I married a lady I upgraded to my taste... Its 4 years now, she gives me peace like never before.

If you are having a serious health emergency in Nigeria, you are likely on a death sentence because when they take you to the hospital, the medical personnel needed to treat you or the equipment needed to stabilise you will not be available. Only God will decide you case at that moment.

Nigeria is really messed up.

Nigerian health sector is in a complete mess. The only thing saving that sector is some private hospitals or the ones owned by churches. Those hospitals have a bit of standard, but they are mostly beyond the reach of the common man.

And since they are built for profit making, they don't usually have equipment to handle complex situations. All they treat is malaria typhoid as it's the most common treatment that people come for.

Let me not even talk about small govt hospital like general hospitals and the rest. There you will go and they will tell you no gloves, no syringe. Even some common drugs like PCM are sometimes not available.

A full blown hospital will not have light and they are expected to operate at night.

This same teaching hospital, you will come for minor operations like tonsillitis, hernia, appendix and co... They will now book you two to three years time. If you complain, they will say there is plenty cue. Now if there is plenty cue, why can't the hospital management organise more doctors and ensure that they outstandings are cleared... No way.

This thread above is on the front page. I was reading through it and saw people complaining that "how can Nigerian hospitals not have anti venom."

I just shake my head. It's either majority of those people making that comment are not in Nigeria or they think that anti venom is something you pick on the road.

More than 50% of Nigerian hospitals do not have basic emergency kits not to talk of anti venom.

I can't count how many times we have gone to the children emergency ward in a teaching hospital and they will tell you no bed space.

My neighbour had an accident. Hit his head in the road. We arrived this same teaching hospital around 10pm. Despite all our helter skelter, despite money spent. The guy was scheduled for emergency operation. 2pm of the next day, they are still waiting for doctor to come. The guy didn't make it.

This same teaching hospital, you will go there for dialysis and some of the things needed to conduct the dialysis, the hospital will say they don't have and hence can't do the dialysis except you go and buy it. This is after you have made full payment to the hospital that is supposed to cover everything.

Govt in action will be the number 1 catalyst that will push this country into doom...

As a man... Marry any lady that gives you peace and willing to stand with you...

Then over time, you upgrade her to any standard you want. If it's skill, enrol her. If it's education plan and send her to school.
