YBTC NEWS-President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday arrived Sokoto State to condole with the family, people and government over the death of former President Shehu Shagari.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the president was received at the airport by the state Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, his deputy Manir Dan-Iya, Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, and Sen. Aliyu Wammako.

Also on ground to receive the president were traditional and religious leaders as well as his admirers and supporters.

The Nigerian political drama continued in a new episode that got the jaws dropping after President, Muhammadu Buhari was allegedly booed by opposition party members in the National Assembly. In the midst of presenting the 2019 budget at a joint session of the National Assembly held on 19th December, 2018 some members of the both legislative chambers reacted to the president speech in a more loutish manner.
Perhaps, this is one the most ‘National embarrassments’ displayed by those who are supposed to make the laws for the country. This ill-mannered exhibition has clearly defined the kind of government and people who Nigerians elect to make laws for the country.

The first disappointment is that these people are supposed to make the laws but instead of maintaining full decorum in a special parliamentary session like this, they ended up displaying absolute immaturity never expected from people of their caliber.

Again, the second disappointment is that they have successfully and indirectly succeeded in bringing out their true colours. When they booed the president they thought they were opposing him but they are unaware that they booed themselves in the eyes of the world. In his response towards this uproar, President Buhari was reported to have said “The world is watching us, we are above this”. This statement by the president sends a strong message to not only the nerves of these so called parliamentarians but also to Nigerians that we have bunch of unserious lawmakers.

YBTC NEWS—The management of the University of Ilorin has shown reaction towards the report of one of its students, Adigun Emmanuel Adewale, Faculty of Agriculture, who was to have committed suicide last week Thursday (29th of November, 2018) which was as a result of frustration over his failure in his final year Project.

YBTC NEWS—A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to arrest Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former minister of petroleum, within 72 hours.

The order was issued by Justice Valentine Ashi based on a motion filed by the counsel to the EFCC, Msuur Denga.

Denga had earlier prayed the court to issue a warrant for the former minister’s arrest to enable the anti-graft agency arraign her in court.

The EFCC investigated the former minister along with Jide Omokore, a former Chairman, Atlantic Energy Drilling Company, following a petition dated October 2, 2013, from Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, CACOL, bordering on money.....

YBTC NEWS-Nigeria Senate has adjourned Plenary for two weeks, to resume on November 6, Senate President, Bukola Saraki announced this on Wednesday.

Saraki explained that the break would allow committees of the Senate to carry out oversight functions.

“These are committees that are going to carry out the oversight. It is only plenary session that is being suspended. We expect our committees to carry out oversight in this period.

“Particularly if you recollect, when we debated the Eurobond, there were a lot of questions on implementation and utilisation of those loans.

-Bribe Videos: Ganduje mobilises 3,000 thugs to scuttle Jaafar Jaafar appearance

YBTC NEWS-The Kano State government has mobilized over 3,000 thugs from 44 local government areas of the state to create chaos and scuttle the scheduled appearance before Kano State House of Assembly.

DAILY NIGERIAN had published verified videos clips showing the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, receiving bribe from a contractor.

Although the state government had described the footages as “cloned” and threatened legal action against the publisher and the medium.

On October 18, the assembly invited DAILY NIGERIAN and its publisher, Jaafar Jaafar, to appear before its seven-man investigative panel to answer questions regarding the authenticity of the video clips published by the newspaper.

DAILY NIGERIAN lawyers had already written to the police, State Security Service, SSS, seeking adequate security “before, during and after” the investigative hearing on Thursday.

Amnesty International had also written to the Inspector-General of Police, Rabiu Yusuf, requesting security cover for the publisher before, during and after the event, but the agency is yet to receive the IGP’s reply.

But credible security sources said the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Yusuf, who is doing the governor’s bidding, had given nod for the state government to mobilise thugs to create chaos.

The group faulted a situation where the delegate list was changed by some money bagged Abuja politicians who have little or no political relevance back home. 2019: Shekarau Dumps PDP For APC

YBTC NEWS—Former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Shekarau announced his decision to join the ruling party after a closed-door meeting with the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

The closed-door meeting was held on Friday in Kano State.

Despite the hiccups surrounding the venue for the declaration, Kwankwaso, the popular red “capist”, managed to officially make known his intention to oust President Buhari. Before the event, the Senator was reported to have been denied the use of Eagles Square by the Integrated Facility Management, the firm in charge of the venue. 1. Let me say, once again, how wonderful it is to see so many talented and purposeful young people at this first edition of the Public Dialogue Series with Political Parties on Youth Candidacy and Party Primaries. Looking at you, I see future leaders who present themselves as capable and worthy to take on the mantle of leadership in this country, and this gladdens my heart.

2. From my interactions with many of you, and with your contemporaries across the country, I can see that we are blessed with a determined generation that stands ready to join with us to power a Nigerian renaissance. The quality of people I see here today affirms my belief that, indeed, you are Not Too Young To Run.

3. I deeply appreciate this opportunity to share some of my ideas about where we are as a nation, as well as the challenges before us as we approach the great decider that is the 2019 General Elections.

You are indeed the future of this country. 5. Up and down our country today, Nigerians are crying out for succour. Many of our children are hungry. Many people are dying of avoidable or otherwise treatable diseases. Many have fallen below basic living standards, and are now among the 87 million that sealed Nigeria’s position as the country with the highest number of people in extreme poverty. Our young people lack opportunities. The necessary education facilities and system to equip them for the future simply do not exist. We are not creating the jobs needed to usefully engage them in order to grow our economy. And too often, the youth feel shut out, prevented from having any say in the direction of this nation.

6. The harsh conditions of extreme poverty faced by the people, fuels the state of insecurity all over the country. Hunger, lack of education and lack of opportunities push many Nigerians into criminal activities including terrorism. Many of our communities are paralysed with fear – due to incessant communal crises, kidnappings and other social ills, as well as the threat of terrorism. We are failing abysmally to tackle the problems of today and to prepare for the future...

YBTC NEWS-Unarguably, one can say President Muhammadu Buhari is one of the most loved leaders Africa has ever produced. Apart from Nelson Mandela of South Africa who selflessly served his nation simultaneously-loved and adored by his people, I think PMB should be next in the clique of naturally loved leaders in Africa.

During the 2015 elections that gave birth to the emergence of Buhari as the president, the celebrations across the country revealed a new love song to the streets. “SAI BABA” was the chant in every nook and cranny across the country especially in the Northern part of the country.

Like I said and will always say, the jubilations across various states in the country after the Buhari victory, one will think PMB is a messiah coming to save the country from its troubles.

In the heat of Buhari’s victory, a certain Suleiman Hashimu started the record breaking trekking fever in the country. Hashimu, if we all can recall, because of his love for PMB, trekked from Lagos to Abuja. Also, other trekkers in the league of trekking fever, followed suit; trekking across different parts of the country to mark the overwhelming victory of President Buhari.

That wasn’t all, after the inauguration of the President; some issues of Cabal hijacking the administration of Buhari ensued.

Infact, the whole issue of cabals was lit globally by the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari during an interview with BBC Hausa in London.

Then, came the issue of concerning the President’s health which took him out of the country for about 103 days. To show the extent of the love President Muhammadu Buhari enjoys in the country, various mosques and churches dedicated some prayer hours to pray for his health and his safe return.

It was even supported with some sorts of fasting by some loyalists in seeking for the President’s good health.

Going down memory lane, after his safe return from London where he received medical attention, his plane landed in Kaduna as a result of the renovation of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. That is not the case, but, the mammoth crowd that received this man (Buhari) in Kaduna showed another display of natural love by the people. I personally viewed a clip that showed volumes of people....

APC National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, in a statement on Monday, said Saraki cannot pass integrity and anti-corruption test.

Nabene said: “In a recent interview with the international news organization, Bloomberg, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki unsurprisingly declared his intention to contest the 2019 Presidency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

YBTC NEWS- Kofi Annan, one of the world’s most celebrated diplomats and a charismatic symbol of the United Nations who rose through its ranks to become the first black African secretary-general, has died. He was 80.

His foundation announced his death in Switzerland’s capital, Bern, on Saturday in a tweet , saying he died after a short unspecified illness. It did not give details.

“Wherever there was suffering or need, he reached out and touched many people with his deep compassion and empathy,” the foundation said.

Annan spent virtually his entire career as an administrator in the United Nations. His aristocratic style, cool-tempered elegance and political savvy helped guide his ascent to become its seventh secretary-general, and the first hired from within. He served two terms from Jan. 1, 1997, to Dec. 31, 2006, capped nearly mid-way when he and the U.N. were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.

During his tenure, Annan presided over some of the worst failures and scandals at the world body, one of its most turbulent periods since its founding in 1945. Challenges from the outset forced him to spend much of his time struggling to restore its tarnished reputation.

His enduring moral prestige remained largely undented, however, both through charisma and by virtue of having negotiated with most of the powers in the world.

When he departed from the United Nations, he left behind a global organization far more aggressively engaged in peacekeeping and fighting poverty, setting the framework for the U.N.’s 21st-century response to mass atrocities and its emphasis on human rights and development.

YBTC NEWS-Nigeria Federal Government has rejected a report by the United Nations, which claimed it paid a “large ransom” to secure the release of the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, denied the claim in a statement on Thursday night.

He challenged anyone with evidence of such payment to publish it.

The report, dated July 27, 2018, was called ’22nd Report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team’ and it contained information about the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant – ISIL – (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals and entities.

My husband, his concubine and I lived together under same roof, housewife tells court

YBTC NEWS-An Oke-Ogbere Customary Court in Ibadan on Thursday dissolved a three- year-old marriage between one Temilade Oyeyemi and her husband, Ayo Oyeyemi , over deception and adultery.
The court’s president; Mr Sulaiman Olaniyi, said, “In the interest of peaceful living, the union between Temilade and Ayo has ceased to be.

“Temilade shall take custody of the two-and-a-half-year-old child produced by the union while Ayo shall pay a monthly allowance of N3,000 for the child’s upkeep in addition to being responsible for his welfare.”

Olaniyi, who also held that no form of deception could last forever advised young men to take care of their parents so as not to incur the wrath of God.

Temilade, 28, narrating her ordeal, told the court that her husband deceived her by presenting his concubine to her as his aunt.

“After I had pledged my future in marriage with Ayo three years ago, he completely deceived me that his concubine was his aunt.

“During the wedding, he introduced the same woman to my family as the only person that could stand in place of his late mother; and my family, unknowingly, accepted his deception.

-2019: I might run for President – Saraki

YBTC NEWS-The embattled president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has shown interest in running for the office of the President come 2019.

Saraki said this in a recent interview that he has been making consultations.

In the last one week, the Senate president has visited ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida.

Saraki also noted that he would need to win the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to achieve the objective of becoming the next president of the country.

The Senate president, who defected to PDP from APC two weeks ago, accused the APC of not managing its victory well, saying his new party could make a difference.

He said: “I am consulting and actively considering it… I believe I can make the change. The PDP has learned its lesson from the loss in 2015, and I think unfortunately, the APC did not learn from their victory.

“While negotiating with the PDP, we listed several issues. We talked about how to sustain and improve the fight against corruption; the issue of providing more powers to the states; inclusion and having a more nationalistic approach on things we do; to continue to improve the environment that will ensure investments.....
