I was passing by along ladipo market and saw this man (from eastern part of the country I presume ) beckoning on me to come and buy his newly imported electronic devices (TVs particularly). As a moved close to take a look, I discovered the TVs were neatly wrapped with polythene (nylon), I asked if they were tested OK and he said yes affirmatively, making me believe. He told me those ones isaw along the road were samples, that I should follow him to his shop.
On getting there, I saw another set of tokunbo televisions . He introduced a hunger-riddened and badly dressed guy to me as the manager of the shop, I was WOWed in my mind but never felt suspicious of any form of scam. I pointed at one small 21 inches Bush TV product set, he told me it's a tested OK and it just 15k,then I told him I only have 10 K with me. He agreed, foolishly, I gave him the money and wrote the receipt
NB;the manager gave me the receipt to write my name and sign, I was also told sign a particular place in the receipt which didn't bother to read through (that was how I entered the whole show fully) I gave him the cash without him testing it first . After the transaction I then requested it should be tested. So, the guy who took me there(with one other guy then said I should follow them to testing room. As we were going together, the guys disappeared, then I knew I was in for the show.

As I walked a little to a place where no one would see me, I hurriedly loosened the polythene out of the TV set, there I found a cracked screen, busted speakers and utterly mutilated TV set. I felt raged and disappointed simultaneously, I developed a slight head ache and cold instantly. This money was the last drop of the allowee that I saved during my service year (lest I forget, I went to buy the be I've not got a job yet)

I instantly picked the next available bike to the nearest police station I.e ladipo police station. I met one inspector adebayo hunga and one female sergeant talabi idowu (got that from their crested uniform). I was told to make an entry with the sum of #1000 before anything. I negotiated with them and gave #700 which was all I had. The inspector followed me down to the shop. Getting there, I found out that the police himself na we-we, the asked the man what happened, he told him point blank that I bought a non tested TV and nothing could be done about that. It was then I knew I had messed up big time by being gullible. He showed me in the receipt I was given where it was written boldly NON TESTED,and I signed it. I'm not even bothered about the money but what makes me hate myself is the fact that, with my level of education, experience and exposure how could I be so dull? What if it was my own death warrant I was given to sign, is that how I'm going to sign it. Nairaland erst, please learn from my experience. Thanks.
