FamilyRe: They Want Him To Marry A Dead Girl by reality4us(m): 5:07pm On Apr 07, 2009
It is a normal practise in many places. I know that if you have been living with a woman no matter how long and have children with her, if she dies you must come to pay for her bride price before ever attempting to bury her. By so doing it is now accepted that she is your wife and not a concubine.

It happens in so many paces and I am in full support of it. You cannot just "abduct" another man's daughter without paying for her and at the end you present them with a dead body. In so many customs, impregnanting a girl without paying the dowry does not automatically confer you the status of a husband to her or a father to the children.

The guy should go and pay the dowry period.

But why the rumuor of a replacement of Soludo. Has he not done well to deserve a second term? To me he should be considered for another term unless his only sin is because he is an Igbo man and secondly the north is accussing him that the so called bank consolidation did not favour them. That is because the governors do not have control of any bank that they can just walk in and collect as much money as they want the way they did to Bank Of the North, Trade bank, Societe General Bank etc.

I said that the topic has reminded me of such a similar thing that happened in those memorable days.

To me it is unheard of and completely unimaginable that somebody will go and eavesdrop on his dad and mom doing the thing. What does he/she want to hear.

Satan don fall for gutter, marcham, marcham.

I remember very well in my University days in the late 80s we use to eavesdrop and even watch each other a lot while doing the thing. We are four in each room and whoever has a girlfriend that will spend the night, the only condition for others to go on 'exile' sleep outside was that the light must be on so that they can watch the action for a while.

We enjoyed it so much and the act became so popular in the hostel. Nobody was exempted even me, they watched me when it was my turn to send them on exile.

Weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird some people will say, but it was great fun then.
PoliticsRe: Who Is More Powerful; A Cbn Governor Or A State Governor by reality4us(m): 1:31pm On Mar 31, 2009
I will prefer to be a state governor because he has overall power all over the state. His power transcends managing money. A CBN Governor only helps to manage the economy of the country while a state governor has executive powers. He decides how and which part of the state to develop, he is accountable to no one on his security votes but outside pecks of office the CBN cannot pocket money any how without being questioned.
PoliticsRe: Pastor Adeboyes's Private Jet A Must Read by reality4us(m): 11:41am On Mar 26, 2009
What I know very well is that RCCG has quietly done so much that has touched the lives of masses but they don't  advertise them. I know the Church runs a welfare/charity scheme and millions of people have benefited from them.

Adedoye's schedule no doubt requires a jet to ferry him round the globe for his ministerial work. Is private jet a bad thing or not? If not why do we not make any fuss when people steal public money and buy jets but we make all sorts of nasty comments when God's servants buy it.

The issue I want us to know is that RCCG has spent more billions in charity and humanitarian work than the cost of this so called private jet. They will continue to spend more in the years to come.
PoliticsRe: Pastor Adeboyes's Private Jet A Must Read by reality4us(m): 9:21am On Mar 26, 2009
So private jets are meant only for thieving politicians and crude business people that made their monies by embezelling what belongs to me and you.

Private jets are part of good things from God and should be enjoyed more by His children. I know how much my small church spends on welfare and charity monthly not to talk about RCCG, whose own should run into billions yearly. And these charity and welfare programme go unnoticed by the press but the one that they will be quick to publise is acquisition of private jet by RCCG.

The earth is the LORD'S and the fullness therefore. So it is better for sinners and children of the bond woman to enjoy what our God has provided to make live easy.

US Woos Igbo Speakers to Join Military

The United States Army is wooing skilled immigrants including those who can speak Igbo language by offering them a chance to become citizens in as little as six months.
For foreigners who live in the US on temporary visas, it often takes more than a decade to get citizenship.
As part of the Army’s one-year pilot programme, to begin in New York City, it will recruit about 550 temporary immigrants who speak one or more of 35 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Igbo (a tongue spoken in Nigeria), Kurdish, Nepalese, Pashto, Russian and Tamil, the New York Times reported Saturday.
Spanish speakers are not eligible.
Immigrants, who are permanent residents holding green cards, and have lived in the US for at least two years will be eligible to join, officials said.
“The American Army finds itself in a lot of different countries where cultural awareness is critical,” said Lt. Gen. Benjamin C. Freakley, the top recruitment officer for the US Army. “There will be some very talented folks in this group.”
The programme will begin small - limited to 1,000 enlistees nationwide in its first year.
Immigrants serving in the US Army can apply to become citizens on the first day of active service, and they can take the oath in as little as six months.
If the pilot programme succeeds as Pentagon officials anticipate, it will expand for all branches of the military. For the army, it could eventually provide as many as 14,000 volunteers a year, or about one in six recruits.
Recruiters expect that the immigrants will have more education, foreign language skills and professional expertise than many Americans who enlist, helping the military to fill shortages in medical care, language interpretation and field intelligence analysis.
“The Army will gain in its strength in human capital. And the immigrants will gain their citizenship and get on a ramp to the American dream,” General Freakley said.
The Army’s programme will also include recruitment of about 300 medical professionals nationwide. Recruiting will start after the Department of Homeland officials update an immigration rule in coming days.
Language experts will have to serve four years of active duty, and health care professionals will serve three years of active duty or six years in the reserves. If the immigrants do not complete their service honourably, they could lose their citizenship, the report said.
About 8,000 permanent immigrants with green cards join the US armed forces annually, the Pentagon reports, and about 29,000 foreign-born people currently serving are not American citizens.

Just your child's passport picture, a utility bill reciept ( NEPA or Water bill) and may be anything to identify yourself since you are the one that will likely operate the account for him/her for now.

It will take less than one hour in any Fidelity bank branch to open the account. I dont know much about the happy savers of Intercontinental.

Yaradua has other wives outside Turai. So she may be a daughter to any of his other wives.

Fidelity Bank's Sweeta account for Children is very good.

I have been operating it for my three children since 2007. I pay in dividend warrants from shares I bought for them and other cheques in their names into the accounts. I sign on their behalf and withdraw from the accounts if need be.

If you wish by 18 years of age each can start operating the accounts on their own with a change of signature.

It must not be oven baked to look sweeet. My Pathfinder was white when it landed from US but it took me about 60K to respray it to metalic brown. People think it came with the new metalic brown colour because it's looking cute.
Car TalkRe: Are White Coloured Cars Cheaper? by reality4us(m): 9:38am On Jan 12, 2009
They are not supposed to be cheaper but Nigerians generally dont like white coloured cars, especially if they are used cars. So with the generally low demand for such cars, the price tends to be lower.

As for me I can only drive a white coloured car if it's a brand new car (tear rubber).

HealthCyst inside Scrotum by reality4us(op): 10:00am On Dec 04, 2008
A friend of mine noticed a small lump inside his scrotum sometime ago. When he went to clinic after examination of his scrotum he was told that what is inside his scrotum which feels like a small size testis is cyst. That the doctor said that the cyst will grow bigger and bigger if not removed by surgical operation.
His main worry now from what he told me is that while the doctor was examining his scrotum, he asked him if he was married and with children or if he has stopped having children or does he intend to have more. Though he did not ask the doctor why all these questions but he became worried that maybe the surgery may make him impotent. The doctor told him to choose any day he wants and come for the surgery. And that he will not spend more than two days on admission after the surgery but may need to be out of work for about one week.

He intends to go back to the doctor to know why all those questions about being married, having children and not. He wants to be convinced that the surgery will be safe before he consents to it. But I want to share this matter with the Urologists and other Doctors in the house so that I can also know what to tell him.

Please your sincere comments and advise is needed because the guy seems to be apprensive going for the surgery.
