Education / Re: Nigerian Emerges Best Student Mathematician In Africa by Renegade(m): 6:11am On Jul 21, 2007
MR ANTHONIO, YOU ARE A DREAMER. THERE'S NOTHING LIKE "HIGH INTELLECTUAL ABILITY" AMONG IGBO NOR IS THERE "VERBAL INTELLIGENCE" AMONG YORUBA. i can point you to Dr Oyesiku (top neurosurgeon) or Dr. Olufunmilayo Olopade (breast cancer research pioneer) to argue that yorubas are medical geniuses. but i won't because i have something you don't have: simple reasoning ability.
PS: most of your "products" attended "yoruba schools."

Men, Come to think of It. Igbo Guys are really trying in terms of having a high intellectual ability. Even though our schools like UNN, UniZIK,FUTO are not as large as the schools in the west OAU and co. Our products are speaking.
Emeagwali, one of the greatest african computer scientists/Mathematicians is an Igbo
Prof. Chukwuma Soludo winner of the 2004 World best CBN governor of the Year is Igbo
Prof. Chike Obi one of the gratest african mathematicians is Igbo.
Imagine what would happen if we have advanced schools. The west (youruba's) appear to be better in literary arts like law, literature etc but obviously not pure sciences. Soyinka, Fawehinmi are examples of their verbal intelligence. In dealing with numbers and abstract reasoning we still top. Maybe that's why we are good with money and business :

1st choice- Gov. Olubukola Saraki of Kwara State.

2nd choice - Gov. Gbenga Daniel of Ogun state

3rd choice - Gov. Orji Kalu of Abia

THE UNDISPUTABLE BEAUTY QUEEN GOVERNOR IS MADAM ALAMS OF BAYELSA (I CAN'T SPELL HIS NAME).
Politics / Re: OPC - Oduduwa People's Congress by Renegade(m): 9:04am On Dec 21, 2005
The OPC is originally a worthy and complex organization that's originally meant to defend the Yoruba people and fight against Abacha's brutal regime when abacha was hunting down yoruba leaders. It was founded by the revolutionary Dr. Frederick Fasheun, but later on, a young hooligan named Ganiyu Adams formed his own corrupt and directionless faction. Gani's faction has been involved in armed robberies, murders, and all kinds of atrocities while Fasheun's faction still maintains its original objective and ideology. i need to state that Gani's faction also had a worthy cause initially. the faction can be likened to the nigerian army, who has no war to fight and therefore unleashes terror on the citizens it is supposed to protect. After the death of sani abacha, the OPC became idle and had no real reason of existence.

IAH:

None of these two candidates will move Nigeria forward.

what do u see, IAH? has marwa given u any reason to doubt his adminstrative capability?
Politics / Re: Who Should Be the Next President of Nigeria? by Renegade(m): 8:20am On Dec 21, 2005
Buba Marwa is my choice- period. it is not that we lack people who can lead better than he can, but they are so far from the corridors of power.

Politics / Re: South Leaders Threaten to Boycott 2007 Polls by Renegade(m): 7:56am On Dec 21, 2005
If these three zones stay together till the end, we'll have a president from the south-south or south-east. The north will have no choice but to provide the vice president. HOWEVER, IF ONE OF THESE SOUTHERN ZONES BACK OUT, ESPECIALLY THE SOUTH WEST, IT'LL BE POLITICAL SUICIDE FOR THE OTHER TWO ZONES TO CONTINUE WITH THE BOYCOTT.

I don't think the north will wait for another 8 years, they can still manage to wait for 4 more years.

hmm. the VP can be kicked out ooo. this is nigeria we are talking about; anything is possible. he shouldn't step on toes especially now that he's not very strong. if he does, the EFCC, SSS, & ALL KINDS OF WAHALA WILL BE KNOCKING AT HIS DOOR. OBJ can't be underestimated ooo. those who have ears...
Politics / Re: Does Nigeria Really Need Another Satellite Now? by Renegade(m): 5:52pm On Dec 20, 2005
well, hotspice, the govt is planning to launch a second satellite in 2006. it can only provide jobs for, at most, a few hundred people. that's is not significant.
secondly, i wasn't talking about car assembly, i am talking about producing our own cars. peugeot is not nigerian.
stable power supply come 2015? wow, Togo will be a superpower by then.

Nairaland / General / Re: Who is a True Nigerian? by Renegade(m): 10:05am On Dec 20, 2005
A true nigerian is someone who has yoruba + fulani + nupe blood in them just like i do. just kidding. being a nigerian is a matter of the heart. unlike some of our leaders, a true nigerian has the interest of nigeria and africa at heart. a true nigerian doesn't bend over to get f*cked by the europeans or americans. i can go on and on, but i really need to crash now or else my chemistry exam will suffer tomorrow. u know that a true nigerian is supposed to lead the class. i'll be back. smiley wink wink cool
Literature / Re: Those Who Love Novels by Renegade(m): 9:52am On Dec 20, 2005
African Writers! hmm, african writers, where hast thou got thy talents?

i dont have much to say. please people, try Nuruddin Farah of Somalia, Buchi Emecheta of Nigeria, and Nawal El Sadaawi of Egypt and you'll know that european and american novelists are intellectual dwarfs compared to african writers. no offense intended ooo! just try them.
Literature / Re: What Nigerian Books Are You Reading? by Renegade(m): 9:44am On Dec 20, 2005
oh nigeria has talented writers- period.
i can't help but reread Eze Goes To School. i read Chinua Achebe's A Man of the People last month. the guy is a bundle of talent. i also read Beyond the Execution by Tom Mbeke. it tells the story of Saro Wiwa and gives insight into ethnic relations and military politics in naija.
Buchi Emecheta is another gifted writer, try reading Moonlight Bride, Bride Price, & The Slave Girl.

Politics / Does Nigeria Really Need Another Satellite Now? by Renegade(m): 9:28am On Dec 20, 2005
With poverty and unemployment of gifted graduates plaguing the land, the last thing we need is a satellite that "monitors disasters." we already have lots of disasters. i consider the present brain-drain one of the top on the list of disasters. in some quarters, people will argue that nigeria needs the image and prestige. sure, we need the prestige. why not start a well-planned car-manufacturing project. nigeria is capable of producing its own automobiles. this will go a long way in providing jobs for our youths. why can't the govt. gather world-class nigerian engineers and investors around the world to make this dream a reality?

However before this can be done, we need stable power supply, which nigeria is capable of providing if the govt. gets its sense of focus and priority right. there are lots of prestigious projects that nigeria can embark on, which will benefit the hungry masses on nigerian soil. do we have citizens in space?
give your views about this topic, people.

PS: I little bit of idealism can be tolerated.
Culture / Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by Renegade(m): 8:59am On Dec 20, 2005
why not? i enjoy being nigerian. in america, people who meet me want to confirm what they've heard about nigerians. they want to know, is he really intelligent, good in bed, aggressive, fraudulent? this gives me d chance to play with their minds. i really enjoy it.
