Why don't vultures fly over Bini land? What is the phenomenon behind it?or is it just a myth?

When i was growing up i use to hear the story that whenever vultures fly over Bini land, rain will cease to fall and there will epic catastrophes, how plausible is the story?
Culture › Polygamy Versus Step Parenthood by redsun(op): 11:00am On Apr 30, 2011
A child that grows up in a situation where a parent is missing, replaced by a total stranger and a child that grows up in a situation where there are more than one wives sharing his/her father relatively amicable,Which one these children will be more emotionally stable in life?

In a nutshell,is it better for a child emotionally and otherwise to grow up in a polygamous home or in a step-parenthood home?

I for one as a ''child'' will prefer a polygamous home where two of my parents are intact to a step-parenthood home where one biological parent is away and i am made to do with whatever is available just because it suites my parent needs.

If you are conversant with nigerian movies, nollywood, you will understand what i am talking about, how the actresses weep like children when they are acting out troubled scenes like bereavement. Those movies are true reflections of nigerian society, just like every movie tend to do.

Peoples emotions are reflections of their state of mind and mentality. We weep for the dead  unconsolably because we don't understand the circle of life and that is why we are losing out in our roles on earth to leave marks as responsible adults.

sylve11:
A friend of mine keeps on complaining that his girlfriend always visit the parish house of a catholic church where she worship to see the father of the parish. Few times spend the night there. Her attention is no longer given to her b/f , and this is getting out of hand as he's always complaining. the mind of the guy is ''do u feel the father could be tearing my chick''? Honestly, i do not know  what to say cause i haven't heard of a father doing such an act. House do you think anything is transpiring between the both of them. your opinion could just uplift the heavy heart of this man  cool

i was not suppose to post a thread like this, but i know nairalanders' opinions do help cool
Let me guess, the catholic parish you  are talking about is based in the heart of oshodi lagos, off iyanapaja way.I use to know of one reverend father that does the same thing there, with mostly married women. They flock his house at odd hours, some of them sleep there for days and nobody raises an eye lid,not their husband because they think he is giving them spiritual guidance, odes.

He fcuks them real hard and doles out the offering money on them. The offering money is the attraction for the women, easy cash.

Obama should know better not to worry about dinning with the other side as a soul rebel. The agitations and causse of a blackman are quite contrary to what that institution stands for.

At this point as a people we should be creating our realities, our own splendour, our own fantasies, our own importance and relevance.Until we realize that things are main to be the way people wants it,we will never start making own ways in life.

There are kings because there are peasants.

Obama is under pressure,he inherited almost a failed system that is on a free fall and he his not a ruthless capitalist and oppressor.

He is not the direct heir to the throne that deserves Obama's presence, protocols does not allow that

Meanwhile the royal family is irrelevant to dynamic minds, they are just as relevant as father christmas

@Op I know why you have such a concrete heart. As a child you were molested, lack of love and affection, abandoned and neglected. What a bitter experience you would have bn safer in the hands of CPS (child protective service) I bet you know what that is. Sadist.
Your ability to deal with situations comes with the abilities to understand what the whole thing is all about. The abilities to deal with tragedies and emotions comes with the same abilities to evolve.

The only thing you can do for your loved ones is to love them when they are alive.

Far from the reason why you don't feel bad about your dead brain cell to realize that death of loved one hurts.
I know you will always think it is normal for adults to be weeping like babies, because u are a child yourself. That is why people like you shy away from responsibilities because at all point you are helpless.

There is nothing worth crying for but your helplessness.

Of course i am not generalizing.I mean on average,on relative terms with what you have in a fast pace society like britain, women have gone crazy.

Alcohol consumption and smoking among women in britain are just as bad they are in men, they are health hazards, killing many people annually and costing the health service and the system in general billions of pounds annually.

I can't think any of my female relatives that drinks and i have so many of them, for real.

Why do nigerian women cry like babies when they are in mundane life difficulties or in dealing with tragedies like the death of loved ones, unfaithful partners and illnesses? They weep hopelessly like naughty children. What makes them cry so easily and hopelessly?Even men  do too,as seen in Nollywood movies.

what part of what he said, suggests the reversed version of beyonce's 'if i was a boy'pls read
Beyoncy said if was a boy, while the poster said if was a woman.

What part of it do you not understand as  reverse views and wishes?Even if they don't exactly wish for the same thing.

You don't just delete ones thread just because it doesn't sound like you. This is a public forum where people are expected to express their views without fear or favour.

Your responsibility is to censor the words and images that are not compactible with the  system not to delete opinions even when it might be critisizing you, that is abuse of authority.Although it might not mean anything to you because you probably a typical nigerian, used to taking matters into your hands just because you can.

I am not hear to kiss your backside.I play by the rules and the rule is to express my views the way i deem fit.

Culture › Re: Why Don't Nigerian Women Drink And Smoke? by redsun(op): 10:00pm On Apr 27, 2011
It is not part of nigerian women social agenda to drink and smoke, unlike what you have here in england, even among southern african women here, alcohol and smoking are things they look forward to.

Does not drinking make nigerian women less romantic, adventurous and wild?Because alcohol can change moods and make women go wild sometimes.
Culture › Why Don't Nigerian Women Drink And Smoke? by redsun(op): 9:39pm On Apr 27, 2011
Why are alcohol and cigarette not part of the vices of nigerian women?Unlike other women in the other parts of the world, even closer home, southern africa where drinking and smoking among women is just as normal and outrageous as of men.

I am sure the reason why we have less disable birth in nigeria even with the porous pregnancy and maternity care is because on relative terms, women don't expose their unborn babies to the dangers of alcohol and cigarette.

Nigerian children are always very healthy at birth even with the poverty and hopelessness. It is only when they are born that they are expose to man made(establishment)dangers that kills most them at high rates, infant mortality.

@Redsun,

my bro, I totally agree with you. I just dont understand what makes the average nigerian choose bag of garri over genuine change. Why, what is it that makes us see the truth, but choose the lie?

I have been fighting this crusade of good governance and change for so long, but right now i have reached the end. Nigeria isnt worth all this headache.

But marks this. I know someday those who have made the common man suffer so much, for so long will get what they deserve.
Because they failed to realized they are able.Their fundamental thinking centres on failure and abject miseries, they don't know otherwise
Politics › Re: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by redsun(m): 8:53pm On Apr 27, 2011
The only time a true change will come to nigeria is when ordinary nigerians really understand what a true change means.Right now they are too carried away with  thebags of rice, salt, yam, cooking oil and little change politicians dole out for votes and rigging to worry about fundamental change.

Just like every other thing, the desire for a change comes with insight and true knowledge.Nigerians need to seek true knowledge for them to get freedom and true knowledge is not far fetched, all you need to do is look around you and see how amazing the littles ants, the termites in their mounds, the bees in their hives, the spiders in their webs, the birds in their nest, how they survive and evolve, then you begin to ask yourself, why am i not able as a human? Why can't i build?why can't i nurture?and why can't i evolve?
