A testimony of God's love for a celebrity with wrong choices. BY MR CHARLES I. OKAFOR Veteran Nollywood Actor. STRUCK DUMP Life,in Ajegunle, was a potpourri of sweet, sour experiences.Whilst there was evident absence of minimum comforts, parents and siblings compensated with love and profound family bonding. Each one looked out for the other. And so it was, that, during holidays, I dutifully helped my mother out,in her "Abada" trade (abada is name for a piece of Textile, popular among women of southeast and South-south Nigeria),in the ever busy Alayabiagba (Boundary) Market". On this fateful day, after displaying our stock on the bamboo rack that was our shop, I walked over to "Mama Rita's" shop, to play with a little baby, whose mother had come to patronise my mother's neighbour. I lifted this tiny little thing and watched as he laughed through his toothless gums. I had barely spent three minutes with this child, when suddenly I began to feel an electrifying sensation running through my body. I quickly dropped the child and ran out of Mama Rita's shop.Thankfully, at this time, my mother had come to the market. I made efforts to speak to my mother, but could not. Instantly, my mother got down to praying as much as her tongue could carry her, but nothing happened. My tongue had left my mouth, deeply ensconced in my belly. In the ensuing pandemonium, my mother walked me through the large market to "Nosamu Street", to the humble ( boy's quarter) room of " Sister Rose", a devout Church worker. Together, they engaged in several rounds of prayer. As if divinely prompted, Sister Rose reached for a bottle of anointing oil, forced my mouth open, poured a handful into me. Instantly, I felt a huge rumbling in my stomach; I felt pressed to easy myself, and hastily dashed to the toilet. As I crouched and began to ease myself, my tongue returned to my mouth. Journey To Television Upon graduation from the University of Port Harcourt in Theatre Arts, I served out the mandatory one year National Youth Service Programme, at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in Lagos. In that year, two milestone events took place in my life. I secured admission to the University of Lagos to commence a Master of Science (Political Science) degree (with bias in International Relations). Secondly, while performing an official assignment at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) headquarters (then in Lagos) I met a man, Last Eguavoen, who in his professional judgement, felt that I fitted the character for a national soap Opera titled 'Memorial Hospital'. Mr. Eguavoen was the director of the Television Soap Opera. With initial reluctance, I accepted the invitation. My journey into television, and film , started thereon. I became a national celebrity in less than a year. I could hardly walk the streets unnoticed anymore. I got torrents of unsolicited favours. I became a 'star'. Not long after, in 1993, Bollywood was born, with the success of 'Living in Bondage' produced by Mr Ken Nnebue. The Birth of Nollywood Predictably, a few notable actors on television at the time- Richard More Damijo,Liz Benson, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Ramsey Noah, myself, etc, got automatic conscription into the new born " Home Video" industry. My fame and stardom soared . It was indeed like opium. The gains of stardom started flowing . Women, designer couture, lavish social indulgence, etc.Formication, lying and pride became an unmitigated addiction. Sadly, I forgot where I was coming from. I forgot what the grace of God had done for me. The current home video compartment of the Nigerian creative industry, owes its global visibility and acceptance to the unforgettable year of the release of 'Living in Bondage'- 1993. Hitherto, pockets of locally made contents, in local languages, dotted the Nigerian entertainment landscape. However, a few well- crafted TV Soap Operas stood out. I had starred ,as a major character, on one of those.Consequently, I found myself ,along with some names like Richard More Damijo,Liz Benson,Saint Obi,Kanayo O.Kanayo, Bob Manuel Udokwu,Ndidi Obi,Sandra Achums,Regina Askia, Ejike Asiegbu,Segun Arinze, Victoria Iyama,Ronnie Dikko,Jumai Joseph effortlessly ushered into the Industry. With this pleasant vocational foray,my appetite for carnality grew. There were Lavish Parties always, enough female admirers, easy money and flight tickets, at our disposal. I recall that my first "alter- call" response was at the University of Port Harcourt, where during a Campus-wide crusade ,precisely at the Convocation Arena, I had stepped forward, in response to an "alter-call", after a deep cutting ministration, and yielded my life to Christ. Alas, my public confession, and acceptance of Christ at the crusade ,lasted for just a few days,as I only succeeded in securing the attention, and eventual 'relationship' of a very beautiful 'born-again' damsel, who had persistently turned down my overtures, until the strategy of presenting myself as a 'born-again' brother, finally broke her defence. How sad. It is instructive to remark ,however ,that she is today,a genuine Christian, Married with a happy family. My second to fifth alter-call experiences were, unlike the first, intended at various times,to be for real. But ,I was too much of a " Nollywood star", to contend ,and resist, the allure of 'celebrity perks' as they presented themselves, in shades of deliberate seductions, irresistible gifts, exposure to people and places of power in Nigeria and elsewhere. The Time was 2.30 am. Stardom is more destructive than cocain, it consumes faster than Opium.Bitten by the bug,I lost every modicum of propriety. Dear Sir, I am a boy of 26 years,I lost my father when I was 19 years. I am the first Child and Son of my father from my own mother,he married many wives and gave birth to different children with those women, though that's his life. My father was the only son of his family, and he has other siblings. It happened that at the point of my grand father's death,he left many properties which my father inherited as the only son of the family, while my father's other siblings are all married with kids living in their own separate families. After graduating from the University, my father took over the business of my grandfather and it prospered. He expanded the business and the revenue increased. The time came that my father got married to my mother and had two sons with her.He lived with my own mother for only two years and had problems with her, which led to their separation. He took my younger brother and I to live with one of his sisters. So I grew up in my aunty's house, even though he was visiting us from time to time. After some years,my had a mysterious accident that killed him instantly, that was when my problem started with my Aunties. My Aunt withdrew her financial assistance to me and my younger brother three months after we buried my father. We struggled to train ourselves at the University,it wasn't easy. The time came,I finished school, I had no job, even my younger brother, things became very difficult for us,we approached my Aunt for assistance, but she refused. The reason why we did this was because,my aunt has been in charge of the business that my father was in control of before his sudden demise. We reported to the elders in our village, they summoned her,she refused to come, after much persuasion and fights. she came and stated that the business and properties in question was that of her Dad meaning my Grandfather's,that even though my dad inherited them and made some useful inputs, that they will be in control of things till we are of age.The Elders then asked her,the reasons why she doesn't help us anymore, she said its because of the way and manner we behave towards her and her children. The truth is that we have never for one day insulted she and her siblings. They then mandated her that she should have fixed amount that she should be remitting to us every month. We agreed on N30,000 every month for the both of us,she started paying us that amount and stopped, after eight months . We later got information from some people that she is trying to change ownership of those properties in other to claim full ownership, at this point,we are stranded and don't know how we will stop her and reclaim what is truly ours. Please advice us on how to go about it. Thanks. Anonymous Source. INTERESTING TIMES: 7 Major Lessons I Learnt From My Marital Failure https://endtimethings..com/2020/12/7-major-lessons-i-learnt-from-my.html?spref=tw I woke up this morning & Google photos reminded me that it was my traditional wedding on this day, 3 years ago & as some of you may or may not know, I am no longer married & unashamedly so. Today I am going to share a bit about marriage from what I experienced & learnt. A thread Firstly, a disclaimer - I am not a marriage counsellor, therapist nor do I know much. I am only sharing from experience. So, my marriage lasted for about a year or a little over. Trad was in Dec 2017, white in January 2018 and the marriage ended in February 2019. Let me tell you the truth guys, marriage can be beautiful. At least I experienced its beauty though briefly. Also marriage has nothing to do with how long you date. We dated for almost 4 years, so that's long enough. But lots of signs were ignored. So I'll be sharing 7 major lessons I learnt from my marital failure (which I actually don't see as a failure because I gained peace, restored joy, confidence and more). Let's go - |

I will hide the real names. I am a man, in my early forties, happily married with four kids, after spending more than a decade in the Nigerian banking industry, just one month after Buhari came into office in 2015,I lost a flourishing career, through massive retrenchment that was carried out by the bank(Names withheld)I was working for at that time I decided to try a business idea that came to my head. Precisely December 2015,I contacted a family member living in Accra, who gave me the go ahead to come, he also granted me the grace to stay with him anytime that I am in town, that's through out the duration of my business then go back to Nigeria. From 2015, till I met this girl(Fortune) sometime in May 2017,everything went well in business despite little challenges. On the faithful day I met this girl, she was 24 at that time,I was waiting for a business partner to pay me for the goods I supplied. While seated in front of her shop,i noticed that people were crowding in front of this girl, when I came close,I saw she was bleeding from her right toe,on further enquiry, I was told that some bottles of soft drinks fell down from the head of the girl selling them at the market, unfortunately it was the same time that this girl Fortune was passing and some pieces of bottles pierced her right toe and she was bleeding profusely. As it is typical of Most incidents that I had witnessed in Accra,no one in the crowd was willingly to help at that point in time,I took excuse from the woman i came to visit, Carried this girl to a nearby Pharmacy for them to stop bleeding and at least give her Tetanus injection,we were told that they were prevented from giving Tetanus injection at the shop level in Accra, except we go to the nearest hospital, after trying to stop bleeding to no avail,we tried another pharmacy,we were giving the same excuse, before we were directed to the nearest hospital. To cut the long story short,we got to the Hospital, after paying for their card, and seeing a doctor, her toe was sutured and injections were given, the bill came,it was to the tune of,as at that time, 400 cedis,I asked her if she had any money, she told me she didn't have, that she only came to find out the price of things at the market, before the sad incident happened. Then I asked her,if she knew anyone to call, she actually made some calls, all her contacts were not in town, including her elder brothers. Fortunately, I had some money,I paid for everything, after which we exchanged phone numbers, I assisted her in getting a Cab to her house. Later that day,she called me to express her appreciation for my kind gesture, which I did to her,she even went as far as telling all her family members. From that day,one thing lead to another I would call to know how she was doing and sometimes she would call to know how I was coping in Accra, she invited me to her place,I visited ,she introduced me to all her siblings that I was the person that helped her on the day of that incident at the market,I was warmly received. My problem started from that time, over time, she developed feelings for me ,on further enquiry,I discovered that she had a son from a guy she was married to, she told that the guy is from Nigeria, that as soon as she gave birth to her son,the guy left them and never came back. I am a principled person, and would never have anything to do with another man's wife, after thorough investigation, I discovered that she is no longer married to the guy, and that it was only once that the guy penetrated her and he was her first and only man in her life, till I met her,and also that she gave birth to her son through cesarean operation, i also discovered she had not slept with any man, since then and its been over four years from the date I met her. We continued like the other times, after several attempts to woe her for sex, which she refused, she told me that she made a vow that she would never have anything to do with any man again, except for marriage, just because of what her former hubby did to her. The time came for me to go back to Nigeria, on the night preceding the day,she came visiting, I attempted to have sex with her,I didn't meet any resistance like before, she paused me and said that before I continue with what I wanted to do,that I must promise her that I would marry,i reminded her that i was married she said she wouldnt mind, that I am married with kids, and also she wouldn't mind being my second wife ,and that if I go ahead and have sex with her without fulfilling my promise to marry her and break her heart the second time, that I am going to suffer and that she will make sure I suffer for breaking her heart, after putting all her trust in me. I took the bet, and continued, because i was not only Hot,I must confess, this girl is beautiful from head to her like a goddess, she was as she said, her vagina was tight and I enjoyed every bit of my penetration, after the first round, she told me she was not going and that she is going to spend the night with me, and see me off to the station the next day. When the evening came,we went out and had some drinks at a nearby joint, after which we retired for the night, after the kisses and sucking of her breast,I sucked her clits, while doing that, she was crying that I should make sure that I marry her, that she is going to do everything possible to make sure that I am her husband, after she climaxed,I started penetrating her,she kept repeating her statements, I thought it was because of the pleasure, as time went on I came to understand that she meant every of her statement. The next day, I left for Nigeria, when I got home,it dawned on me that I left home for quite a long while, beholding the happiness at everyone's face, but I have been in constant communication with my wife. After spending three weeks in Nigeria,I received a call from Fortune that she has missed her period and that she felt that she was pregnant. Then I asked what her next plan was,she told she was going to keep the baby, that since I promised her that I was going to marry her, that there was no problem. Then I reminded her that she took preventive pills after each round of sex and also that if that was her strategy of trying to hook me ,that I would never fall for it.After several calls, some days later, she admitted that she was not pregnant, but that she can't afford to lose me .I then told her that my punishment for her for such behavior was that I would not marry again and that I was going to cut everything I have with her. She told me that if that is the case, that she is going to punish me,that her father is a strong native doctor, and that she is of the marine kingdom, that I am going to suffer for disappointing her. To be honest, since that time,I have not gone back to Accra, things have become very difficult for me,i have been going from one set back to another,it is as if all doors are closed to me,i have been finding it very difficult to take proper care of my family,my wife who has been supportive has turned abusive. The girl in question has blocked me on all social media handles, after several attempts to get her had proved abortive, the only time I got her to apologize,if i wronged her in any way,she told me her former hubby had come to apologize because things became difficult to the extent that the guy resorted to drugs and other vices and that this is the beginning of my suffering, that I am going to see. Please ,I need an advice on what to do,I have confessed to my wife about what happened.Things are not going on well with me,despite all my efforts and struggles, how do I come out of this mess. Please advice and disregard my writing errors. Femi http://endtimethings..com/2020/12/please-help-girl-i-helped-is-almost.html Cc Rocktation Cc Farano |
