Justice Maurine Adaobi Onyetenu of the Federal High Court, sitting in Osogbo, Osun state capital has ordered the National Assembly to immediately commence impeachment process against President Muhammadu Buhari.

The duo had three months ago written to both the lower and the upper chambers of the National Assembly on the need to impeach President Buhari, citing alleged constitutional breaches by the president and threatened that they will approach the court if they fail to act accordingly.

But when the lawmakers refused, they headed for court and filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Osogbo asking for an order of mandamus to compel both the Senate and the House of Representatives to start the impeachment proceedings of President Buhari.

In the suit filed on Tuesday, June 19,

YBTC News-Last week, the governor of Zamfara State and Chairman Governors’s Forum, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari did the unexpected. The governor out of what I cannot describe told journalists in Talata Mafara that he had dropped his responsibility as the Chief Security Officer of the state.

Mr Yari, has attributed his resignation as the CSO of the state to helplessness of the state government and the people over recurring killings in some communities and the state at large.

Now, to put the fact straight, Zamfara has been facing one of the worst banditry in the country in recent time. Almost every day, killings and bloodshed are reported in the media. In fact, some attacks are even reported days after the incident have already taken place due to the fact that the affected areas are remote villages.

It is important to note that, Zamfara has recently been in the news not because of anything but because of the frequent attacks in some communities that continues to unfold episode by episode. On the 30th of March Vanguard newspaper reported that more than 30 persons were buried in Bawan Daji village of Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara state following a gunmen attack on the village.

NYSC / Re: #nottooyoungtorun And The Rest Of Us, By Ibrahim Faruk by rmo19: 4:35pm On May 10, 2018
Since May 2016 the #NotTooYoungToRun Campaign and the Movement of youth and civil society groups advocating for the reduction of age for running for elective offices to mainstream young men and women in electoral politics have been at the forefront of the constitution amendment in Nigeria.

The Movement (which has gained global recognition from the United Nations, African Union and the Economic Community of West African States) and grown into what is now Nigeria’s largest and most successful youth movement in recent times is driven by the compelling need to restructure the country’s political system to address political exclusion and institute inclusive politics, transformative leadership and electoral competitiveness in Nigeria’s electoral process.

When the National Assembly in a historic vote passed the age reduction bill in July 2017 and the bill was also passed by 34 out of 36 State Houses of Assembly in February 2018, the Movement was convinced that after the State Houses of Assembly transmitted the constitution amendment to the National Assembly on 1 March 2018 the next and final stage in the constitution amendment process would be concluded quickly to open the space for young people to contest.

In a piece titled ‘NotTooYoungToRun and the Rest of Us’ by Ibrahim Kabiru Dallah, a member of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, written ‘to encourage some of the young people in Nigeria that are currently making us proud in either the political or business arena’ I was particularly impressed with the level of youth participation in Katsina state and in particular Ibrahim Zakari who is the Special Adviser on International Relations and Investments.
