Nigeria is not the only country in the world. Some decisions taken in Nigeria are eternally influenced. If fuel comes too cheap government won't have enough money to run governance. Secondly, smuggling will increase.
The only thing Tinubu did wrong was the abysmal depreciation of naira. If naira could creep back to less than #1000 to a dollar most things will fall back to shape. Internationally a liter of fuel is $0.5. When a dollar was say #700 that was #350 a liter. Now dollar is 1600 and that is #800. Transportation and storage and taxes raised it to over #1000 per liter. Government is paying subsidy to get it at a lower rate presently.

There is no law that says Nigeria's crude must be sold to Dangote at $0.5. It's totally up to the government what they want to do and how they want their citizens to live or suffer. This is a complex matter and i don't think you'll understand what is actually going on. So, let's leave the matter to what it is.

Right, because he bought his raw materials from a third party. In the past, Nigeria would sell 5 barrels of crude oil at the price of 2 (it was like, buy 2 and get 3 free). Then after it's refined, Nigeria buys at similar price 5 litres at the price of 2. That was the subsidy you used to hear about which Tinubu removed. And that was good and needed at the time because people (politicians and generals) hiding under IPMAN were smuggling a significant amount to other countries for personal gains.

Today, Dangote is buying crude from outside at full and current international price and you want to regulate it? It's wickedness because you clearly want his business to fail.

But if they sell the crude to him at a subsidised price, they have all the right to regulate. Got it?

The above statement is so true that it happens even in our families, some of us don't take our own relatives seriously. I think after the tenure of Tinubu, the northerner that will take over will make things a little better than now as Dangote's refinery would be able to buy our crude and refine here then sell cheaper.

In fact, the protest demand should be thus:
1. Since we now have at least one working refinery in Nigeria, let FG bring back petrol subsidy.
2. Let crude oil be sold to Dangote refinery at a very low subsidised rate under an agreement that would birth no. 3 below.
3. Let FG regulate the prices of the refined subsidised product in Nigeria as thus per litre:
a. Diesel - N200
b. Fuel - N100
c. Kerosene - N50

and watch how hardship drops overnight.

Thank God, Dangote opened refinery, we wouldn't have known about this, and our government refinery wouldn't have "promised" to function.

I have two questions to ask the police.

1. What then is the use of NIN-SIM linkage?

2. If the police does not have any share or part in the kidnapping, why then are the kidnappers not tracked and paraded by now since with the narrative of the victims, they can be located easily?

The title for this protest needs to be changed. Instead of #endbadgovernment, let it be tagged #bringbacksubsidy

We need subsidy to come back since Tinubu had no plan to curtail the after effects of subsidy removal. It has to be reasonable rather than being antigovernment with no serious demand that would actually help us.

In the subsidy demand, let FG sell to Dangote refinery at low price and then regulate the sale price to N100 per litre of fuel, N200 per litre of diesel, N50 per litre of kerosene. Hardship will drop drastically. This should be the demand and not some kind of impossible demand for it will only take God to end a bad government without specifying the area one is being bad for. This Sowore protest is baseless with its current tags. And it's the wrong timing.
