I really need to know the amount one pays for imported gadgets. The reason is that a friend in the UK is planning to send HP laptop to me through his friend that is coming to Nigeria and his friend complain about Custom duty he's going to pay on it.
Please I want you to tell me your experience regarding this and the possible amount they charge as Custom duty.

Good evening bosses. Pls i have a question to ask. A friend of mine who is among the current batch C2, applied for relocation while she was in camp so as to enable her get an exit to go get a treatment for herself.

So now, she has changed her Mind about the relocation and had to cancel the thing on her dashboard. They left camp on Tuesday and till now, she's not been able to get her PPA letter or confirmation that her cancellation of relocation has been granted.

Pls bosses, any solution on this?

Custom is not in your hand but only hoping, renting of house is in your hand and you face the consequences of not doing the right thing at the right time.

They intentionally stop the payment, sending complaint wouldn't solve the issue, the only way we can get it is to call them out en masse on their various social media, hash tags Will go a long way.

Finding a way to fill the vacant slots means there's hope for them

For that I don't know how they will do it, but there might be hope. Last time they released two lists for medicals, this time two exams. There are probably some local governments that failed to produce their candidates in yesterday's exams(you heard what those present yesterday were saying there was low turn up). Some that will pass the exams will still not pass medicals (may it not be our portion). Check the comment from customs official facebook page, Federal Character Commission is looking at them, senate and reps committees on Customs are also looking and since the customs insists on sincerity from beginning they will try to find a way to fill the vacant slots that will be available.

Do you think there's hope for those that have not been shortlisted at all since some did not turn up for the last exams.

I think shortlisting many people is not a MUST to customs, but will make them have VARIETY to choose from. They could have even decided to finish the recruitment from the original 2019 application, but the grace decided to reach 2021 and here we are.

The guy must be very lucky, he doesn't need competition, because shortlisting 2 candidates means 50-50% chance to each, 3 means 33% but 1 candidate in an entire local government means there is like 99-100% chance that he will be shortlisted for medicals, and as soon as he pass medicals he will be recruited as custom officer.

If you check other LGAs in other states they always shortlist many under cadre 08, why one in my own LGA so far.

They need only one person for cadre 08 in your local govt, since customs didn't shortlist anybody again for yesterday's exams, it means the guy don pass June exams. If to say he failed they will have to shortlist another candidate to fill the vacancy, and write yesterday's exams.

For those that passed out, nobody was shortlisted for cadre 08 in Ilorin west LGA Kwara state, then only one person was also shortlisted for exams in June from the same LGA, same cadre, then non was shortlisted for the last exams from that LGA for that Cadre. Where is the fairness?

Truth is, I'm not expecting camp/training to start not till next year after election.. from all indications, the final list should be available before the end of the year but training would be after election. I don't think they would want to keep people in camp during election.
