OkoYibo:
The Igbo society glorifies wealth over virtue. Osisikanwu was an armed robber and he was given a chieftaincy title in Igboland

They don't ever question your source of wealth provided you have money to throw around. This makes honest hustlers look foolish when they are derided for not having as much as their criminal brothers.

That is why you see men who have businesses carrying drugs to make it fast. Even here on Nairaland, you see their criminal brothers hailing them and saying 'a man dies only once'.

Even the business men use their businesses as covers for their criminal acts. Coscharis was implicated in money laundering and defrauding the government, Ifeanyi Ubah is a recipient of fraudulent subsidy payments, even Innocent Chukwuma was recently arraigned for Customs and Tax offences.

There is an upsurge of crimes in the ember months due to be demands of 'Onwa December'. Commit as much crimes as you can during the year and you get rewarded with a Chieftaincy title.

Politics / Re: Buhari: I’m Happy Nigerians Can Buy Cheap Rice In This Recesssion by real43(m): 1:38pm On Dec 23, 2016
kahal29:
President Muhammadu Buhari says he is happy that Nigerians can buy relatively cheap Lake Rice (Lagos-Kebbi Rice) in this recession.

In a statement issued by Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, on Friday, Buhari commended Lagos and Kebbi states for the successful partnership that gave rise to the local production of the commodity.

He saluted the commitment of Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos governor, and Atiku Bagudu, Kebbi governor, in bringing to fruition the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in March 2016 on substantially meeting the country’s rice requirement.

He also expressed delight “at the relatively cheaper price of Lake Rice especially at this period of recession”.

“It gladdens my heart to get reports of our citizens rushing to purchase this cheaper local rice to enable them and their families enjoy the Christmas and New Year celebrations,” the president said.

According to him, what the two states have done is “evidence of a new base being laid for the Nigerian economy, founded and propelled by agriculture, away from substantial dependence on oil and gas for national revenue”.

He recalled that in his 2017 budget presentation before the national assembly, he said that “a new era is rising in which we must grow what we eat and consume what we make”, adding that the Lake Rice achievement was in furtherance of the above goal.

While urging other state governments to replicate the laudable example of Lake Rice in other staple crops and dairy products, Buhari pledged the federal government’s readiness to continue to support such initiatives by providing the enabling environment, policies and incentives for agriculture to thrive in order for the nation to achieve food security.

He added that he remained optimistic that Nigeria would attain rice sufficiency by 2019.

See his earlier work here https://www.nairaland.com/3467723/16-year-old-boy-aba-constructs-prototype

The 16-year-old boy in Aba(Abia State) named " Uchenna Okwu Sunday," whom I told you I saw his creativity in Aba previously; has constructed a prototype lamp for people living around who are Traders.

The story I heard is that him(Uchenna), have been repairing electrical fault in people's houses and teaches his mates which has made him more popular in his area. Recently, a man-trader came to him and asked him to help construct a lamp which will produce light while he sells at evening due to power failure in such area.

I was surprised to hear that in less than 24 hours, Uchenna has constructed this prototype lamp and gave to the man-trader. In addition, when other Traders saw it, they were amazed and they demanded he constructs for them too at which he sells #200 each.

When I interviewed him on how he constructed the lamp, I learnt he used a rubber type of plate, four pieces of wires, batteries, a plain wood, a burnt electric bulb that he inserted a torch bulb inside. This boy you see is a school-drop-out in his SS3 due to financial issues.
See photo of the Prototype Lamp below:
thats good but is common among the technical student. still let more grace be giving to him
Health / Re: Help, I Want To Stop Drinking And Smoking Of Cigarettes by real43(m): 2:49pm On Dec 01, 2016
GeemarxWorld:
Help Needed To Stop Some Bad Habits

I will want to know what kind of help I can get to stop drinking and smoking cigarettes.

I actually started these bad habits while I was quite very young and now am almost 33. I use to drink so much of beer, smoke alot of cigarettes and weed as well. This got really bad when I traveled out of the country for studies and spent so many years out there. I think the weather and the fact that smoking is so normal there that even my lecturers and I do have chats together while smoking in the smoking area made me get so addicted.

Now I have completely stopped smoking weed for more than two years and I don't really take beer except once in a blue moon but the big problem is that I think though I left the frying pan, I am inside the fire because I smoke cigarettes like really bad and I am addicted to hot drinks like brandy or whisky. I cannot stay a day without these two and it's really annoying me.

I want to settle down now and start looking forward to marriage and a beautiful family life so I really want to do myself the favor of living a wealthy life for my wife and kids. I don't want to be an irresponsible husband and father so please I really need all the help I can get on how to stop this habits.

Please I will love to here from you all in this section especially the professionals if there are drugs or medications I can take to stop these habits.

YOU STARTED IT AND GRADUALLY IT BECAME PART OF YOU. U CAN STOP IT AND GIVE IT TIME TO RUN. ( STOP WHAT U STARTED )

true. mr president really need to work on his body language. his the president of nigeria and not the north. i voted for him so as other nigerians let his activities represent the one nigeria he sings every day.we the west are fast, losing faith in his administration and that will be very hard for him. the ss and se is no go area for mr president, the ss and se saw this ahead of time and that is why majority of them did not vote for him. we the west are realising our mistake.
