Brief bio

Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, known by his stage name Ruggedman, born on September 20 (year unidentified) in Ehen, Abia State.
A graduate of political science from Lagos State University, Ojo, he started loving music in 1989. He had his own songs done in 1991 and released a CD, which had two tracks. The two songs got massive air play, but in 2002, Ruggedman felt Nigerian rappers lacked talent and he needed to do something about it. He was the most controversial musician at that time and that won him a lot of awards.

If a statement released by Atlanta U.S. Attorney Sally Yates yesterday is to be believed, superstar rapper T.I. could be heading back to jail.

“We are very disappointed in Mr. Harris’ recent conduct," U.S. Attorney Sally Yates told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a statement released Friday (September 17th). "We will make our sentencing recommendation at the revocation hearing.”
The rapper and his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle could face up to a year in California state prison, after they were caught being in possession of ecstasy in Hollywood, California on September 1st.
To make matters worse, T.I. failed a drug test when traces of codeine were found in his system when he was drug tested shortly after the arrest and he was traveling with a convicted felon named Cortez "C-Rod" Thomas

He then relocated to Lagos and joined up with his ex-IMT mate BlackFace to form Plantashun Boyz. He started calling himself "2Face" in 1996. My only question is why  is  ruggedman always using media like papers,blogs and not enter studio to reply ,thats why i posted the topic

While i commend the write-up. I will also like to give a personal opinion to all he; 9ice vs Payne vs Ruggedman's issue.
I will forever remain a friend and fan of Ruggedman regardless of 9ice's gimmicks.
9ice should go back and resolve whate, ver contract he has signed with Tony Payne which got out of hand. Tony Payne has always been a hardworking lady, an enterpreneur, a music lover and 9ja music promoter for years.
Ruggedman cleared the cob-webs of the 9ja hip-hop industry which gave rise to acts like M.I, Jesse Jagz, Banky W, Naeto C, Dbanj and co. The 9ja music industry was in a mess, talents were not given the opportunity to express themselves, we celebrated "wack-Mcs" who got into the game by accident and gave us remixes of American hip hop heads.
Ruggedman revolutionarised 9ja Hip Hop. Ruggedman made 9ice who he is today.
Ruggedman had always given young talents the opportunity to shine (Check out his 1st album; Thy Album Come). That is Ruggedman. He is blunt and straight.
Who is Seriki? It is funny for Seriki to say Ruggedman is biting the finger that fed him. It should be the other way round. Seriki should rather do his thing and not involve himself with other people's issues.
9ice dissing Ruggedman will take him no where. Rather he should be a man and go back to his wife who fed him and made a star out of him. Tony Payne is currently managing W4 and Zara. She had always been that way from her days in the US.
9ice will end his career if he goes ahead with what he has planned.
These two guys; Ruggedman and 9ice are brand names in Nigeria. Ruggedman has the fan base. Ruggedman is still the OPOMULERO (i guess 9ice calls him that anyway). So why mess up with the "opomulero"?
Ruggedman had series of hit songs before the collaboration with 9ice on Ruggedy Baba album. Ruggedman wanted to make an artist out of 9ice with the fusion of rap and 9ice's style. Ruggedman sold 9ice's style of singing to Nigerians. 9ice should be grateful to Ruggedman till he turns 100years plus.
9ice is just a kid. He goes on National TV and calls Ruggedman a naughty person and old fool. I guess he cant say that when he was more like a "motor-boy" for Ruggedman in the past.
I love 9ice. I blast his first CD every second. I never bought his second CD because i got to know he has lost the touch and feel of the "9ice" i used to listen to. He knows it and trynna come back at his fans using Ruggedman as a front.
I dont really want to sound one-sided because i knew when 9ice follows Ruggedman all around running errands for him and also accompanying Ruggedman to shows.
9ice is a family man now. He is a married man that has issues with his wife and home. He should be the "opomulero" of his home now. He should rather go home and settle things with his wife instead of trying to make a mess of himself.
Besides, he is still owing ID Cabasa for the production of his first album.
9ice should grow up to be a responsible father and husband. What more can i say if Tony Payne is not saying much about the issue and also refering to him as not being NICE?
If he needs some of Ruggedman's fan base or attention. He should talk to Ruggedman politely. Ruggedman will meet his demands.

Please Note: This is my personal opinion. It has no in-put from Ruggedman. I believe Ruggedman and his Management should "siddon and look" while we his fans watch proceedings.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flag bearer in the 2011 elections will emerge at a special national convention on October 23. This was announced by the party after its emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja yesterday.

Also, each of the presidential aspirants is to pay a total of N11 million, comprising N1 million for the Expression of Interest form andN10 million for the nomination form. So far, there are four aspirants on the platform of the PDP, including the incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan; former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, and Sarah Jibril, who is the only female aspirant.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ahmed Rufai Alkali, told journalists after the meeting that the party’s candidates for the state Houses of Assembly will emerge on October 2; gubernatorial candidates, October 8; House of Representatives candidates, October 12; and senatorial candidates, October 14.

He also said that the governorship candidates will pay a total of N5.5 million each, comprising Expression of Interest form, N500,000 and nomination form for N5 million. Senators will be required to pay N2.2 million (Expression of Interest N200,000 and nomination form N2 million); House of Representatives members, N1.1 million (N100,000, Expression of Interest and nomination form N1 million); and State Houses of Assembly N600,000 (N100,000 for Expression of Interest and N500,000 for the nomination form).

Concession for female aspirants

Mr Rufai said female aspirants are exempted from paying nomination fees, but are expected to pay the expression of interest fees at every level.

The PDP spokesperson also announced the modalities for picking the candidates at the various congresses and conventions, and those that are qualified to be nominated as delegates to them. He added that the NEC resolved to put on hold the midterm conference and special convention, in view of the limited time for the conduct of Congresses and Convention.

The other highlight of the meeting was the waivers granted to former vice president, Abubakar Atiku, and 15 others. Those granted waivers include: Ada Okwuonu, deputy governor of Imo State; Chikwem Onuoha; Ijeoma Nwafor; Charles Chinedum Elechi; Prince Okoro; David Imuse; Alphonsus Igbeke and Olusola Akanmode.

Others are: Mohammed Salami Ohiare; Salihu Otaru Ohize; Abdulkareem Saliu; Suleiman Kokori Abdul; Abdulmumeen Ahmed Okara; and Momoh Jimoh Anda

A victory for democracy

Meanwhile, Mr Abubakar has lauded the ratification of his waiver by the NEC of the party, saying it is the right thing to do. He hailed the national working committee of the party, the executive council, stakeholders and other party faithful for their moral courage.

He said in a statement by the Atiku Campaign Organisation that “It is time to chart a new course for the PDP by entrenching true democracy and the rule of law. It is not about me. It is about ensuring that we deepen our democracy by entrenching inclusiveness in our party’s quest to usher in a new order.

JAY-Z is planning to spend more time in London as he prepares to invest in a top British soccer team.
The rapper has previously spoken of his interest in becoming a major shareholder in Barclays Premier League club Arsenal, admitting he has been a fan of the team since French star Thierry Henry played for them.

But Jay-Z, who co-owns U.S. basketball team the New Jersey Nets, insists he will have to play an active role in Arsenal if he's to clinch the deal.
He says, "(Wife Beyonce and I) would have to spend much more time in London. Bey knows how much I love sports and has known about my interest in Arsenal for a while.
"I never want to be a back-seat investor. I want to be on the board, involved in the decision-making, I'm at the stage of my career where I am ready for another investment like this. I have really got into soccer over the last 10 years and I've been saying for some time I want a percentage of Arsenal.
