Hey guys... for those who have given birth in the US... what kind of immunization/vaccines did they give your baby and how much? also how much on average does it cost to get the babys american and nigerian passport over there in america.??

hi guys..sorry to digress a bit..but has anyone done shopping on amazon.com from nigeria? not .co.uk oh...their US site.. how did you pay? do they accept debit naira cards or does it have to be a credit card??

my passport was not virgin though..i schooled in the uk and my husband also had been to the UK several times... so i am not sure about a virgin passport... but i can tell you that if you have excess money in your account... they will likely give you...pay slips, employment letter..all those things to show that u will come back.. if u have life insurance policies, include that...your rent details or if u pwn a house etc... hubby and i took all docs possible althought they did not even ask to see them but just so u are prepared..being a virgin passport and all...

For the lady asking about going to give birth for the first time in the US... just scroll up..i am a first timer and they gave me visa...i had more than enough money to show that i was not going to run away and i told them i was pregnant..i think it helps if u apply along with your husband.

I booked deLta I actually checked their policy. There is no restriction for preg women .I hope and pray it. All works out well

@tobiojo.. how did you book delta please. what website because on delta.com, they apparently dont fly from nigeria . does anyone else know how. the flight prices for october are ridiculoussssss ... help oh biko

@tobiojo ... MMA does not send you...however some airline are notorious for turning people back like British airways if you are going through London.. i hear Delta is the easiest to travel with. Try and take a long a medical report that shows it is safe for you to fly. That might be tough if you want to wait till week 37 but find out what the airline you are using specifies as safe to fly when pregnant.

Well this is from friends experience and not mine... if you did not declare that u were pregnant when u got the visa, they will likely take you to a room for questioning...now how long you spend in this room really depends..i can not say. my advice would be to carry a healthy amount of cash in US dollars on you.. so you can tell and show them that you have the money to pay for delivery... if you baff up well and cover up and they dont notice..then you are graced..just walk through...

as for the lady askng abt pregnancy test..here in Nigeria they dont do that..they just ask if you are pregnant and take your word for it... arriving the US..i doubt they do pregnancy tests there either... although if you are obviously showing and you deny it when u get there, they might have nmo choice but to subject you to a test.

@sweetg your ababy is entitiled to medicaid like i said.. they will not turn you back for accepting medic aid... but when you come back to nigeria and want to apply for a visa again... it will pop up in your records that you accepted certain funds from the american government... they might not be upfront to tell you that it is because you accepted medicaid for your child that they are denying you. Anyway... it seems you have done it already..keep us posted when next you apply for a US visa.. as for the rest of the house... do not accept medic aid oooo!!! even if if it for your child. You are not an american citizen, though your baby is entitled..stay away from it.

ok.. quite a bit of questions..i hope i answer them all... This is my first time in the US...i have actually been denied a visa before... so it doesnt matter whether ure a frequent traveller or not.. it would help if you are obviously but it ddnt stop them from giving me..as for how much to be in your account.. i would estimate about 1.5 - 2m... its just an estimate to show them that you are well able to cover for travel expenses, delivery costs etc.

As for the lady who talked about medicaid... although your baby is a citizen and they will not turn you back for accepting medicaid for the child, it will be on your records that you accepted medicaid and when next you go for a visa, they will likely deny you. this is something that most people do not know.. do not accept medicaid even though your baby is eligible for it... unless you yourself are an american citizen

I applied for my us visa with my husband and they gave us both.i told them I was pregnant and want to go give birth, they asked if I had contacted the hospital etc which I had and I had an email print out to show, he actually asked to see it. So my advice tell the truth and have enough money in ur account. Cheers. I'm off to Yankee
