The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the outcome of the Ondo guber primaries is taking a turn albeit for the worse as the National Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun has finally reacted to the allegations levelled against him by one of the party’s National Leader and former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

While describing the allegations against him as “reckless and false”, the National Chairman who answered the allegations against him in a blow by blow account, said it was now time to set the records straight inview of the misinformation that had been fed to the public.

Oyegun, in a statement he personally signed and issued yesterday, which was made available to newsmen in Abuja, further stated that “The ripples from the controversy over the election have unfortunately dragged our great party on to the front pages of newspapers for the wrong reasons.



According to him “In view of the misinformation and false reports that have been fed to the media and that have pervaded the public space, there is need to set the records straight. Below are factual responses to the salient points and allegations made by the media office of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in its statement.

He said “Recently, the media office of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu falsely and recklessly accused me of corruption, rigging the outcome of the 2016 Ondo State APC governorship election primaries and overruling the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) “vote” on the 2016 Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election Appeal Committee Report.

Oyegun who took time to counter all the allegations brought against him by Tinubu explained thus “The media office of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in its statement alleged that I overruled the NWC’s vote of “six against five” in favour of cancelling the primary election results and conducting another primary.

Reacting to the allegation of bribery and corruption against him he snapped thus “This reckless and baseless corruption allegation levelled against me is unfortunate and an insult to my person and my hard-earned reputation which I have strongly maintained. Nobody has the kind of money that can buy my conscience or make me do injury to an innocent man. In all the primaries conducted under my watch as National Chairman, I have strived to ensure a free, fair, transparent and credible process. The 2016 Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election was not an exception. There must be internal democracy in the Party and our constitution must be respected by all.

Oyegun said what actually happen was that “According to the minutes of the 18th emergency meeting of the APC NWC held from Monday 19th September 2016 to Thursday 22nd September, 2016 at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, there was absolutely no meeting which I chaired that voted in the manner alleged. Clearly, the report on which the media office of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu acted was a figment of someone’s wild imagination.

The party chairman further explained that “On Thursday 22nd September, 2016 being the final day for submission of candidate by Political Parties, the NWC discussed the possibility of voting having finished deliberation on the2016 Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election Appeal Committee Report because members in support of cancelling the Primary results were still strident in their position.

Countering the allegation of tampering with the delegate list Oyegun said “The Ondo State approved delegates list was compiled in strict compliance with the Party’s constitution. Only qualified delegates were included in the list. Moreso, none of the aspirants or the Appeal Committee has submitted to NWC a list of delegates who were not qualified to be included in the delegates list but were listed as delegates or presumed qualified delegates who were not included in the delegates list used for the Primary.

Oyegun while appealing to party faithfuls to remain calm irrespective of the distraction from the affirmed that “”It needs to be stated categorically that the NWC is confident that the Chairman of the Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, H.E. Abubakar Badaru, Executive Governor of Jigawa State conducted a credible and exemplary exercise. We indeed commend the Governor and his team for their transparency and the free and fair manner the primaries was conducted.

Former Vice President and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar commends the Federal Government, particularly President Muhammadu Buhari for the withdrawal of criminal charges against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, thus paving the way for the resolution of the impasse between both arms of government.

The former Vice President describes it as “a wise and timely move”.

In a press statement released by his Media Office in Abuja on Friday, 7th October, 2016, the former Vice President says that the move by the Federal Government is an indication that the government values the much-needed cordial relationship between the Executive and Legislature and would take steps to ensure that it remains harmonious in the interest of the nation, and the advancement of our democracy.

The Turakin Adamawa says that it is only in the situation of harmonious, cordial and corporative relationship between the three arms of government that real progress and development can take place in the polity.

Arguing that all hands needs to be mobilized to tackle the current economic difficulties in the country, and get the nation out of economic recession, the former Vice President states that both the Executive and Legislature need to come together to find solutions to the current economic recession by eliminating all issues that promote strife and mistrust.

Adding that political crisis does little or no good in a democracy, the former Vice President advises all individuals and political forces in the country that still have issues to come together and resolve their differences for the good of the nation and the APC.

Describing President Muhammadu Buhari as a statesman and a Man of Peace, he says that the decision by the Executive to end the disturbing allegations against the Senate leadership opens a new page in the relationship between the Executive and Legislature and was forthcoming because President Buhari has never been comfortable with actions or issues that unnecessarily heats up the polity.

He urges the National Assembly to reciprocate the spirit behind the resolution of the impasse by stepping up is collaborative efforts with the Executive arm of government in the arduous task of fixing the nation’s broken economy and infrastructure.

after much digging, i think email list can go a long way in adding more people. the simpler ways can only help in adding a handful. email list can help with access to about 1000 emails plus. After uploading you'll notice its almost about half of those mails are linked to facebook. this means you are able to add between 500 to 600 people. thats still something.
for those looking for email list, you'd be surprised bout how much u can get from nairaland, wont go into much details, i no wan spoil some people market

there is no way you can manually select about 1000 plus checkboxes when adding friends with email lists on facebook. thats way too ineffective.

there are even simpler ways of adding many friends on facebook without using email lists.

@op, thanks very much for the methods you've highlighted so far, but my question is, is it compulsory to use any of those methods, the reason am asking is because i have a certain facebook account and by my calculations i should be able to make up to the 5000 frnds within the 7 days, even though not following any of the methods you mentioned.

Did you hear? Twitter would like you to know that its service is now easier to use, thanks to a series of rule revisions announced in May, which have just gone live. Starting today, Twitter is cutting down on what counts towards your 140 characters. As a refresher, that means media content like photos, videos, GIFs, polls and Quote Tweets no longer eat into your character count. Links still do, however. As you may recall, Twitter first announced all these changes earlier this year, but delayed their rollout to give the developer community time to adapt. Along with changing what counts towards the 140 characters, Twitter also announced other tweaks at the same time – like ditching the “.@” format, for example. This convention came about when people wanted to send tweets that began with an “@username” to their entire audience. Something of a user-generated hack, the period “.” circumvented Twitter’s restrictions on which tweets appear in followers’ Timelines.

Twitter likes to tout all these changes as a means of simplifying its service – something it’s doing in an effort to appeal to new users who find the intricacies of using Twitter confusing. Twitter has seen its user growth stagnate, which has been worrying Wall St. and leading to rumors that the service is looking for an acquirer. The goal with its departure from the 140 characters – Twitter’s defining feature from day one – is to make the service easier to use. And it’s just so much easier, right? Right?In case you need a cheat sheet, here’s a summary of Twitter’s newer, “simpler” rules, including all those announced alongside the character count changes back in May. (See below)(Note that the RT and QT changes were shipped a few months ago, while the @mentions and “.@” changes are still forthcoming.)
