Religion / Re: Are Athiest The Most Intelligent People? ? by Rhino3dm: 5:32am On Sep 28, 2010
. . . Aloora, the pathetic e-coward is AWOL.
Pastor AIO:

What I'll need from you is
1) a specific indication as to what part is nonsense and how it is nonsense.

2) a description of human wisdom, and how it works, in comparison with Godly wisdom and how that works.

3) Is Godly wisdom to be equated with Faith?

4) Is intelligence, such as we are taught in school and by our parents, to be used at all in understanding the bible? For example when I was in school I studied English comprehension where we were given a short text to read and then we were asked to answer certain questions about the text.
Consider this text:

Charlotte gently breathed unto her cup of tea and then left it to the table while she went into the kitchen to do the dishes. After doing the dishes she returned to find her cup of tea a lot cooler and quite ready to drink. She picked up her newspaper and slowly read through the first page intermittently lifting the cup of tea to her lips to take a sip.

Question 1) Where did Charlotte drink her cup of Tea?
ans a) in the kitchen or b) not in the kitchen.

Question 2) Why did Charlotte breathe into her cup of tea?
ans a) to cool it down or b) to give it spiritual power.

Question 3) When did Charlotte drink her tea?

ans a) before doing the dishes or b) after doing the dishes

Please Davidylan can you tell me if the skills one is required to develop in order to answer these questions properly can be used in understanding the bible?

Religion / Re: But That's The Old Testament by Rhino3dm: 9:22am On Sep 25, 2010
vescucci:

Trying to deny the relevance of the old testament to Christianity borders on the ridiculous. Let's allow for all the wishful thinking that discredits Paul's authenticity as an apostle and also his students and friends who appear to be among the bible writers. That leaves us with only Matthew's and John's and only a few gospels. In these gospels, they repeatedly refer to the old testament books as confirmation of Jesus as the legitimate fulfiller of the prophecies of the old testament. Jesus himself was well grounded in Jewish practices and only disrespected Sabbath which is not relevant to my argument. He quoted verses from the old testament. Did he forget to tell his disciples to 'scratch that' in a manner of speaking? The point is Yahweh, Moses, Joshua, Solomon and the lot of the characters of the old testament. Did they do all that was said they did? Did Yahweh endorse all their actions? Is Yahweh the same God as Jesus' father? If not, doesn't that make all the old testament characters idol worshippers and confused? And the gospel writers, doesn't that make them some disciples indeed if they believed in these idolators as God's representatives? Some sophisticated Christians have a knack for re-interpreting bible verses into things that the writers themselves have no ideas about. Allegories they say. What is the use of an allegory that is not apparent? All of Jesus' parables are easily discernable. Can God be said to be so vagarious as to go from a terribly jealous God to a sissy who's in love with us all? Sometimes I've heard the OT referred to as specifically for the Jews. Do these Jews have dirt on God that accounts for this special treatment or what? Why are they 'chosen' and 'chosen' for what? I really don't know all if any of the answers but truth is truth and falsehood is falsehood. They do not belong in the same place

I know its kind of funny but at times am forced to believe that athiest are the most intelligent and educative people. When you take a dispassionate glance at  majority of the posts in this section you will get a clue of what am instinuating. Though am not one of them, but i have to give it to them. Infact  i felt it will right if mods introduce a psychometric test as a pre-requisite in this section with a minimum cut off IQ and the results to be displayed automatically close to all user's ID.  what do you think? ?

And if you are still in doubt just lacate "How Joeagbaje Became God" for quick refrence.
While i wait replies i will want every body to repeat this  statement before posting

' AM NOT GOING TO BE BIAS'

Religion / Re: Was The Trinity Doctrine Invented At A Council Meeting Or By The RCC? by Rhino3dm: 6:17am On Sep 22, 2010
Deep Sight:

Well for those who are too lazy to visit links, let me provide the words of Jesus HIMSELF on this matter and you can judge whether or not he claimed to be God:

John 8:40: “, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God.”

John 17:3: "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

Mark 13:32:"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

John 5:19: "Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does”

John 14:28: "You heard me say,'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I."

John 20:17: "Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them,'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”

Mark 10:18: “Do not call me good, only God is good.”

SO" What did Jesus claim? ? ?

At about 60km to markurdi we started visualizing a kind of chaos in the middle of the road and when we came very close we notice i was an accident, the first bus i was supposed be in had an head to head collision with another and the village rescuers were busy looting thier belongings while all you hear is a pain-like sound and struggling form different dirction. We make a quick effort vacate our bus serach for the few survivors. . . .

I was traumatised and hospitalized for like a month and keep on visualizing that moment for a long period of time. Since then i conquered death and i was virtually living on a borrowed life. Could i be right if i called the above a miracle? ? And if yes to whom should i creadited it to if miracle is a patentship of christains. Waiting for your candid response please.
Religion / Re: Seyibrown Come And Defend Your Faith. by Rhino3dm: 6:58pm On Sep 19, 2010
. . . I was with him in thier house and we were alone cos his parents had taking refuge in the military barracks. Suddenly he excuses me with the intention of just buying biscuit in the neighbourhood. For a while something crosses my mind that i should scare him of,f when he his back then i decided to hid at the back of the entrance door and scream at him. The sound of foot steps caused me to tip-toed pause for a moment at the back of the door. All of a sudden i notice that he was not alone from the irregular foot steps, the next thing i hear was a loud bang on me been that i was already at back of the door. My best friend led some group of people to come and kill me in thier house. I was virtually dead at that moment. The one of the said that "dan buran uban ya fita" . . . Meaning the stupid guy has left.

. . . And national festival of sport was going on, i refuse to hid to the warning and went a head to watch basket ball in an indoor sport hall, unknowing to me the then military administrator has giving a shoot on sight order to the military. I was among the only survivor in a number of closed to 100 death bodies. It was very terrifying at the moment cos i was soak in pool of blood, but i was ok. Later that night my uncle warned me and ask me to stay in door. The next was a dusk to down curfew and just took a walk within my vicinity to see my friend. . .
