ekolina: noble laurent ma foot.......wat has wole soyinka contributed to d development of dis nation, apart from d introduction of cultismWole Soyinka gave birth to road safety corp as it is today, call it FRSC, LASTMA or any other name, they all take inspirations from Sango of defunct Oyo State headed by Wole, the model of which IBB used to establish FRSC and made WS the first director. Most of pioneer staff were said to be members of the Sea dogs and Pirates but they had good reputation and did very well until it became all comers |

Why i gave birth in toilet--OAU student Osogbo ,June 20, 2013 (NAN)Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife on Thursday absolved the female student who gave birth in the toilet of any wrong doing. The university said ‘’the truth of the matter was that there was a delivery of a baby boy by an inexperienced mother’’. The university explained its stand in a press statement issued Thursday evening to clarify grey areas surrounding the delivery story. Mr Abiodun Olarewaju, the public relations officer of the institution signed the statement entitled,’’ baby born in the toilet at OAU: the truth of the matter’’. The university maintained that following a visitation to the health centre and interaction with the mother, Diana Oyinlola,’’there was no attempt to conceal the pregnancy not to talk of flushing the baby’’. ‘’Prior to the appearance of the baby, the young, inexperienced mother had discovered that she was bleeding and went to the toilet only to observe that something expelled into the water closet. . ‘’It was at that juncture that she screamed and shouted for help when her friend, Oluwayemisi Oladayo heard her voice and traced her to the toilet from their room’’ the statement added. The school stated that it was the friend who entered the toilet and found the baby that called an elderly cleaner for assistance because the two of them were novice in childbearing. The statement added that Diana Oyinlola’s parent was already with her and she had started breast feeding the baby. ‘’Oyinlola never intended to flush the baby but that she (Oyinlola) gave birth before her due date (EDD July) and was only ignorant of the tell tale signs of incoming baby, being the first experience’’ the statement clarified. The school had also identified the father of the new baby as 400 level student of mechanical engineering of the same university.(NAN) |

milkymesh: You will soon find out who is clueless. The plan is either to have control of the NGF or scuttle it. Plan A did not work, over to plan B. Do not underestimate GEJ. When he get 2015 you will know he is not clueless.you are on point brother, he may be clueless about solving Nigeria's problems, but not on how he would continue to stay in power. that guy is sure smart and knows how to get what he wants, it is left for Nigerians to get the same level of smartness. |

Why are Nigerians so forgetful? Nigeria Army guys actully sold arms to MEND in 2008. See link below. It shiows that there are very few Nigerian most are tribal apologist. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1087038/Nigerian-troops-jailed-arms-sales-militants.html Nigerian troops jailed over arms sales to militants By DAILY MAIL REPORTER UPDATED: 15:52 GMT, 18 November 2008 Comments (0) Share A Nigerian military court sentenced six soldiers to life imprisonment today for selling machine guns, rifles and other weapons to militants and criminals in the oil-producing Niger Delta. Military judge Bala Usara said the soldiers, led by Major Suleiman Akubo, stole more than 7,000 weapons worth around £500,000 and sold them to Niger Delta militants and gangs from 2000 to 2006. Fighters with the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) celebrate news of a successful operation by their colleagues against the Nigerian army in the Niger Delta Usara said buyers included Sunny Okah, brother of Henry Okah, the suspected leader of Nigeria's most prominent militant group the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) who is currently on trial for treason and gun-running. Sunny Okah was the lead prosecution witness and is likely to face trial in a federal court since he is not in the military. 'This should serve as a deterrent to others who are contemplating following in their footsteps,' said army spokesman Brigadier General Emeka Onwamaegbu. Violence in the Niger Delta, home to Nigeria's 2 million barrels per day oil sector, has slashed a fifth of the OPEC member's oil production since early 2006. Criminal gangs have taken advantage of the breakdown in law and order, profiting from an illegal trade in stolen crude worth millions of dollars a day. Security experts and rights groups say some members of the security forces and local politicians are sharing in the spoils, making the problem harder for the government to contain. |
lol, this reminds me of Oceanic Bank Award as Best In Africa days before she went under. |
We’ve Not Banned Use Of Hijab In Public Schools – Lagos Government – www.channelstv.com http://www.channelstv.com/home/2013/05/20/weve-not-banned-use-of-hijab-in-public-schools-lagos-government/ |
chief batiatus: Muslims are always out for trouble, they can't just see why others cannot accept their religion as the only possible way of life. I predict that this is probably the beginning of unrest in the south. Islam is now the biggest problem of the worldhow can you fairly blame this provokative law on Muslims? Are Muslims asking that hijab be added to school uniform or that govt is saying kids already wearing hijab should stop use of it? Is it just now that Muslim children begin to wear hijab in schools? Tell me one instance that hijab wearing has been identified as a cause of trouble in schools. Why is it that anything Islam is what is attacked in Nigeria.? Non interest banking is called Islamic banking because of origin, but Nigerian non Muslim does not want to hear the word Islam. Is Nigeria a Christian country when Mrs Jonathan lighted national Chrismas tree last year? |
After careful study of unfolding events, i believe Boko haram is a jihadist movement employed by the north to cleanse its territory of Christian elements, its a well thought out scheme by the hausafulani/kanurii stock. I believe they really don't want it crushed since they still harbour that secret desire to islamatise the entire north. Gej should have acted long ago anyway is better late than never. The army should Smoke them out of the hole!!!
FYI, more than 75% of Nigerian Army lower ranks are Northern Muslims, lets us respect their efforts., blanket religious coloration of BH issue is unfair to majority of Muslims who do not share their devilish views. BH are no respecter of anybody, even though they shout Islam, they kill many Muslims in there operations |
ACF is doing what ordinary people in tje area would expect of them to do. Niger Delta leaders said the same about JTF and Lagosians said the same during the deployment of soildiers after occupy Nigeria last year. They have a duty to cool temper because state of emmegrncy gives the military unlimited power which maybe abused. But the govt have a duty to deal with situations responsibly. |
wasiudvd: I can neve believe this report. Banks do have vault limit, and considering that location, vault limit of 4 banks can not be up to N200M. Ahba!. Even plus ATM. Mtcheew! Some rouge bankers use this kind of opportunity to steal their own, who go confirm from robbers how much they stole? ![]() |
My though exactly. Keeping up to N200m naira in the bank. LIES!
lies are part of war propaganda, have you forgotten weapon of mass destruction that were never found in Iraq? |
bobbteeth: I think the southern muslims are afraid of dying, lol!does it occur to you that Muslims are somewhere else apart from Northern Nigeria? Does it occur to you that UAE, Qatar, Oman that many non Muslims go for vacation, leave and even work are Muslim countries? Does is occur to you that those countries boast of robust and advanced social amenities and institutions? The case of Northern Nigeria is simple case of wicked and callous past leaders who refused to develop their people. When a Governor, (Modu Sherif) could boast publicly that journalists are wasting their time writing about him because 95% of his people cannot read or write , why blame Islam for their woes? |
