Scientists at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have unveiled a‘social robot’ called Nadine that looks and acts like its owner. Nadine sits behind the welcome desk at a Singapore university as a receptionist and She smiles when greeting you, looks at you in the eye when talking, and can also shake hands with you."

It very well remembers what you talked about last time she saw you and greets you saying a friendly hello. However, Nadine is among the latest in a line of so-called ‘social robots’, having personalities and emotions of their own.

Nigeria and Switzerland have signed an agreement that paves the way for the return of more than $300 million confiscated from the family of the Nigeria's former military ruler, Sani Abacha, the office of Nigeria's vice president said on Tuesday.

Representatives of the Swiss government are expected in Nigeria March 8, 2016 to discuss with their Nigerian counterparts the repatriation of another portion from the huge public funds stolen by late Head of State, Sani Abacha.


But the Swiss and Nigerian civil society groups, expressed concerns that the fund could disappear just like the repatriated funds by the government of Liechtenstein in 2014 under former President Goodluck Jonathan administration, the $235 million returned by the Liechtenstein government vanished without trace.

Morocco launches mega solar thermal plant set to be world’s largest

King Mohammed VI on Thursday (4 February) inaugurated Morocco’s first solar power plant, a massive project that the country sees as part of its goal of boosting its clean energy output.

The project’s next phases Noor 2 and Noor 3 are to follow this year and next, and a call for tenders is open for Noor 4.


When completed the four plants at Ouarzazate will occupy a space as big as Morocco’s capital city, Rabat, and generate 580MW of electricity, enough to power a million homes by 2018. American conservative Christian pastor uses the Bible to explain why women should not have the right to vote, the right to work outside the home, or the right to seek a divorce.

In a fiery sermon recently uploaded to YouTube, Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church rails against women’s rights, while longing for the good old days, when women had no rights.


Anderson refers to 1 Timothy 2:11 to establish his claim. "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection," he reads. "But I suffer not a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over the man."

The link between MouthAction, HPV and cancer has been receiving more attention in recent years.

HPV is a virus that's transmitted through sexual contact -- genital or oral. There are more than 40 types, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and approximately 79 million Americans are currently infected. Most people have no symptoms.

"HPV is so common that nearly all sexually active men and women will get at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives," the CDC's website states. "In most cases, the virus goes away and it does not lead to any health problems. There is no certain way to know which people infected with HPV will go on to develop cancer."

HPV has also been linked to cervical cancer, penile cancer and anal cancer, according to the CDC.
