Police say Rapper T.I. and wife Tameka Cottle have been arrested in West Hollywood on drug charges.Los Angeles sheriff's deputy Mark Pope says the arrests for possession of a controlled substance came late Wednesday night during a traffic stop, when officers smelled alleged marijuana smoke coming from their vehicle.

He says the 29-year-old T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., and Cottle, a 36-year-old singer, were booked at the West Hollywood sheriff's station and bail was set at $10,000.
Pope says he's not sure if they were still being held early this morning.
T.I., who has a key role in the current top box office movie "Takers," was released from a federal prison in Arkansas in December after serving several months for illegal firearms possession and possessing a gun as a convicted felon.

Its pathetic what Timaya encountered trying to make it down to London only to stay loyal to his fans. Despite been promised business class ticket but instead was given economy class, Timayas contract stated "all remaining monies will be paid prior to the show". In what developed world do u withhold an artist fee until they have performed,
DJ Douglas reluctantly refused to make any payment of the agreed contract causing Timaya not to perform, After the show, Deadly Dj Douglas sent a gang of fully harmed guys to harm Timaya in his hotel room, Thank God he was able to escape the attack

“The show goes on” Femi Ayeni of Ultima studios told journalists last week after the fire outbreak, and true to his words, the show continues with Vwede and Helen being the next to leave the academy.


Last week, to the surprise of ardent followers, none of the remaining 12 contestants was evicted from the MTN sponsored franchise, but this week, Christian, Rhoda, Ochuko, Helen, Christian and Vwede had the lowest votes and were up for eviction

As is the tradition, these contestants were given another chance to prove to the audience, faculty and contestants that they deserved another chance. The judges saved Rhoda; the Faculty saved Christian, while the contestants saved Christian.

This is the third time in a roll that the judges will save Rhoda.

To bid their fellow contestants and the fans farewell, Helen performed Awilo Longomba’s Coupe Bimbaba while Vwede performed Victor Uwaifo’s Jolomi.

Acting chairman of the FA’s Technical Committee, Dominic Iorfa revealed early today that his committee has agreed a monthly salary of $50,000 (N7.5m) for Siasia, an improvement from the widely publicized N5m, which the former U-23 Eagles coach reported to have turned down.

Iorfa said on Brila FM early today that though the Beijing 2008 Olympics silver medal winning coach is still insisting on $100,000 a month salary, his committee and the coach have agreed in principle on $50,000, which he believes is good enough for Siasia to take up the job.
“The Technical Committee of the NFF has agreed a monthly pay of $50,000 for Siasia, which is subject to the ratification of the new board of the FA. During our discussion with Siasia, he was insisting on his earlier stand on $100,000, but he has accepted our proposal of $50,000 in principle, which to me is good especially when he told us that the job is a national calling for him.
“The board of the NFF has final say on anything we agreed upon and I believe that as soon as the new board is in place, it will deliberate and seal the deal. I think everything is on course for us to get the best for Nigeria,” said Iorfa.
The NFF will give Siasia the chance to pick his assistants, have good accommodation and a chaffeur-driven car in Abuja as the FA usually does for the foreign technical advisers employed for the senior national team.
The latest development has paved way for Siasia to achieve his ambtition of handling the Eagles, a calling that is widely supported by the majority of soccer loving Nigerians who believe the current coach of Heartland of Owerri’s tactician has the magic wand to turn around the dwindling fortunes of the Eagles.

Timbaland was the subject of a manhunt yesterday after his family believed he was so distraught over the theft of a $2 million piece of jewelry he might harm himself ,  this according to law enforcement sources.

According to sources, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department put out a "possible suicide attempt" APB just before 5 PM PT yesterday. A helicopter and squad cars went on the hunt for the rapper/producer's Escalade.

Here's what we're told happened ,  Timbaland was on the phone earlier in the day with his brother-in-law ,  deeply upset about something. We're told one of the things that was eating at him was a theft at his Malibu residence a day before. Someone had stolen a crazy expensive Jacob & Co. watch -- valued at $2 million -- and Timbaland suspected it might have been someone he trusted.

Timbaland left his home yesterday and began driving. Family members couldn't locate him, became extremely worried and called the Sheriff's Department.

We're told the helicopter located the Escalade, ground crews pulled Timbaland over and began talking to him. At some point they put Timbaland in a patrol car and took him to his residence, where they continued speaking with him and family members.

Deputies called for paramedics to come and evaluate Timbaland. After the evaluation, paramedics determined Timbaland was not a threat to himself and left.

We're told the Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of Timbaland's jewelry and they have possible suspects.

Timbaland's rep could not be reached for comment.

Today 25th Aug 2010,marks the 9th year of Aaliyah haughton's tragic death in a plane crash.
The singer was one of nine people aboard a twin-engine plane that crashed seconds after taking off from the Bahamas. All nine died. Aaliyah was in the Bahamas shooting a video for her song "rock the boat".

In spite of the mysterious fire that ravaged Ultima Studios on Sunday August 22, 2010, the company has stated that their two currently running productions WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE? and MTN PROJECT FAME WEST AFRICA season 3 would continue as scheduled.

A recording for WWTBAM had just ended, when crew members noticed a minor fire, late Sunday. But what started as a little ball soon turned into huge flames as extinguishers failed to curtail the fire.
Staff and contestants who were housed in the Academy were promptly evacuated. There were no injuries nor lives lost. However, both the studios for WWTBAM and MTN Project Fame West Africa were badly hit and invaluable equipment lost to the inferno.
Ultima CEO, Femi Ayeni, told reporters on the site, Sunday, “although the incident is catastrophic and the loss shattering, we’re grateful to God that no lives were lost. The contestants are safe and we are confident that the show will go on, and in no time at all we will be back on air so keep watching.”
Early visitors to the site included MTN’s GM Consumer Marketing, Kola Oyeyemi. MTN, Nigeria’s largest telecoms company, is the sole sponsor for WWTBAM and the title sponsors for Project Fame. “This is a monumental disaster. We can’t even begin to comprehend the personal, emotional and material loss. But in all we thank God that no lives were lost. MTN is committed to enriching lives through our different services, properties and initiatives and we are already discussing with our partners at Ultima on how to make sure this tragedy does not distract us”.
Ultima is determined to take this incident in its stride and plans are on to return to full and enhanced production of WWTBAM and PFWA.

A 22-year-old Mexico woman won the Miss Universe pageant Monday night after donning a flowing red gown and telling an audience it's important to teach kids family values.

jimena Navarrete of Guadalajara was first to answer an interview question Monday night and the last of 83 contestants standing in the headline-grabbing pageant on the Las Vegas Strip.

Her one-strap dress flowed behind her like a sheet as she walked during the evening gown competition. Earlier, she smiled in a violet bikini as she confidently strutted across the stage.
Asked by Olympic gold-medal figure skater Evan Lysacek how she felt about unsupervised Internet use, Navarrete said the Internet is important but parents need to be careful and watch over their kids.
"I do believe that Internet is an indispensable, necessary tool for the present time," she said through an interpreter. "We must be sure to teach them the values that we learned as a family."
First runner-up was Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps, while second runner-up was Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell.
Navarrete — who's been modeling since she was 15 — is Mexico's second Miss Universe. Lupita Jones of Mexico won the title in 1991. Navarrete replaces Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela.
Navarrete's win thwarted Miss Venezuela Marelisa Gibson from giving the South American country a third consecutive victory. Neither Gibson nor Miss USA Rima Fakih made the top 15 finalists.
Navarrete was immediately congratulated on Twitter by Mexican President Felipe Calderon and his wife, Margarita Zavala.
"Congratulations to Jimena Navarrete for her deserved victory as Miss Universe," Calderon said. "This will serve Mexico, (and) our image as a country

Tiger woods and his wife officially divorced Monday, nine months after his middle-of-the-night car crash outside his home set off shocking revelations that golf's biggest star had been cheating on his wife.
The divorce was filed in Bay County Circuit Court in the Florida Panhandle. The couple had married in October 2004 in Barbados and have two children, 3 and 1.
''We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future,'' they said in a statement released by attorneys. ''While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.''
Terms of the divorce were not released, except that they will ''share parenting'' of their 3-year-old daughter, Sam, and 19-month-old son, Charlie.

I remember when I was in school back in Nigeria when a guy wanted to ask you out it would be a big deal not only for you but for him.
He would write you a letter (this was the mid nineties, so mobile phones were just coming out) which was filled with sappy lines like ‘you are the only sugar in my tea or the only cockroach in my cupboard’ by the way this was always in every guys letter, like a law had been passed which required every love letter to include those lines. If he couldn’t write you a letter he would send a friend to ask you if you wanted to go out with him, you were most likely to reply with “I don’t know, I have to think about it” and if you gave back a negative reply he would still spend days trying to get you to say yes. During this period he would buy you gifts such as assorted biscuits, offer to take you to Mr Biggs and if he was good with his words he would write you a couple of songs.

Fast-forward to the present and now we have guys who wait for women to make the first move. I remember having a conversation with a friend about relationships and mid conversation he says ‘I don’t ask girls out they ask me’, let’s just say I had to cover my mind with the blood of Jesus a couple of times to ignore the thoughts that were forming in my head towards him. I mean talk about confident.
So what happened to romance did the independent woman generation kill it or has it just become as old fashioned as chivalry has become. Where women have decided to go after what they want instead of letting it come to them, where romance has become to exhausting and they just want to get straight on with it, or are they too busy buying properties and working long hours to even realise that it’s not there anymore.

Or maybe romance has evolved with time, where text messages have replaced the old love letter and instead of him asking you to be his girlfriend you wait till his facebook status changes to ‘in a relationship’ and instead of you spending hours with your friends deciding what you are going to wear for your next date you’re in the kitchen wearing an old scarf with an oversized t-shirt and jogging bottoms dragging at your feet cooking dinner because you are already living together.

So I ask you, who killed romance?
