Travel / Re: Delta Awards Contract For Second Int’l Airport by richforeva: 2:35pm On Dec 13, 2013
@ litetias Please tell me the history of the Ibos in delta. I really will want to know. ….
You can not say you are tolerating a people who do not want to be with you .The Anioma people are not begging to be in delta state. Consider this, will any part of the state will tolerate your peope if delta should split? your people have been in leadership the state since its inception and have messed things up . You not deserve to ever be in power again
Travel / Re: Delta Awards Contract For Second Int’l Airport by richforeva: 2:02pm On Dec 13, 2013
Delta state is in a very sorry state indeed. It is one of the richest state in this country but also the most blatantly mismanaged. A situation worsened by the ethnic divisions in the state. Tell me what is the need for awarding contract for another international airport in the state when the on at Asaba is far from being completed. Asaba remains the ONLY state capital that does not have a step down transformer ( the government has been building one for the past 16 years with absolutely nothing to show. The result is that as of today, the state capital is being serviced by a single line from Obosi, the same line that serviced Asaba when it was a LGA head qtr . Till date that line has not been upgraded. The result is an average of 2h electricity or worse / day is Asaba and environs.
There is NO state government hospital in Asaba, No roads ,No functioning municipal water supply
No stadium ,absolutely no functional government amenity in Asaba . After 16 yrs of democracy in one of the richest state in the country this is pitiable situation. So another international airport in Warri is unnecessary and waste in a state that has not provided basic amenities for its citizens

Education / Re: LASU Students Protest The Increment Of Fees From N25,000 To N250,000 by richforeva: 4:23am On Oct 30, 2011
Education should not be a revenue generating mechanism be it at primary, secondary or tertiary level. It is the duty of government to provide education at all levels. If fees are to be charged, the average wages in the country should be used as a guide in arriving at a justifiable fee . A situation were it would take If 14 salary (calculating with the minimum wage ) just to pay tuition for one student for one session is unjustifiable. When we compare the fees paid in Nigeria to those paid in Europe and America, we conveniently DIS REMEMBER the purchasing power of the western world and the safety nets like education loans and scholarships that are easily available. Last time I checked there were still countries that offered education at all levels to their citizens.
In the case of Nigeria, masses have been over stretched. They are forced to provide their own water, electricity, and security because these social services simply not being provided adequately by the government. Arbitrarily increasing the cost of education with out providing workable safety nets is callous.
The argument that Nigerian Universities are not charging commensurate fees is also flawed. Let us not forget that no one economic model is perfect. In the nineties when communism collapsed every body believed that communism was backward and retrogressive. Now capitalism is on the brink of collapse –evidenced by the severe economic crises in the US and Western Europe. Ironically the most stable economy as of today is “Communist China”. The point being that Nigerians should not be forced to pay so much for education because other countries do; neither should education be free just because it is free in other countries. The authorities should consider the average earning power of her citizens in fixing these fees so that the poor masses are not deprived the chance of bettering their lot. 250K as tuition in a government university is simply too much!!
Politics / Re: The Monumental Waste Called Delta State by richforeva: 9:05pm On Oct 22, 2011
@beef .I am also from delta and sencse like this can be found ineven in the two most developed town in Delta state- any part of costal Warri and Asaba at cable point. For all I care are those pictures could have been taken in Delta State. There are no sign post to indicate from where they originated. I just cannot trust your integrity. Going to this length to defend one of the worst performing governors speaks a lot. The reason why our leaders will continue to impoverish us is because of people like you. Bloody sycophants!!

I know Benin Very Very well. Honestly  the pictures are deliberately misleading . They were all taken in the same place –Ring road. Apart from Ring Road, majority of the other roads in Benin are a complete write off. Most of the roads that that were rehabilitated were so poorly done that after rehabilitation the roads deteriorate rapidly and within days they are worse than there were before the rehabilitation. For example roads like uselu -Ugbowo road, New Lagos road Upper Adesuwa etc .  Now there are a lot of roads that were motorable before the governor came on board but today are not passable.  Example Uwelu  .This  government has a knack of working on already  GOODroads in Benin .Take Akpakpava for example It was  the best road in Benin when it resurfaced Same can be said of Ring road.  The Aim is likely to window dress these roads especially as they are the roads visitors to Benin would most likely use. Thus giving a false impression of performance

Foreign Affairs / Re: Gaddafi's youngest son and 3 grandchildren killed in NATO air strike by richforeva: 12:14am On May 03, 2011
Like Gaddafi is a saint. Here is a man who have ruled a country for over 40 yrs and have tolerated absolutely no opposing views. According to the Gadafi doctrine , forming a political party is a serious enough crime to warrant execution. Here is a man who have sponsored coups and spread instability in Africa (including Nigeria).SO ,true to his nature when his people called for reforms he unleashes mercenaries and the army on the same people he claims to be serving. He is presently engaged in a killing spree using all sorts of weapons against defenceless people. How many of other people’s sons and grand children has he killed? This beast deservers no mercy. He is ready to sacrifice the whole of Libya as long a he remains in power .I have no pitty for him, I wish it was really true he lost relatives in the bombings. Unfortunately I don’t think any he lost any . If you have follow the war you will find that Gaddafi uses very thing for propaganda . The son he claims to have lost (Al Arab) was never heard off until the day he was killed in a bomb blast.
Health / Re: My Dad's Doctor Attitude Shocked Me (pls Read My Story) by richforeva: 11:33pm On May 02, 2011
@olumdefire To begin with tell us you full name so we can take you seriously. Your allegations are serious and could lead to the collapse of the hospital that way if your accusations are false, you could be sued. Secondly if you have any misgivings about this particular doctor there are proper ways of channelling your complaints –ministry of health , The Nigerian medical and dental council ,or even in a law court. You have no right to defame some body on a social media. Finally , My dad was still on therapy and the doctor went to him and took his walker from him (from 65 years old man) and stop nurses to go to his room again and ordered him out of his hopital , Now i need a normal physical therapist to help continue the therapy at Apata Ibadan…,
that sounds like a physiotherapist
Health / Re: W.H.O Bans Some Malaria Drugs In Nigeria by richforeva: 2:44pm On Apr 27, 2011
Well haven’t read the full text of the WHO report . Banning the use of artemesin monotherapies makes sense because use of artemesins alone as mono therapy will promote resistance to the drug and thus render it useless. But a blanket ban on the use of chloroquineand sulphadoxine pyremethamine does not make sense. To begin with Non falciparun malaria(not very common in Nigeria) is stll quite sensitive to chloroquine and it makes economic sense to use chloroquine for treating such malaria even in Nigeria. Besides chloroquine has other uses apart from treating malaria. For the Sulphadoxine pyremethamine group, they are still recommended for prophylaxis and as such should not have been banned.
@obailala. There is no best brand for treating malaria! even the ACTs still being develoaped. Some combinations are known to cause severe side effects are falling out of favour while new combinations are being researched .ACTs are not for every and anybody as presence of some medical conditions would prohibit the use of some of these combinations.
Please discuss with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt.
Politics / Re: The Unrest Is Over - North Pacified by richforeva: 10:14pm On Apr 19, 2011
So, So sad. These were young people so full of life, who needlessly and callously cut down in their prime while on service to their country. Some official (Government, Religious or Traditional) will offer a casual ‘sorry‘ to the families and then all will be forgotten. No body stops to think about the scars that the families will bear for life. The whole nonsense of NYSC should be scraped!! and I have always advocated legalising arms in this country after all in Nigeria the citizens have learnt to provide their own electricity privately, they dig their private bore holes, go to private hospitals, attend private school, etc why restrict them from privately securing them selves? If these poor souls were armed they would not have been soft target
