Many of Nigerians there are studying...and most study normal secular subjects.

Reason why they go there is the same reason why they go to Ghana, Cyprus and other countries. Our university system does not have enough space for everyone wanting to study in Nigeria. That's why Obasanjo allowed private universites...and why JAMB combined the entrance exam for both poly and universites....so that if you don't get into university, you enter a polytechnic. Even then, spaces are not enough, despite that.

Sudan has been largely peaceful until the last few years too.

Sudan has naver been peacefull, not long ago their was a referendum between Sudan and South Sudan. Before then Sudan has always been a war ravaged Country.
I am a Muslimm but i can never go o a country like Sudan, given its link to International Trrorism
