Need advice guys!! Did my biometrics on the 23rd of July and got a non straightforward email on the 28th Sent numerous paid emails and called 3 times but was told a decision hasn't been made on my application Noticed a slight inconsistency on my application. My transcript was addressed to my agents office and not the school, although the school issued me cas with same transcript. My TB test also has the main address of my school, and not my actual study centre Kindly advice me guys.. please . I'm exhausted, afraid, anxious and depressed. It's been over 3 weeks, PRIORITY SERVICE. |
Oh nice, you got a non straightforward email too? How long did you have to wait? Because I have sent a paid mail and even called, but was told to wait and nothing more. mike56: |
Hi everyone, anyone in my shoe at the moment? Biometrics was 23rd July (PRIORITY) Non straightforward email 26th July No feedback till then. Anyone can relate? Anyone gotten their visa after the non straightforward email? Anyone still waiting. If you got yours, what did you have to do, kindly share with a brother please. |
perisabc:Amen bro. Really hopeful |
Okrikarepublik:Thank you very much. I'll try |
Hello Guys, so this is my issue. Please I'm so worried and need advice. I did my biometrics on the 23rd of July (PRIORITY SERVICE) my application was transfered to DMC on the 26th of July. On the 28th of July, I received a non straightforward email. And I haven't heard back since then. I sent my paid first email on the 30th and the second on the 2nd of August (yesterday) but haven't gotten any response. I have also tried to call the numbers but haven't been able to reach them. MY APPLICATION PROCESS: I uploaded 4 bank statements, one of which is a dollar account and all combined largely surpasses the amount I need to proof I have had 3 US student visa refusals (back to back between Nov, December 2019 to March 2020. Note: the last two refusals were from reapplication from from first. I have one Canadian visa refusal. All the refusals were declared. I also uploaded two of the US visa rejection letters, and for the last one the Canadian refusal, I wrote a letter informing that I misplaced the letters. But all the refusals were declared. I uploaded an affidavit clarifying the disparity with my date of birth on m waec result and my passport. I uploaded all other documents, transcripts, bsc cert, passport data page as well as pages of previous visas, tuberculosis test, cas and application checklist. I really believed my application would be straightforward as I believed I didn't give room for questioning. I was really broken when I saw that email and haven't had so much peace till now. I need advice guys, I'm running out of my mind. Anyone who has had to deal with can share the process. I'm hopeful still but it is frustrating. |
HerMoney:Thank you so much. No I'm not giving up and you shouldn't too. I'll just wait for the school to respond, then I'll apply again and book an interview |
Second interview.. visa application refused. My school resumes on the 15th of january. Going to university of Illinois Visa interview went like this: VO: pass me your passport and i20 please VO: do you work? Me: mentioned where I work VO: how did you come about this school? Me: a seminar organised at the law school and one of the guest was an alumi. After the seminar, I had the chance to speak to him about my future academic plans and he referred the Illinois. I went further tho search on LSAC and usnews.com VO: who will be sponsoring you? Me: my Firm's managing partner, he is a senior advocate of nigeria. My uncle is also sponsoring. VO: starts typing..... Me: I was here previously on the 1st of November and the interviewer asked if I made any commitment to the school. I didn't then but now I was able to pay a seat deposit and sign an apartment lease. VO: have you ever been applied for a visa to canada? Me: yes I have. 6 years ago back when i was in the university VO: what happened? Me: it was refused. VO. I have reviewed your application and you do not meet the requirements. Hands me the green slip I feel so heartbroken. Please I'll appreciate suggestions. Obviously I can't make it this spring. |
Right bro.. thanks so much Sefa2018: |
True.. thanks much bro.. I just need to know how to put it all together to the VO LagosismyHome: |
I am not collecting any loan. I got a scholarship. A scholarship I mean not a loan. Also, I had a sponsorship letter from the organisation, I used that to apply for my i20. I just didn't have the bank statement at the time of the interview LagosismyHome: |
Same company I used in applying for my i20. I just didnt have their bank statement at the time i was applying for the Visa. I thought the sponsorship letter was enough.. About my tuition. Sure the dean told me I have right over how I want my scholarship grant to be utilised and I want it strictly for my tuition. University of Illinois although not top 10, is a well recognised school and the first VO acknowledged that Sefa2018: |
Looking forward to responses |
Hello guys.. So a few days back, I posted that I was denied my F-1 student visa this morning at the Abuja consulate. A recap of my Interview went like this: VO: can I have your passport and I20 Me: passed it on VO: why Illinois? Me: still talking when vo cuts VO: you're going for your masters in law? Me: yes VO: you have a degree in law? Me: yes I do VO: are you a practicing lawyer? Me: yes I am VO: did you apply to other schools? Me: yes I did. Was naming them when he cuts me... VO: this program at Illinois is quite expensive, I see you were given a scholarship. You still will be needing approximately $40,000. Can I see bank statements.. Me: I give him my uncle's bank statement. Also supplements with mine. VO: what does your uncle do? Me: he is a contractor, deals in supply and sale of industrial and agricultural equipments/ building materials VO: cuts in.... does he have children? Me: yes he does, 3 daughters. VO: how old are they? Me: first is 36, second a few years younger, I'm not sure. Last is around my age. VO: where do they live? Me: first lives in Sweden, second lives in south africa and the last lives here. VO: have they ever travelled to the US? Me: I can't say.. VO: did you pay any money to the school? Me: no I haven't VO: ... types for a while, passes my passport and a green sleep. I can't issue you a visa at this time. Try again. I'm still shocked, I don't know how to feel. I don't feel bad but I don't feel good either. I have paid another visa fee. Hoping to apply again and secure another date before school resumes in January. I was admitted into all four schools I applied to. University of Illinois, university of San Diego, Arizona state university, st. Mary's university. Illinois gave me $35,000 scholarship, San Diego gave me $10,000 scholarship. Uncle had a closing balance of almost 10,000,000 and a good cash inflow. Hoping to get another interview date in two weeks. I need advice guys I must appreciate everyone that contributed and shared their opinion. After reflecting, although I wasnt told the reason for the denial, I was able to deduce that the VO was willing to give me the visa but obviously couldn't as the bank statement shown didnt meet up with the remaining funding requirement.. and this was the the reason for my denial. FUNDING! MY FINDINGS AND NEW CHANGES:: 1. I have approached a company willing to offer sponsorship . A sponsorship letter and bank statement to evidence that. Having about N40,000,000 to N50,000,000. 3. Will still carry the old bank statement along with me. 2. I contacted the school and paid a seat deposit and also made application for housing which was accepted. The dean also adviced me to register all my courses before going back for the interview. This is to address the last question raised by the VO. Now I will appreciate advice from everyone before going back again. I am so scared. School begins in January. I know I may not have time again but I just dont want to rush. I need to know how I can brace myself back up, the best way to put forward this changes to the VO this time in a way that is convincing enough. Guys please help a brother with suggestions... |
True. But considering that I'm going for the spring session which starts in january.. time is of essence. I'm looking at calling the school to see if I can make a deposit or something Pefuele: |
Thank you so much... yea I'll put that into consideration.. the sponsor was always there. I just didn't have the opportunity to let the VO know as he was in such a hurry. And I actually didn't have bank statements just a sponsorship letter Pefuele: |
I've always had an organisation sponsoring me on my i20. I just didn't have a bank statement to show for it Pefuele: |
I think I will just request a bank statement from the organisation that offered to assist me initially. All I was given was sponsorship letter. Then I'll go back and try again. The issue I had was funding.. Pefuele: |
Yea it is.. I just need to get my funding right... i wish i had an idea Pefuele: |
Yes I think so. I'm just reflecting and realising now. He was convinced about the school. But he was satisfied with my funding. Plus my i20 indicated "ORGANISATION/FAMILY FUNDS" so funding was incomplete I guess. I'm going to university of Illinois College of law Pefuele: |
Any idea what I can do? Pefuele: |
True. I just need to figure out how to make it right LagosismyHome: |
I'm short of about $10,000 Americanpizza: |
It's all luck from what I experienced. Just luck |

finally (today) i am able to track the items i sent to Canada via NIPOST on the 15th of august. i noticed something weird though. I uploaded a picture of the tracking page. the items were sent as documents instead of what i actually sent ( clothes, toiletries, omega h3 bio capsules and powdered milk). it was meant to be a REGISTERED MAIL but on the mail class area, what i am seeing is different MAIL CLASS: LETTERS (LC/AO). it also shows the items arrived at the OFFICE OF EXCHANGE office of exchange on the 17th of AUGUST. Last Event Detail: INSERT ITEM INTO BAG

Frenchfriez:. Like for real? How come the carrier from the tracking site showed lagos air. I suspected it was shipped just like you said. This is so frustrating. Anyway, once beaten, twice shy. |
Frenchfriez:It wouldn't have been about the price actually. The reciever insisted i send it via registered mail so i did. Now both of us are getting frustrated. |
