A lot of people have got their visas using statement of accounts bearing names different from their surnames. Getting visa is not the ultimate, it is important that you have a good plan to fund your education so you do not fall out of status. You have a good GPA. With a good GRE result and good letters of recommendation , you can leverage for funding if you apply to the right schools. You can use the thread for your GRE prep https://www.nairaland.com/1832477/how-achieve-high-scores-gre
Thanks alot

Make sure you access some test banks to gauge yourself. Have you searched for schools? Whats your undergraduate major?

I studied Computer Science but would like to do Msc in Electrical and Computer Engineering ...currently working with a telecom vendor.... Am looking at university of Houston, Mississippi State University & Stony Brook University(nt sure I want to go to new York tho). Still need to be guided on d choice of school

US education is quite pricey. Your 2 million would be good only if you get a good amount of funding from any of the schools you apply to. If you have a GPA of 3.5/4 and GRE of 320+, funding chances are high if you apply to schools that have a lot of them.
If you want to use 2 million naira which is not up to 10000 dollars to fund a Masters program in US without any funding, you might want to have a rethink.
Just find as many schools as possible, contact the graduate coordinators of all the programs you are interested in about funding, prepare hard for the GRE and be hopeful. Wish you luck.

By the way, you should start preparing for the GRE right away if you want to get good schools for Fall 2016.

Thanks for your response @SirRiddy... Am writing GRE soonest, I had 4.12/5.00 CGPA. What do u think about using my maternal uncle's acct nt same surname ofcourse.

Hello house....ve read alot of pages on this thread and ve done some personal research too....Please I need honest answer from experience hand. I intend to apply for MSC program in US. Already preparing for GRE, I hope to get a good score and some tuition waiver. I dnt ve sponsor but I have 2M+ as my personal savings which I intend to use for tuition for start and hustle for subsequent payment over there. I can get a sponsor account from relative but not my surname. What re my chances especially during visa application. Thanks

Car Talk / Re: 2005 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro Info Pls by rinw: 4:53pm On Jul 12, 2015
Siena:
Personally, I would avoid the 3.2 FSI version.

FSI engines are efficient, but the intake manifold needs periodic removal to decoke. The fuel pressures are almost as high as that in a diesel, so working on the fuel system with little or no knowledge is a recipe for disaster.

The fuel pump is also mega money, as a regular A6 non-FSI will not work.

Also consider the timing chain. It's at the back of the engine, and requires engine and transmission removal, then separation on the bench to replace it. It's a 15-hour job, over here Audi quote £2700 parts and labour to replace it. I myself charge £1900.

Consider even the most basic parts for this job in Nigeria, and the available expertise to carry it out.

My advice would be to go with the 4.2 V8 non-FSI. There is the 2.4 V6 too, if you can find a Quattro model, it won't be Multitronic / CVT.

Good luck!

Good day @siena please I need ur candid advice. I ve option of two cars at the moment but dunno which to pick between Audi A6 2002 and Toyota Solara 2005. Your professional advice considering maintenance, fuel consumption and peculiar faults, for an average earner would be appreciated.

thegame: hmmmm,, house, i did my panel interview today and i gotta tell you... its not something you should kill yourself preparing for. just be yourself and if you can remember about your school days, fine, if not, you may be on your own. one of the very beautiful women that interviewed me today asked about a scholar in my field of study(she studied same course) and i fluked, i hope they dont count that against me. and every other thing was like a chit chat. they just wanted to know more about me, my lil work experience, what ive been doing since i graduated, etc. no question about goals, vision, banking stuff. now im not sure about the one-on-one interview yet o.
and now here's the thing, im choosing to remain anonymous about my venue and name because THEY READ NAIRALAND as well. grin grin grin so whatever question you might have been rehearsing, take a chill pill and go there with a mind to do one thing....just impress the panel and pray for the best. cos they will not ask you what you see on nairaland if it wont give them the info they want.
ermmmm, i hope i have spoken well. abeg help me pray o cos i was very nervous today and i hope they didnt use that against me already.
im out. Peace!!!
Pls wn did u do ur doceumentation
