Clemzy16: don't mind the OP. She is actually refering to a social meeting. (osusu) it's a kind of gathering where people come together to contribute money which at the latter will be allocated to one of all in bulk, until it gets to everybody. Also, they assist members in other aspects especially when financially-dead. Pay usually occurs at the end of the week, month or as the case may be. It's one of the forms of traditional financial institution.Who are the people liking this post, after all my lecture? Osusu is different na, Clemzy. Why don't you ask an elderly person around you about your town's meetings or club right now. |
Exactly what I wanted to say! They always take turns to enta the trap. Konnections..it's been a while. |
kukus01: and this bullcrap made frontpage because of 40k!!!!C'mon, be nice. It could be quite painful when you're aware of thy own self as a target of cheap scam and yet, can't do naught about it. |
Shollypopz: LoL, I don't think this is a popular knowledge in Lagos. A lot more people on this thread are as confused as I am. The only thing I know that is close to this type of stuff is landlord meetings and committees for the development of estates and ish. I never heard of this type of clubs. LoL, I did not live in Banana Island, but I'm sure I will when I marry yuzedo. It is more than a popular knowledge in Lagos. In fact, it is even more popular in the city than the villas. Because the people seem more interested in connecting with themselves when they're far from home. Club meeting grounds are also avenues to showcase your clothes, cars and wealth. How many villagers can afford that? |
slimyem: Yours must be one very useless club. You had better forget about the 40k and dissociate yourself from the association.Normally, once you get married, youngy or not, you are qualified to join your town's club. But that aside, how d'you know the OP is young? ![]() |
Shollypopz: LoL, mid-teen.No. Normally, if you have an event, like a funeral or your child's wedding to host, the entitlement would be like their own financial support in your time of financial need. Usually, these funds come from the contributions they make at every meeting for their movement, and since the purpose of the club is to better themselves, they make it a point to help each other financially on very special occassions. They tell you to treat them "right" at your occassion and the entitlement will be yours. The right could mean; giving them a special canopy, a cooler loaded with rice, crates of drinks, one carton of chicken...and on like that. Ne'ertheless, they choose the kind of people they play like that. If you really need money or are really poor, such may never happen. |
Can you explain, a lot of us don't understand what this club entails/is about?? Are u in the same club as the op??
Seriously Sholly, when did you leave Nigeria? Apart from being a place where rockstars can party, a club can also be an association that's dedicated to a particular interest or activity. Most of our Naija folks belong(ed) to their town's clubs and the likes...dedicated to community development and stuff like that. |
Enough of all these. This is pretty serious ish, for the mature. ![]() |
These are truly beautiful. |
Hehehe. |
Okay na. Janet and I are on NL. ![]() |
Of course, we may. Whichever medium you want, will be cool too. Permit me to also use this opportunity to plead with you to come in every now and again, and help in answering questions/sharing ideas, alongside Sassy and others. Heaven knows we can do with your wealth of experience on here as well. Thank you for finding a use, for what I would carelessly call unformed. Thank you. ![]() |
Well, I suppose you've been arguing with them since February, and yet nothing has come from that. If I were to guess again, I'd say nothing will either or you could risk stirring really bad blood. It's like a technique to extend the celebrations that's in bad taste, and is fast becoming a trend really. My mum's club members did not eat anything at all either, throughout my 2-day wedding event. In their words, "you should've warned us about not coming with our own food". Lol. Fried chicken seems to be a common problem, cos they requested for that as well, alongside a crate of malt and she did give to them. Not because of her entitlement per se. But because it's dignifying to reaffirm that she could cater to "all the people" Whether or not they attend, just give to them and move on. Surely, the extra pieces of chicken won't exhaust the 40k, abi? ![]() At all at all, na hin be winch. |
Really?! Oh my, very interesting. Full fledged wedding planner now...hehe. All that wahala in college of med... |
Gurl, I'm a full fledged medic. ![]() But as the inquiries come, I'm realising on the go that I may have attended and been involved in the planning of one to many weddings. Almost all the pics I've uploaded this far, are pics of my real friends even! ![]() |
Guess you figured it out. About your getting banned, it will be looked into. |
I'll keep saying it. Wole Soyinka talks too much. |
manie: Lagos is not the most expensive city in Nigeria, but it is the most expensive in the South West Region.Actually, that was a mistake on my part. I don't know how that came out. Was thinking South-South and East. |
This beneath should explain further; https://www.nairaland.com/1092958/complaints-feedbacks-suggestions-reach-moderator/1#15564313 And don't forget please. Start a thread on that ish. Let's see how it goes from there. |
Happy Birthday Seun and Afam. I wish you guys the best in everything! |
I couldn't locate any thread with that title, sorry. However, I believe you can get fresh answers to any bugging question you may have. You may start a thread on it or use the thread for wedding enquiries that has been stickeyd. Also, as has always been the case, you may start a thread to ask for event planners in certain areas, so long as you make it clear that you need their direct services. It could be chaotic on here, if planners from all 36 states, capitals and local governments are given free hand to have individual threads on here. |
slimyem: The writer made no point!!!Wow. I'm not the only one who noticed. This is as empty as a blank thread. |
beautyGlows29: Am louisa of beautyGlows makeup&skincare therapist. If u want me to recomment a toning cream for you or dark spot remover cream contact me on 08053352183This is nonsense. |
i don't need u to believe in my belief, i just want you to respect it. if we are delusional, leave dat to God.
Ese jare. I remember vividly, this same ridiculous question from the same Acidosis, has been seriously dealt with, not too long ago. And it ended with him running away like I suspect he must have done again today. It all just makes acidosis's mission clear on this NL. |
I saw Miss Bayelsa, Miss Ogun and Miss Abuja. Nice to see The Amaka around again. |
It seems to be a common fallacy to conclude that Lagos is expensive, just because the life's fast or whatidon'tknow. Lagos isn't New york. Prices of foods, rent and a whole lot more, are nothing compared to what they go for in many eastern and south-western states. The only thing that might drain the cash in a way that a lot of other states woulnd't, is the t-fare. |
Ignorant post from another reta.rded Nigerian.
Don't make me address this accordingly. I won't be half as meek as PEG. |
Soyinka talks too much. He can't make the entire world into his ideal world. |
