@Ray360, you probably picked an appointment date that is too early. You should have given it at least 2 weeks from the day of your application. You should get an email of approval message before proceeding for your biometric capture. I spoke to an NIS officer, and he said users are allowed to come for capture on the appointment date or any day after but not before. So, you can wait until you get the approval email before going for your capture. It doesn't matter if your appointment date has elapsed. Here's the approval email I got before proceeding for capture.

So to be honest with you, another list is coming out, but this list is not really base on merit. For your name to be there, it determines the level of your connection.
