this is the real propaganda that you used to hear about. US modern combat weapons have chips for tracking and can be disabled (rendered unusable) by just a button from the Pentagon. They did it in Afghanistan such that the Talibans can't use US made advanced weapons that was sold to the Afghan government. Unless those weapons were the 90s made weapons. I doubt if current US weapons can't be tracked or disabled from the Pentagon especially the ones which can only be accessed by authorised finger print or facial rec. of the holder, which have a self destructive ability after several error attempt or if sensitive parts are illegaly disassembled by unauthorised holders.
