I want to start a business this month, i already have a shop in a good area in lagos,and i have money to get some goods in the shop(jewelry business). But the money i have wont be enough to stock my shop the way i want.

No.4, I will advice you to go into phones and accessories , this is my field and the profits you can make in selling some accessories is over 300% eg bought a charger for 400 ,you can sell it for 1500. But it all depends on location and other things.

Opening viewing center is no more lucrative because of the high numbers of betting shops everywhere , showing free live matches even bar parlours and restaurants shows live matches free. Will advice you not to even consider that option.

First and foremost, you need to embark on a market and community awareness survey.

The questions to answer is;

1) What is the demand of the people residing in my locality?

2) What their population?

3) What is their per capita income?

After you have answered these, you will know which ideas to embark on. This is imperative because your location determines what will sell.

For instance, if you reside in one of the suburb saturated with youth, a viewing centre will be profitable but if you stay around a Gra, you biz will fold up within three weeks.

Please I need advice from you guys. I am thinking of going into business but don't know a profitable one to go into. I have asked friends and family and I got some ideas but I don't know how profitable they are and the cost of starting them. I would list them here so that you guys could give me your opinion and also give me other ideas too. Thanks

1) opening a viewing center and games center: a viewing center is where people go to watch football matches and a game center is where people go to play games like ps2, ps3, Xbox on television. I intend to run both at the same place since matches are only aired on weekends(aside during cl and el days),I can run the games center to get money daily.

2) opening a unisex salon: this one entails opening a shop where both guys and girls can make their hair. It will require getting people that can barb and plait hair as I don't know how to do this

3) opening a gas filling shop: this one has to do with opening a shop that will be selling gas

4) selling of laptops and phones: this involves importing laptops and phones and selling them

5) opening a restaurant: opening a restaurant that sells different types of food and drinks

This are the ideas I have,please if you know anything about them,how much it will cost to open and profit expected from them please your opinion is needed.

Sometimes I wonder why we keep on making pounded yam when we can easily make oat foofoo. Pounded yam is one of the deadliest food we eat as Nigerians. Number one cause of diabetics among people that it is their traditional food.

I really enjoy eating oats,it is my best food,I also enjoy oat swallow,it is better than garri,fufu and other swallow that are dangerous to the health. I remember then when I use to take eba,I would always feel heavy and lazy but with oat it is different,I feel light after taking it,the only downside is that it is expensive.
Most people don't care about their health,all they know is to eat anything that looks like food. If you tell them that pounded yam is bad,they will tell you that their forefathers ate it and lived to an old age but they forget that men of old worked hard on their farms from morning till night and most times they eat their food with lots of vegetables,and they take herbs from time to time.I just hope one day people will realize that what they eat plays a major role in how healthy you are.
