CirocBoi:
Flash custom recovery and install pixel experience ROM should fix the problem, or simply root via magisk there should be a module that can fix that

Thanks for this.. can you send any links where I can get the requisite files.

BenDanor:
OK it's more of a mic issue right?

Something is conflicting with the mic.. (Google Play services)

it's 100% software issues.
Like I said, on android 7.1 everything works fine.

BenDanor:
Have u considered fixing it?

Sorry for the misinformation, it doesn't really loss sound completely, just the mic responsible for making calls and recording sound. Aside that, speaker phone works, playing music, videos, even make calls on loudspeaker.

And about fixing, it's more a software glitch than hardware (I checked XDA forum, Google support etc), cos the issue started after updating the phone, if I downgrade to android 7.1, everything works normally (I have confirmed it) (I have other phones I use, so I use this pixel for my camera snaps, and the android 10 experience)

BenDanor:
Please can you post the pics of the phone? Do you mean loses sound entirely or the sound went low?

Yeah loses sound entirely (the need for the Bluetooth headset)

I use the pixel XL.. battery is 34++ but not too good, can barely last a day on a full charge, aside that and the fact that there is this audio problem which is most likely to happen on pixel phones before 2017, where the phone loses sound after update. (Though sound works perfectly with Bluetooth headset)

The iPhone 6s on the other is also a great device, as it can get iOS 13 currently (though that will be the last major update)

So if your options are just the two devices, go for Google Pixel XL. Better camera and battery.

PS: should you decide on the Pixel, I will give you mine for 30k (currently on android 10), use 5k or less buy Bluetooth headset and keep the change

I upgraded to android 10 this morning,

Nothing much changed..

No sound during call (I can hear the other person on loudspeaker but they can't hear me)

I can record videos now (no sound, just visual)

I can record WhatsApp voice notes (no sound is coming out)

I can view WhatsApp videos now.

I think the problem has to do with something that picks up sound from my own end

visita:
Sounds more like a software issue to me. My advice: upgrade to 10, see if the update will fix it.

Djdamian:
FU?

It can't be FU nah...

I have issue(s) with my google pixel XL..

1. I can't make calls(even with Bluetooth headset),
2. Record video(automatically puts my phone in "do not disturb")
3. Send voice notes, even to view WhatsApp video status..
4. I can't play songs through earpiece but can through Bluetooth.

basically, most things that has to do with audio though I can still play music and watch videos on my phone using the phone speaker and Bluetooth headset..

All these started after upgrading my phone from android 7 to 8 (android 10 upgrade available but I de fear make matters no worse)
What could be the problem.. and possibly solutions too..
