Have I said thanks, Ije? Been busy like crazy! Da'alu. |
Uhmm, not really. But your gele should be very distinct, with specks of gold/silver or some other pattern. Or their own gele should be the pink, so you can rock your maroon gele in comfort. |
C'mon, this is also why the thread's stickyed. So we can deliberate on choices after choices. Your girls may wear that combo. So I guess that leaves you with ivory and carton-color, maybe? Okay. Don't be worried about your folks adding color to your occasion. It could be really boring when all there is to do at a wedding, is just stare at the couples and then eat their foods. You will smile each time you peruse your wedding album and watch your VD, later on. |
That right there Sassy, is why i think it is crucial to wear coral beads on trad wedding wears, because pearls diminish the feel of the culture you portray, defeating the purpose of having that type of ceremony for the mere purpose of funkyfying one's African-ness. You just think about it. While these same pearls will defo look good on a dinner dress too, you might be perceived as clowning around if you dare try thesame with the typical coral beads. However, whichever anyone chooses to put on, they just have to feel really good in them, irrespective of what anyone else might think. Yvete, gold is by far the best color in my opinion, that compliments wine and wouldn't be shouty at all for your skin tone. You will love it. Carton color on wine could be rich too, in its profound way. Ivory of cos, will be good. But then, just like white, what color would it not compliment? And just like white again, it isn't exactly exuberant for occasions such as trad weddings. It's fast beginning to get hallmarked for towns' and churches' meetings in Naija, really. That's not to say that people don't use them for trad weddings at all, though. |
Light-skinned people, rock maroon like all the time. You have no idea. Maroon is pretty deep like the color black and red, and sooooo compliments light skin tone. I know this. I rock it too. Matter of factly, it does almost no justice to dark-skinned people, but is also beautiful on medium skin tone. Your FI coordinating his hat color with your gele's, won't be disastrous, No. Infact, brace yourself up a little, for a few of your guests just might appear in that color of hat too. Then what will you do? Lol. Just be sure that he won't be wearing the exact color matchings of your complete attires. Or for uniqueness, you could really put him up to wear the carton-colored hat with maroon dots. I imagine it will be cute too. Very. Although, almost everyone's been made to believe that there are really no restrictions on what pearls can be worn, it is crucial that coral beads go with certain trad attires like the niger-delta two-wrappers or the westerners' aso-oke. Or the pearl's design has to appear chucked somewhat, to look more like the typical coral designs. Pearls really do suit our african clothings, yes....but more readily when these clothings have been designed in the non-african way e.g cocktail/dinner dresses. |
illicit: lmao @kanye obese, almost all of dem looks like members of the Alcholic AnonymousMy thoughts too for most of them. Lol. Brad looks like he's just left rehab. Jolie looks like she's wearied of helping him re-integrate. Tom Cruise looks like a tired owner of some piggery with sweat and grub. Beckham indeed, looks like a fulfilled pastor. And Rihanna looks like a school mistress, yeah. Lmao @ her wedding band. |
In essence, you're going with Sassygal's suggestions (plus a touch of cream for your gals) and yeah, I think it will come out great! ![]() |
Unending fun. Joys in simple things. Strengths in your values. Ever blinding dreams. All these...and more...my birthday wish for you. HBD, Honeric01. |
Okay, remember me when pepper rest. ![]() |
I provided a list of workable color combos on the first page. You may browse through and pick something nice. Or d'you have a fav color? I can help in finding more colors to compliment your fav. From what I see beneath, the combo you're considering'd be just right! https://www.fashionkid.co.uk/238-2406-large/plain-cream-purple-party-bridesmaid-dress.jpg Be careful with the cream color play, though. So your groom won't end up cream-coordinating too much with the bridesmaids, instead of you. The design above is great, given that the purple's not subdued... But I'd advice against making the cream overwhelming as is seen beneath- if your groom must wear a cream-colored attire. David Rees, a cartoonist, humor writer and self-proclaimed pencil sharpening artisan runs a truly unique business. He charges customers $15 to sharpen their pencils to "perfections". You can supply your own pencil or you can have Rees sharpen his one of his favorite #2 pencils and ship it to you in a in a display tube with the shavings in a separate bag along with a certificate of authenticity that just happens to mention the pencil is so sharp it is considered a dangerous object. “It depends on what the client wants to use their pencil for,’’ he says. “That determines the most appropriate pencil technique. Some buy them as inspirational tokens, and others for nostalgic memories of classic No. 2 pencils. There also are journalists who prefer my pencils to pens especially in really cold weather because a pen will freeze up, whereas a pencil won’t.’’ https://daizszyxbqbb5.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/professional-pencil-sharpener-550x355.jpg “In my original business model, I was going to be a millionaire,” David told New York Daily News. “I figured I would sharpen somebody’s pencil, they would use it, it would be dull, I would sharpen it again, and over the lifetime of a pencil I would get like $100.” But that’s not exactly how it all played out in the end. Because his work was so impressive, most of his clients didn't even use the pencils – they just put them on display. So until a year ago, he had had only five returning customers. He takes comfort though, in the fact that so far, he’s had no complaints about the quality of his work. https://daizszyxbqbb5.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/professional-pencil-sharpener3-550x309.jpg https://daizszyxbqbb5.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/professional-pencil-sharpener2-550x412.jpg http://www.odditycentral.com/funny/its-no-joke-man-charges-15-to-sharpen-your-pencil-by-hand.html |
