From Day Job To Dream Life
For the longest time I wasn’t satisfied with the way my life was going. I bounced from job to job and hated the fact that I was broke financially. I kept saying to myself…

There has to be more to life than this, life should not have to be a struggle.

So I decided to unplug from the “Matrix” and “The old ways of thinking” that we get introduced to as a child, like working for someone else and trading our valuable time on Earth in exchange for a crappy wage.

I’ve been searching for a way to make money working from home. I’ve been a jack of all trades… working in just about every phase of construction (hard work), to being property agents (got in on that one too late) and door to door selling.

I’ve also owned a half dozen or so businesses including printing press, cybercafe, I owned a Computer business center and a Social Media Marketing Agency, a web design firm. The money was good, but I only had a couple days off to enjoy it and even less when I was running a business.

I never liked working for a boss, feeling like a cog in a machine designed to make someone else rich or having my life, family and finances at the mercy of someone else. In fact I used to just quit jobs (or get fired for not showing up) if they didn’t allow me the flexibility to do what I wanted.

I never had both Time Freedom AND Financial Freedom together. So I started buying “Make Money Online” courses and joining Network Marketing opportunities. You name it, I’ve tried it.

The issue I had with Network Marketing is that they teach overly simplistic, outdated marketing techniques. I realize that it needs to be simple so that everybody can do it, but it’s slow and painful unless you have a lot of influence or a big network to begin with.

I never had both Time Freedom AND Financial Freedom together. So I started buying “Make Money Online” courses and joining Network Marketing opportunities. You name it, I’ve tried it.

The Network Marketing model works, but it takes 3 to 5 years before you have a substantial, consistent income. It helps if you pick the right opportunity and join the right team under the right leader.

... but ultimately it’s up to you to develop the skills needed to recruit and build your business.

I’ve also spent hundreds of thousands of naira on products, courses, systems and seminars and a lot of them were total garbage, but a few would actually have something valuable in them.

What’s worse is that there are $2k-$5k overly complex programs being sold online that leave you scratching your head with nowhere to turn unless you spend even more money with them to get one on one help or... you guessed it another product with more training!

So over time I weeded through some of the offers, learned who to trust and bought all of their training and paid for personal coaching from them.

I wake up every morning with a smile because the days just keep getting better. I am passionate about life and enjoy meeting new people and doing the many things that life has to offer. I live in Lagos and I live life on my own term. But my life has not always been like this.

How much are you willing to pay?

Hosting (also known as Web site hosting, Web hosting, Website hosting, and Webhosting is the business of housing, serving, and maintaining files for one or more Web sites. It is the activity or business of providing storage space and access for websites. Here are five steps to choosing the profitable website hosting company.

Step 1: How does it work?
In order for your website to be available to anyone at anytime, you need to host it with a web host. In other words: you need a web server leased to you by a web hosting company. Also, in order for your visitors to easily access your site by name, you will need a domain name such as `yourdomain.com`. This will allow to make your site available at `www.yourdomain.com` (for example) but this will also allow you to receive email on addresses like `your.name@yourdomain.com`…
Most hosting companies offer all-inclusive packages by default, which include:
>> a domain name,
>> the web-hosting itself
>> several email addresses/mailboxes.

Thus, if you’re just starting out, it is generally a good idea to get both your domain and your hosting in one single sign up with a hosting company. (Depending on your needs, you may or may not want to also take advantage of the email addresses.)

Step 2: Which kind of web site do you want?
Think about your smartphone for a minute: you can enter notes into the basic existing apps, but you can also install new apps on your phone. It’s similar when you get a website: you can put up some basic information using basic tools but you can also install new app, powerful apps… !
It basically boils down to 2 kinds of web sites:

i. Static sites (simple sites): you will build one or more web pages (called HTML pages) with software like DreamWeaver on your computer. You will then upload the pages to your host’s server using FTP software like FileZilla for example.
Every time you will need to change something on your site, you will have to edit the pages on your computer and upload them again. The website never changes by itself. That’s why it’s called a “static” site.

ii. Dynamic sites (blogs, forums, photo galleries…): instead of uploading HTML pages to, you will install a piece of software (called a web application) on your web server. This software will let you add and edit content (text, pictures, videos…) at any time directly online without the need for any special tools on your computer. The software may also allow your visitors to leave comments or start discussions of their own if you let them.

Of course I recommend the Wordpress software to kickstart your site and let it grow over the years, but there’s plenty of choice here. Other popular web apps include Joomla, Drupal, phpBB, Gallery and plenty more…

Step 3: Which hosting technology do you need?
While static HTML sites can be hosted on virtually ANY web server, when it comes to web applications, you need to be aware of the technology they are using. There are basically two different technological orientations to choose from here:

Linux hosting: this is also referred to as “LAMP” as in “Linux Apache MySQL PHP” which are the 4 main components of this platform. Today, this is by far the most commonly used system. The web apps cited above all run on Linux a.k.a. LAMP servers.

Windows hosting: this is also referred to as ASP hosting. ASP is Microsoft’s proprietary technology for web applications. You only want to use this if you plan to run a web application written specifically in ASP.

Note: even if you use Windows on your own computer, you will generally want to go with Linux hosting *unless* you specifically need ASP. Linux hosting is generally faster, cheaper and more flexible than Windows hosting and poses no compatibility problem at all, no matter which operating system you use at home or at work.

Step 4: What hosting service level do you need?
There is a whole range of service levels in web hosting. These can roughly be broken down like this:
Free hosting ($0): this is like shared hosting (listed below) but overloaded with ads that you can’t remove and generally very slow. You should only use this for small private sites that do not need to work 24x7.
Shared hosting ($4 to $20/month): this is the most common kind of hosting. A very large server will host the websites of several different clients. Each client has its own account though and – on serious/security aware hosting companies – is isolated from other clients.
VPS (Virtual Private Servers) ($30 to $40/month): Again a large server will host several websites but this time, the sites are strongly isolated from each other as if they were actually on different servers. This is recommended if you have high security constraints.
Dedicated Servers ($79 to $399/month): Here you get a whole physical server for yourself. That is very comfortable, fast and secure… but pricey!
Cloud Hosting (Prices all over the place) : in this case your website shares an array of servers with other sites. This means that your site is not limited to the power of a single server and that the resources allocated to it can row and shrink on demand depend on how much traffic you get. This is interesting only for very large sites and if you’re just starting out you probably don’t want to get in to the complexity of such a solution.

Most people start with shared hosting, knowing you can always upgrade later, as your site grows. Shared hosting gives you professional web hosting capabilities at the fraction of the price of a dedicated server.

Step 5: Choose a hosting company
Once you have settled on Linux vs Windows and Shared vs VPS vs Dedicated, you will still have to make a choice between many offers from many different companies…

A lot of companies will offer you incredible disk space and bandwidth to host your site. Don’t fall for it! All hosting plans in the $4 to $10/month range today offer more space and bandwidth than you could possibly need when starting a new site. If you ask us, there are 3 things you want to look at when choosing between similar hosting offers:

Performance: how fast will your site be? The best way is to check out a website you know is already hosted by the company you have in mind.
Uptime: will your site be available 24x7 or will it be down from time to time… which can be very annoying? Reviews and user comments will give you an idea pretty quickly.
Customer service! This is the hardest part to evaluate. If service is important to you, read reviews and user comments very carefully. However, if you tend to figure out things by yourself anyway, you may as well go for a lower price…
Server locations: is the location of the data centers important to you? If it is, normally a quick google search or email to the provider can tell you the physical location of things.
Areas of specialization: do they focus on specific platforms like WordPress and do you require this level of service? Or do you simply want to learn how to use linux which is tough on a managed host?
Price: last but not least, how much do they charge and how does it compare to the other hosts on your shortlist?
General feedback online: while feedback from users with similar requirements to yours can be definitely ideal, lots of general negative feedback from users can be just as illuminating. Even indifference usually tells a good story. You can look for comments on blogs and forum posts criticizing the general features such as support and downtime but mileage may vary.

Also remember: you get what you pay for! Cheap prices (except maybe for limited time trial offers) always mean you will have to compromise on the speed of your site, the availability of your site (uptime) or the quality of the technical support. So, if you’re just getting your feet wet, you can go for a cheap package and you can always upgrade later. But if your business is going to depend on your website, make sure you don’t go for an entry level package.

Choosing a web host can obviously be as complex or as simple as you want to make it, but the general rule of thumb is to do your homework and make decisions before it’s an emergency. If you start seeing trends toward mediocrity with your current host, make a Plan B that you can put into action if the need arises.

I have already bought and ate it. Personally I enjoy the taste over all these foreign rice that taste artificial. But like other rice you may need to cook it more than once to get the best mix and taste.

I bought mine not for Xmas or new year celebration but because of the heart benefits especially as a whole grain rice. I already enjoy the rice today. It is good and free of stone as some feared. I bought 50kg from Teslim Balogun stadium.

There is no such thing as LASSRA. I just got my from Teslim. Wholegrain is the way to go.

There is no big deal of course. But there is when the issue of trust come into play. The people voted him because they belief him. Before he enter into governance he already know that the state is in a financial mess. At least he should have an idea on how he want to revive the economy of the state and make promises accordingly. That way, he will not be seen speaking with both sides of the mouth.

The Minister of State for Niger Delta, Prof. Claudius Daramola, on Wednesday ascribed the victory of APC in the last guber polls in Ondo to the counsel of President Muhammadu Buhari. He said this at a joint briefing of the state House press corps with Plateau Gov. Simon Lalong, Ondo State Gov-Elect, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu and his running mate Mr Agboola Ajayi. According to the minister, the visit of the president to the state on Nov. 19 was the turning point in the fortunes of the party thus removing the party from the four decade opposition.

On his speech, the gov.-elect, Akeredolu said he thanked the President profusely after the election and that the gratitude covered all leaders of the party, including Sen. Bola Tinubu.

The gov.-elect said upon assumption of office he would examine the finances of the state to determine whether to review his campaign promises. He said he was bent on implementing the five cardinal campaign programmes, including massive job creation through agriculture and entrepreneurship.

It will be noted that Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, said he has begun a review of the campaign promises made to the citizens of the state before his election on September 26. Obaseki explained that he had started taking stock both at the Government House and the different ministries in the state to ascertain the amount of resources available to meet the promises. The governor spoke during a meeting with the state leadership and executive members of the All Progressives Congress in Benin on Friday. I am beginning to wonder if this is a new precedent for APC. Make bogus promises and use economy excuse to review them after election is won. We all know all the promises made before 2015 election has not been fulfilled. I think it is still early for the governor-elect to start talking of reviewing campaign promises. In other word, it's like saying don't expect much from me.

Please note I don't support any political party or politicians. However, it is just an observation. This is my personal view.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to spearhead efforts by stakeholders to tap into the potential of outsourcing for job and wealth creation.

A statement issued by the National Association of Information Technology-Enabled Outsourcing Companies in Abuja said Osinbajo would declare open a three-day international outsourcing conference holding in Abuja next week.

The Chairman of NAITEOC, Mr. David Onu, said stakeholders would be focusing on outsourcing as a catalyst for change, economic growth, and job and wealth creation.
