Quick question, how serious are both of you in this relationship? Do you see yourselves getting married or have you decided to get married?

I am asking because it seems the girl wants to use the child as an insurance in case you decide not to marry her in the near future or as a means to persuade you to marry her faster.

Well since she wants to keep the child, there isn't much you can do about it. I don't mean to sound rude but you brought this upon yourself and you have to bear the full consequence.

Since you objected to her keeping the child and she went against your objection, she shouldn't force all the burden of providing for the child's upkeep on you.

Wrong wrong wrong. At 25, she is no longer a child and she understands it. People have kids much earlier these days. Marriage would not be Paramount on her mind because they are both still in school. So forget the story of tying him down.

The minute two people decide to be involved sexually, whether with or without protection they stand the risk of getting pregnant.

The burden of providing for that child is on him whether he let's her keep it or not.

Lastly, the decision to keep an unexpected child is hard. So OP should just start finding ways of earning extra cash. Others did it. You will not die.

The feelings will not go away easily. But eventually, with time, when you look back it wouldn't hurt again. Same happened to me. I kept seeing him and it usually hurts but at some point in my final year, it was just normal.

What you just posted can start an e-fight. A foreigner identified a problem with that cuts across all parts Nigeria and the first thing to do is to attribute it to one tribe.

I could point out flaws in your argument but I will not so that peace can reign. You know that Nairaland has a tribal issue. We, that are in neither faction by choice should try to make a bridge for tolerance, not to start another e-fight.
