop silverbird on that soft spot pulsating on his head. Later, she said we should mix one small cap (that of the silverbird with his baby oil). MIL apply it on his head 2ce daily. I later discovered few weeks ago that the oil haa burnt is scalp badly. I've stopped using it but I'm not happy cos he has burns and its peeling anytime I comb d hair. He use to have a full, black long hair but now d hair is cutting. The most scary one is the soft spot.. It's peeling too. I'm taking him to d hospital on Thursday cos we have an appointment then. Please, what can I apply on his scalp for now. Please.

I've made mistakes as a FTM, I won't allow anyone dictate what to do to my baby once I give birth to my second baby.

If you're formula feeding the hindmilk/foremilk thing shouldn't apply. Is there any change in frequency of poo? Observe him today while maintaining strict hygiene
Yes. I formulae feed more. His poop today is yellow with seed mixed with green. It's not too thick and too watery.

Hello mama's. Happy weekend. My baby is taking formula and I breastfeed him too, altho my breastmilk doesn't hold him. On Thursday he pooped the normal watery yellow poop with seeds with a touch of green poop. Yesterday evening is poop was green with small yellow with seed. It was scary, google was saying its no cause for alarm that it could be that baby is getting more hindmilk or so. Please, what could be d cause of the green poop? Is
