Historically, Yoruba didn't accept LGBT in the past in her communities or country though it may exist . But,naturally, such practices were aliens to Yorubas because, every ancient Yoruba family who were freeborn believed God is the owner of all children as well as humans. All they had were some consecrated men that were eunuch due to priesthood purpose or became eunuch to serve a Yoruba king. Some kings could have as much 70 eunuch to do his bidding. LGBT was a taboo and still a taboo in Yoruba land. In fact, I have come across one Yoruba chap and naturally he was never comfortable seeing people looking at him because of his thought of the stigma attached to it. And the stigma attached to LGBT in Yoruba land will not die because of the conservative nature to the lifestyle of these people.

u are far from history

The problem with people like you is that you don't read to understand. You just do garbage in , garbage out. The historian n never said Sango is homosexual, but a cross dresser . A cross dresser is someone that dresses as the opposite sex e.g bobrisky . And as you said yourself Sango had his hair plaited and also other things that qualified him as a cross dresser

some persons has knowledge deficit.....

cross dresser simply means homosexualism

A lot of ignorant people online today.

There's no doubt that every culture in the world had/has these homosexuals.

Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa are not strangers to these acts.

The question is, was it socially acceptable in Yoruba land?

Calling someone by the name "adofuro" is a big slur. A huge insult that could get you killed if you mistakenly call some innocent person that way.

In fact, homosexuals were always closeted so as not to be labelled that.

So insinuating that homosexuality was part of Yoruba culture is ignorance at its peak.

Sango dressed the way he did because that was what was in vogue. You didn't expect him to be in suit and tie did you?

How about Igbo men that tie wrapper? Are they all cross dressers too?

The lesbian that wrote that article claiming orunmila was a product of lesbian sex should go and conceive a baby with her lesbian partner and lets see how that'll come about.

There is no justification for homosexuality. The great Roman empire was great until the men diverted into perverted homosexual relationships. That marked the beginning of the end of the Roman empire.

For the Igbos jumping up and down on this thread, I think you should ask your parents the Igbo word for @ss-fvcker. I'm sure you aren't naïve enough to believe that homosexuality and lesbianism didn't exist in Igbo land too, what with the women possessing abundant male hormones enough to make them look masculine and very hairy.

such a hatred and obsession for igbos.....

u just leave the topic and be calling igbo igbo up and down....

the Op said sango and orunmila are gay and lesbian......u now leave the topic and start accusing others.....are u for real or have u smoked cheap weed or condemn tyres......

ur ancestors are gays and lived a sodomic life which why gays is prevalent in yoruba land....and part of their culture.....and u are here calling igbos......

Bobrisky is good example though joined with over 65% of una population that are gays....

Lesson learnt.....

sango is a gay and orunmila is lesbian....
gay is part of yoruba culture
therefore all yoruba are gays

advice

learn to stick to subject topic and stop deviating.....

So the issue of sodomy started in yoruba....

that's lays credence to the reason most of their boys are gays almost 65% of their population are gays

also they are the reason Nigeria has not prospered....coz of their sodomic life.......thats y God is punishing Nigeria as in the case of sodom and gomorrah....
