Please can someone explain to me how the timer works on the new platform. I have been away for some time. I got an hour call this morning...timer started reading -6:21. I was confused. The call ended without me knowing the real time remaining.

I did an homelight call of almost 7 minutes this morning. Got a 4 rating...I was surprised to see just about $1. Is that how low the pay is currently? shocked

Like someone suggested,go on twitter.I did that foe Gotv and it worked.Lay your complaints there. These corporate organisations dont want their public image to be damaged with its attendant effects.Once you lay a public complaints thru twitters amd tag appropriate regulatory authority, they will respond like a speed of light.Social.media.has its positive impact. You can tell them you were forces to take loan when they didnt respond to you.
You are right, they are so eager to please now, got another call from them this morning, promising me resolution of my complaints today.

What about data service. I have never had any issues with Alat before.
Most errors i get trying to use any of they services are mostly network.
Thats y i suggested the network or browser
It wasn't a network error either. I have used mtn, glo and swift networks, nothing worked. I have even resorted to changing device, still nothing. It's an error from alat's end.

I suspect you are in a fixed deposit account and funds can't be released using the tenure ends. Look at the high interest the money has earned which is a pointer to my submission

Cc Revfada
I am not in a fixed deposit account. It's simply a saving plan. Those using alat knows what i am talking about. The interest you saw were accumulated right from February, so it's not high. Infact the interest rate was reduced from a barely 10% to about 4-5%

I just got a call from an alat agent, he was begging me for more time to address my compliant. I won't have been this bothered if they had done this before now. Suddenly they placed a call to me because i promised to call them out on twitter grin

Go to their branch and create a scene, seems these banks only take aggression seriously.
I have been thinking of doing just this. But i am still kind of hoping on resolving this issue without making a scene at the bank.

I suspect the funds you have in the bank were used as collateral for the loan you took from the bank.

It is likely that there is a lien on your funds and will only be lifted when you fully pay back the loan
No that's not the issue here. I only started taking out loans when they refused to release my funds.

And moreover, paying off an alat loan is automatic, especially when you're liquidating an alat goal. They debit the loan from your fund automatically when you're pulling out your funds from the saving plan.

Go to a physical branch to withdraw your money from Alat account. I guess you need to open a normal WEMA account first. Just request for transfer of funds. You will fill some form and will receive your funds within minutes
I have been to their physical bank to complain, I wasn't told to do any of this. Instead the customer agenr spoke to someone at the head quarter on phone, after which he told me the issue is being resolved. This was since last week.

So here is my story. I opened a WEMA Alat account sometime ago and I subscribed to their saving plan, Alat goal. So far I have saved up to 935k with them.

Trouble started about last two months when I needed cash badly, so I made a move to pull out my funds. Alat WEMA won't let me pull out the funds, they kept saying error and that I should try later. I kept trying to no avail.

I contacted the customer care, they promised to look into it.

With the assurance that the issue would be fixed, I took a 20 percent interest loan from them. My plans was to pay back the loan as soon as they release my funds, which normally they would deducted automatically. I noticed this bank was so quick to give me the requested loan but they won't release my funds.

I tried to withdraw my funds days later with the mindset that the issue has been fixed, yet I still couldn't. Still saying error, try again later.

I got back to their customer care. This was their reply.

"We are so sorry about that. We understand delays could be very frustrating. A fresh reminder has been forwarded to appropriate unit."

They kept repeating same thing for the past two months, nothing was done.

I have been forced to keep taking out loans to survive while my funds lie idle there. Mind you, this loans are on a 20 percent interest rates...and the interest rate have been steadily climbing daily.

They have refused to release my funds and no reason was given why my funds are not being released, just fake promises of forwarding my complaints to the appropriate unit.

Please guys what do I do to make this people take me seriously?

How can I get my funds?

Can I report them to CBN?

If YES, how do I do that?

This is over 2 months, yet nothing is done. I have been patient enough.

Mods please help to take this to front page, I really need exposure on this issue. I need help, please.

Yorubas also said if the fish knew the water he lives with will be used in cooking him,he won't be friends with him.they also said the insect that destroys the plant is inside the leaf.moreover betrayal doesn't always come from an enemy.it comes from a close friend.the Bible has also buttressed this point when it said in the last days Perilous times will come, men will be lovers of themselves, proud, boastful BETRAYERS,HATERS OF FOOD AND LOVERS OF EVIL so it shouldn't be a surprise to you.lastly when God has revealed your frenemy to you,his power over you is destroyed
This is deep. Thanks for the insights.

Sorry about this bro... Simple SIM card lock would have saved you all this...
That guy needs to be dealt with more..
Just one of the things I and most people take for granted. Lesson learnt. I have installed a SIM card lock.

By dealing with him more, do you mean like getting him arrested? He promised to pay the balance of my money by month ending. Should I wait till then before taking further action or report to a police station.

The most annoying thing now is he told my church pastor to beg me. The pastor is using style to say I should forgive and forget about the remaining balance that he is yet to pay.

there's a Yoruba addage that says you know the contents of your heart you don't know for others and a smile doesn't mean they love you.
Yeah, the adage is very apt. This is a guy we cook and eat from the same plate, share a single bottle of beer sometimes. He uses my clothes, my shoes, bring girls to my crib and yet he could do this. He emptied the account, his conscience did not strike him to even leave at least 5k in the account.

Phone is a very private property.its a passage to your life.if you cannot lend anyone your pants or boxers to wear you shouldn't have lent him.

Involve the police and take it up within the jurisdiction of the law
Now i know this. I have always been free with my phone, never thought something like this could ever happen to me.

This wrong, Its called a personal phone. Even my mother can not use my phone not to talk of a friend.
Some of us Nigerians a wicked to ourselves.

Your friend should have asked you to give him some money and pay later. I did visa for one of my friends to come abroad, he arrived and few weeks, he wanted to sleep with my fiancee. When i go the news i rented an apartment for him, He was free and was moving everywhere looking for women without thinking, Police caught him as he was toasting a white woman by force.

He was deported to Nigeria.

He is now in the village chasing rats and animals in the bush.

Don't ever leave your personal things unattended to where Nigerians are. Most of us are wicked.
Ha...are there no true friends again?

I have learnt my lessons though. After collecting the new sim he swapped, i inserted it in my phone and placed a sim lock on the sim too.

Funny enough, he used my details to swapped the sim, still wondering how he did that.

About 4 days ago, Someone I thought was my very close friend hacked my SIM and stole All the money in my account.

This so called friend came to borrow my phone to browse and I gave it to him willingly. He returned my phone few hours later and I noticed there wasn't any network signal bar on my phone. I overlooked it.

And for the rest of that day, no network. Still I wasn't bothered. I had to swap my SIM for a glo sim in order to browse later that evening.

Fast forward to three days later, I had to check my mailbox for a mail, only for me to encountered several debit alerts emails from my bank. I was shocked as I didn't make any transactions. I quickly logged in with my bank app to check my account details and I was shocked to see that I did transfers to a access bank account number and I also bought airtime for a strange mtn number via USSD. Which I never did. My account balance was reading just 150 Naira from a previous 230,000 naira. I did my best to get a hold of my bank on phone and explained to the customer care. And I was told, the transactions I did came directly from my SIM card via USSD.

I inserted the Sim card in my phone, still not showing anything. No network. At this point I was quite agitated. So I called Mtn customer care with another line and I was told a SIM swap was done on my line recently.

And that's when it all dawned on me. The last person who used my phone with my mtn line was my so called friend. So I went to his place to confirm, he flamed up when I asked him if he did a SIM swap on my line, he shouted at me, calling me all sort of names.

I noticed he's got a new phone. This is someone that's was saying he was broke recently.

So I left his place and went to report the matter to some street friends of mine...they followed me to his place and after some series of slaps, he confessed he swapped my mtn sim and withdrew the money in my account.

So far I have recovered 100k and the phone from him.

I'm still thinking of getting him arrested. Should I? Or I should just let the street guys retrieve my balance money from him?

Mods OAM4J, Mynd44. This need to get to front page, people need to learn from this.
