sinkhole: AN Islamic scholar, based in Ilorin, Kwara State, Sheikh AbdulRaheem Aduanigba, has alleged that his life is under threat, claiming that some people attempted to kidnap him in his residence on Tuesday night. Speaking with Saturday Tribune in a telephone conversation, Sheikh Aduanigba, who said he is the Lemomu Yoruba (Chief Imam Yoruba) of Ilorin, said he was being persecuted for his stance on the emancipation of the Yoruba race. A video went viral on the social media, during the week, in which the Islamic cleric called on Muslim faithful to drop their Islamic names and rather adopt their Yoruba names as part of the efforts at resuscitating the Yoruba renaissance. Speaking on Thursday, he said his ordeal started some 20 years ago when he was turbaned as the Chief Imam Yoruba of Ilorin, an action which he said did not go down well with the Ilorin Emirate and which culminated in a law suit which he eventually won in 2009. “I was in my house on Tuesday, 8 May, 2018, when some three men came knocking at my gate at about 11pm. They claimed that they were police officers who were acting on the instruction of the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr Aminu Pai Saleh, who they claimed invited me to a meeting at that odd hour. “I became suspicious as I noticed that two of the three men wore unkempt beards and I thus concluded they were not policemen. They told me that I should come with them to honour a supposed invitation by the Commissioner of Police. “I became more curious and I asked that they should allow me place a call to the police commissioner who is well known to me. Oddly, the first line was switched off and the second rang and rang many times, unpicked. “One of the men now unwittingly suggested that the police commissioner must be sleeping, a clear signal that the said invitation at 11pm may not have even emanated from the police commissioner. My suspicion was coupled with the fact that there was no warrant of arrest and no formal letter of invitation.” Speaking on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kwara State command, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi, who spoke on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, claimed that the Islamic cleric was duly invited by the police. He said the cleric refused to honour the invitation made to him, despite the fact that the letter was sent to his residence, advising him to come out from hiding and “behave as a responsible citizen.” According to Okasanmi, Sheikh Aduanigba was invited by the police, based on a petition written by those he described as concerned citizens of the state over alleged inciting video made and disseminated by the cleric to public.

laudate: Anu mpama! Onye nzuzu! Why is it that anyone who disagrees with you is automatically termed a Yoruba man? What on earth gives you the idea that I am from the Southwest? You have just revealed that the money spent on your education was wasted. Eminent people have confirmed that Onitsha was established by a Benin man. Even the article cited was written by Igbo scholars. If you don't like the truth, you are free to argue with your keyboard. Ndi ala!
Strikethem: Toilet soup with English name, botanical name and eating by Americans, Asians and north Africans is better than a soak away soup that only you aliens swallow. Soup wey not get English n botanical name.

igbo is always unique....

mansakhalifa: I stopped bothering about that 'hoax' called WW III after that rubbish 'chest-beating' that happened between North Korea and the USA. After all the noise and threats of nuclear attacks and holocausts, the two idi@ts are now telling us about a stup!d June 12 conference in Singapore.
Can you imagine that?!
Since then,I have stopped listening to people worrying or talking about a 3rd World War. To this guy, such people are just crying "wolf!" where there simply is none.
Having said that,if somebody wants to start a World War,then the Middle-East is the best place because, honestly,I would like to see most [if not all] of the countries there disappear.
Why?
Simple. I am tired of the noise coming from that part of the world. It is either Iran and Israel today,Arabia,UAE and Bahrain vs Qatar tomorrow. Or a faction in Yemen vs the GCC next week.
Too much oil money has destroyed the thinking faculties of those countries to the extent that they now bicker and quarrel like little children.
If they want to obliterate each other and whoever chooses to join them, then they should be fast about it and stop beating the drums of war that they won't be able to dance to properly.
l 'nough said.
cool but let them leave middle east and start it with northern nigeria....

let me quickly add here this was how FG seized the money contributed by NNEWI indigenes which they call NNEWI MASTER PLAN
FG seize the mony from them by force...and uptill today....nobody knows how that money was lost or spent....the only message FG sent was that any development in NNEWI must be approved by them....and I begin to wonder people decide to better their living....but Nigeria has consistently said no to that.....

I used to say this all the time that the education of an average yoruba child is a waste of money and resources........ I don't really know if their is a section where illiteracy and slavery is part of their curriculum.........if I hv not been educated under Nigerian system.....
The OP asked a question and it was answered with due honour by immhotep instead of u to divulge the truth......u start to turn the topic upside down....dat yorubas ruled igboland....is dat the topic or do u hv hardtimes in understanding simple english.......
please NL am referring this guy westbestside to Dr Chris Imafidon for proper background in education.......and he if he feels he won't learn it the proper then I hv no option than to refer him to the northern highest honour earned by mohammed buhari ( waec....still searching for it) to teach him the acts of mental illiteracy and slavery....
Explorers: Lol..Nobody one die now bro. Funny part is, climbing the mountain can be very expensive.
It costs between $50,000 - $100,000 or even more sometimes. From training, to buying of climbing gears/equipments, portable air tank, masks, tents, hiring of a professional climber(s) as guides and so on.
Excluding Visa fee/air ticket to Nepal and hotel accommodations/feeding/medicals for about two weeks or more.
I also learnt tourists/climbers must pay Nepal government about $11,000 before climbing.
Bro I want infact we want to support ur expedition to everest to give us first-hand experience
