A former Nigerian pepper hawker took to her Facebook timeline to share her success story! Bola who is the last child out of five revealed how she worked hard to become the first black PhD holder in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan... read below...

As the 5th child of 5, I always had to wait for my turn. I was the last, a girl child and raised by a mother who is farmer and a father who has little, I hawked pepper on the streets of Ibadan as early as age 10 to help my mum. Went to public primary and secondary school in Ibadan. Attended OOU and studied Physics. Because I had a 2.1, it opened the door for me to proceed to Finland for a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering. During this masters degree, I worked part-time as a cleaner and did this after my Masters as well. Out of determination, I applied to over 100 schools for my PhD and finally got a full 3 year scholarship (later extended to 4 years scholarship) at University of Saskatchewan, Canada to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. While in that PhD program, I worked part-time as a makeup artist, teaching assistant, braided hair and fix weaves to make extra money.
Today I walked the stage as the first black person to bag a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Saskatchewan, Canada!!! I walked this stage for you Mama Africa and for my Motherland Nigeria!!! I walked the stage for all of you black women disrespected and looked down on!!!! I walked for all of you from my ghetto hood "Mokola", Ibadan. I walked for all OSU students and ex-students that got that look from people who think we are not brilliant!! I walked for all of you Africans in Finland wondering what is next for you!!
Specially, I walked for you my parents. siblings and extended family in fulfillment of your dreams! Specially, I walked the stage for you my late sister Omoleye Olubamiji and my late mentor Ayodele Olatunbosun. Today I walked for my future husband and my unborn children who patiently waited for me to fulfill my dreams so that he can have a wife he will be proud of and they can have a role model to look up to. I walked for all immigrants and all young adults who strived everyday chasing their dreams!!! I walked in celebration of the unfailing love of my first and one truly true love Jesus Christ (in you I walk in you I live and in you I have had and will continue to have my being)!!!
Be bold, be innovative, be different, be you, be everything you want to be but remember to put God first!!! Controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo who was detained for 81 days and now a political activist has thanked people who reached out to her while in prison and people who are currently contributing to help her offset her bills.
he former governor of Oyo state sent a shout out to actress, Georgina Onuoha who despite their social media war, called for her release from prison. She also revealed actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima reached out to her while in prison.
She wrote;

“Today I’m waking up as a political activist. The hashtag is #hnnact Journalism @hnnafrica will be back after my trial. I lost close to $300k in wages, ads, freelance assignments and revenues. My travel docs also seized and tied to my job. I have run out of money. Flights back and forth to #PortHarcourt trial, hotel, transportation to court is why I set up a post for legal expenses. Another one is going up today on #GoFundMe Thanks to all those who sent me money so far. I appreciate you all. The love and support is overwhelming. Nollywood director an actor Yomi Fashlanso has narrated how his father sowed his car key into the life of their pastor! It's an interesting and funny one, read below...

When I was a kid, my dad bought a new car and drove us to church one Sunday. It was a prophetic service and our pastor was being used by God that day to deliver people from poverty.

Suddenly, our pastor looked at my dad and said, "Mr. Alamu, God is set to bless you" my mum jumped up and shouted excitedly, "Amen!!!" My dad was excited too.

The pastor then came closer, placed his hand on my dad's head and prayed for him. As our pastor turned to climb the altar, the spirit of God told him something.

He stopped, looked at my dad and said, "Mr. Alamu did you buy a new car last week?" "Yes sir" my dad responded with much surprise on his face.

Then our pastor said; God said I should tell you to sow your CAR KEY into my life"

I was shocked that my dad did not argue with the pastor, he just put his hand in his pocket, brought out the car key and gave it to our pastor.

After about 5 minutes, my dad stood up, went outside the church, he didn't even wait till the end of the service. I could see him entering Okada going home. "He must be very worried" I reasoned in utter fear and confusion.

After a while he returned to church with the SPARE KEY of his car and drove the car back to the house.

I was so stunned at what I was seeing.

So when I asked him why he acted that way he said: "Oluwayomi" always use your brain, the pastor asked for the KEY and NOT the CAR"! Thanking you so much my BABA for impacting knowledge.

Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, management has Suspended All Religious Activities In The School's Hostels, they also reportedly ordered the demolition in halls of residence.
In a memo released to the students on 4th of June (see memo below) by the Dean, Student Affairs, It states that any student that fails to comply will face disciplinary actions which may include expulsion.
Students are advised to pray in their individual rooms or move to religious centers! Photos below...

A police officer in Katsina state was arrested last week and is to face jail term in for hacking into over 40 MTN-Lumos mobile electricity devices.

The officer who is in the engineering department of the police hacks into the device for just N4000 so that the purchasers of the device will not have to subscribe again, but he met his downfall after he was set up by the organization and was caught red handed.
He has however been dismissed and is currently held at the state CID!
