Does uber accept other state road worthiness ( say Ogun State)?? Sent someone and he said they didn’t accept it, but I think it’s federal and not state?

I picked a guy and a lady on Taxify around Ikeja, the stopped by a bank and the guy enter left the lady in d car. Me after 10 mins I turned off my AC and rolled down, the lady said why me go off AC I told her I can’t be biting my fuel without moving, she just open d door and left without paying. I trust UBER on this I will even get compensation.

Have been here over 30 minuets I dropped someone and na transfer he do and money never enter. I won’t leave here until I see my 5k

So, today I was somewhere on Island relaxing in my car, i thought of going to car wash to clean up my car and my car refused to start. I sensed it’s the ba3 and it never disappointed me before. The battery was dead, so I requested for an Uber the guy promised to come but never shows up, I ordered another and he humbly said he will be with me as soon as he could. Thank god I have a jumper cable so it made it easy. I sha spent 23k on battery today. The battery didn’t give me any sign at all. The Camry guy that came to assist me thank You I really appreciate if you here. And to you that didn’t show up thank you and you can also need someone’s help one day. God know I will always help anyone that calls me for assistance anytime of the day if I am available. Let’s be supportive.

She was also willing to wait as there was no car available that moment. Thought I’d reach her earlier but the traffic tie wrapper.

I think it's not fair for you to have kept a rider waiting minimum 2 hours, 2.9x surge or not! Put yourself in her shoes!
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ridwanadedapo(m): 8:15am On Mar 29, 2018
Got a 2.9 surge request yesterday on VI, the rider is on Adeola Odeku and I will as coming from Ajose Adeogun, I couldn’t get to her for 2 hours. After several pleading to wait for me. She just didn’t answer my calls.

If you are not in a surge area, don’t rush to surge and if you will have to do that do it wisely.

God Bless You Romeo! I just don’t see reason to be arguing with him cos he knows nothing! Everyone must not be like him. I just have to laugh him cos he knows nothing. God Bless the good heart.

Romeo3:
You need to relax.
His perspective is as a car owner who has driven his own Car, and still drives his Car, AND, as a rider, who has been in other uber cars and seen that
1. Uber drivers need advise sometimes. You don't bottle up emotions and then wait so that you can rate 1 star. That's not maturity.

2. Rating system is wrong. Even with a nice personality, clean car and everything, a rider will rate you 1 star, simply because they do not like the car you are driving, and then uber will deactivate you because you received low ratings on a car that they accepted on their platform without inspecting. Does that sound right or fair? Uber has a stupid rating system. Taxify is better organized in that aspect. Atleast, they carry out physical inspection and reject some cars some times, therefore, if you are banned from taxify everyone blames you. but uber?

3. Drivers have families. Yes. Anything wrong about That? I met a driver today with qualifications people dream of. He drives uber because he was laid off and has to find another way to provide for his family. Did he break the law?

4. Car might be bad or are all cars on uber excellent? Do you, or do you not know that sometimes, partners ask drivers to manage a car till next week before fixing and they have to manage it because they have a family to provide for?

5. If you are in a bad car + The driver has a bad attitude, by all means, rate him low. If car is bad and he is nice, show concern, be human and ask what happened, and advise. ask questions and don't jump to conclusions.

If anyone needs to be banned, it has to be you. Stop looking down on people. One bad person doesn't mean 100dreds are bad. Your opinion is flawed too. but you don't see anyone quoting you 10 times to talk on one quote. We learn everyday.

relax and learn

With the way to type, one would think you have put measures in place to weed out bad drivers.... but a driver returned your "perfect car".

have you learnt or you are just interested in being "king of memes"?

Lols!

dru23:

My guy we need to ban you. Fellow nairalander after fully reading this man posts on uber. We need to get the moderator to officiallly ban him not only from the uber thread, but from nairaland in general. Your attitude and statement are the reason why Nigeria can not go forward at all . I am boiling hot blood after reading all your comments. Reason for the official ban is as follows
1. Advice the uber driver
2. Rating system is wrong
3. The drivers too have family
4. Car might be bad etc
5. You want to spoil their future. Etc and etc
Over to the moderator for further and final review... but before that please take 1 , I meant 2 no sorry just take as many as possible

Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ridwanadedapo(m): 10:47pm On Mar 24, 2018
Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion so pls I still stand on that based on my experience as a driver and as a partner! Everybody are not the same. There are bad ones and there are good ones.

dru23:

My guy did all these just come out of your mouth... ?rating system is wrong... just advise them .... etc

The fact that you are a driver and rating a driver like you low cos of AC wasn’t cold on arrival is unjustifiable.
Am saying this as a rider and a drivers perspective.

chillex8:
Make Una go move Lagos.
Leave rider wey wan rate 1 star alone.
Driver, you sef rate am 1 star..

Both of you will never cross paths on Uber.

Life goes on

The heavens won't come down.

P.S Why is no one blaming the car owner for fielding a defective car cheesy
Abi, na d driver spoil ac himself :PP

Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ridwanadedapo(m): 3:37pm On Mar 24, 2018
Every driver has the way the run their business! So, you expect a driver to be running on AC for 30 - an hour while waiting for request? Some will do it and some won’t. it’s not economical.

Carshopper:

I really don't understand why they put off the ac or wait till they get to pick up point before they on Ac..
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ridwanadedapo(m): 3:33pm On Mar 24, 2018
Am not here to argue this but the rating system is very wrong! I am saying this cos I know better but sometimes people rate not cos of drivers attitude or conditions of the vehicle but rather rate based on their personal life and which is very bad. Any car can develop fault at any moment, and the driver might not know until a rider notified or he get to know himself and I don’t think a rider needs to judge him with that by rating him low.

GAZZUZZ:

I strongly disagree with you.

Do you know why some riders have a bad attitude towards most drivers? It's because of situations like this.

They have met with so many uncultured drivers with faulty vehicles and assume all of them are the same.

A driver with bad a/c should not be on a trip, he should fix it or paint his car yellow with black stripes.

The reason for the rating system is to remove the bad eggs from the system.

There is no sentiment attached to doing business on uber or taxify, there are certain standards that should be upheld.

Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ridwanadedapo(m): 2:50pm On Mar 24, 2018
This is wicked if you do so! You don’t need to spoil another man’s life even when you know the consequences of your action. The only thing I expect of you is advise him and move on. I take UBER most time and am always happy to rate 5atars with good comment cos that’s the only way to encourage them.
Though the purpose of the Uber rating system is to promote good driver behavior. Poorly rated drivers with dirty cars and bad attitudes are naturally flushed out of the system. But when I have a bad or even mediocre experience with a driver, I view the situation pragmatically by assessing the risk and reward by giving that driver a low rating but what good does it do me to give him a low rating? It will make him a little upset, I gain nothing.

pattybf:
This is becoming a norm for uber drivers. They don't switch on AC before picking rider, at d end AC won't cool well.

I'm riding with one as I type, My kids n I r sweating n he insist it's working.

No prob, low rating awaits him!

Took a white guy from Ikoyi to international airport this morning on a 1.7boost. His fare was 3,300, he gave me £20 + $5, promised to hit me up when he’s back. I drove to the airport car park and I slept till 2:30pm then I went online, I got a request and the person canceled, I checked her destination it was VI , sweet market. I called her till she answered and she wanted to deliver something. I billed her 15k and am done for the day. Just 2 trips! God is Good wink

This happened to my car when I bought it. They overfilled the gas and makes it to malfunction. I took it to an AC man and he released d gas for some time and since then it’s been working fine.

GAZZUZZ:
Airconditioning.....

it's not always about adding gas, adding gas.....

gold honda city (our most reliable car/driver) complained of vehicle not cooling properly under intense heat (lagos hot sun), I told my bois to have a look at it on monday, they said it was just Gas, they added Gas, driver went away but still reported same issues. To be proactive, I ordered for a sharp toks compressor assuming the old one had kicked bucket.

Driver came for A.c repairs, preliminary diagnosis, 240psi high side, 41psi low side shocked shocked shocked angry angry angry

Someone overfilled the system with refrigerant.....

Reduced refrigerant to normal values and car is back on the road again.

lesson. [s]Don't allow the bois refill refrigerant grin[/s]

Don't overfill your system with refrigerant.

One of the major reason we live below the average line Is cos of our believe, people spend most of their time praying for financial breakthrough without knowing what to do to be rich and just want to be rich anyhow which doesn’t work that way. My prayers are always ideas and connections to the right people. I was driving by a church on a Monday afternoon and if you see the way people were praying even the American rider was like this is f*** and to me it’s madness. Let’s change our thinking and prayer patterns. God Bless! Again, always be smart and be quick to read riders. Trust me billionaires are going to ride with you and u won’t know, millionaires will ride with you and they won’t say, it’s your personal attitude that will show you who they really are. Have met so many big people while driving UBER, it’s not just driving to me cos it’s more than that ( if you know you know) Treat people nicely no matter what and the narrative will change sooner than later. Thank God so far!

Pls which one be mineral oil again? Below is what I use to service my car since I bought it and I do it every 4000m. Kindly advise sir! Thanks

sadly this is how the inside of most engines used for E-hailing are.

Mineral oil used over 5,000 miles will definitely result in sludge.
