Hi Nairalanders, I learnt of a method of reducing international call charges by transfering voice over internet protocol (voip). Someone recomended skype and said i can call U.S, Canada & many other countries for just $0.02/minute. I would like to find out if this is really true and if there are other companies that offer such rates for international calls. Thanks.

Hi Obong, voip is available wheresoever there is internet access. I use an inexpensive voip service for making my international calls. You can call US, Canada & many other countries for just about 3cent/minute. Visit www.skype.com to sign up. please i use a GPRS modem and i find it challenging to connect my modem to glo or zain's internet service. I t gives me an error message "PPP not supported".
Can anybody out there tell me what to do? Or can i only connect using a mobile phone?
